Built around a custom wood-burning oven and featuring stunning panoramic views of the Potomac River, Ada's on the River draws inspiration from the ingenuity of Ada Lovelace, one of the greatest mathematicians of the 19th century. Ada's menus feature a selection of wood-fired prime steaks, fresh seafood and vegetarian fare, in addition to an extensive beer, wine and cocktail list.

    An homage to 19th-century mathematician Ada Lovelace, Ada’s offers panoramic Potomac River views and features wood-fired prime steaks, fresh seafood and vegetarian fare. ‍ The 260-seat restaurant includes 160 indoor seats, including a 32-seat private dining room, and 100 seats on the outdoor patio. The stylish interior provides a warm, modern feel with 15-foot floor-to-ceiling windows and inviting booth seating. A unique wood-burning grill is the central component to the open-concept kitchen, nestled under sweeping hull-like wood paneling, and accented with vibrant red tiles. Original art features Ada, her father, the poet Lord Byron, and other literary figures such as Jane Austen, Mary Shelley, and Emily and Charlotte Bronte. ‍ Adas talented culinary team has created a variety of delicious, made-from-scratch menus. Options range from delicious hors d’oeuvres to multi-course plated meals.

    We had the reservation. Some members of our party were a bit late. We socialized at the bar and were able to wait for everyone to arrive before heading to the table. The food was fantastic! I would definitely go back.

    Superb food, well-sized portions, excellent service. Expensive but worth it. We had an outdoor table with a view of the River. We had the crab cake And the swordfish and shared a wedge salad and warm chocolate cake for dessert. All excellent and bordering on exceptional. Abby was an excellent waitress, just the right amount of attention. Bussing was highly professional- unobtrusive and classy, removing used silverware and bringing fresh cutlery with fresh napkins. A perfect special night out.

    Great spring evening in Old Town. Our waiter was great and the food was excellent. We’ve been to Ada’s before and this restaurant never disappoints.

    We chose Ada's from Open Table, being unfamiliar with most restaurants in Alexandria. The table with a view of the river was lovely, and we were lucky to be able to eat outside under an umbrella. The food was very good, and well presented. Enjoy Ada's. I will return.

    Ada was very accommodating. We had an inside reservation for 4:15 and showed up a little after 3:00 PM and they were able to move things around and get us an outside table in the sun with a great view. Our waitress was very patience as we took a long time to decided on food and beverages. We were not disappointed with the food or drink. Just wished we had left room for dessert.

    It was my first time there and I couldn't have been more pleased. Our waiter Dominick was attentive and thoughtful throughout our visit. He provided helpful suggestions and guide us through the menu with great knowledge. The food was well seasoned and delicious. From the spinach omelette, to the kale salad, to the lemon ricotta pancakes and the french toast. Everyone is my party was quite please and we will definitely be returning. Thank you Dominick for a wonderful experience!!!
