Had lunch there today either a couple friends. The staff was welcoming, everyone said their food was delicious (I had quiche) and we shared profiteroles for dessert that couldn’t have been better. Great ambience and the bill for 3 including cappuccinos was just over $100 without tip. Definitely will return.

I eat at Cognac a lot and I love it. Today, I had a reservation for lunch at 12:00. I arrived with my guest at 12:00 and stood outside waiting for the doors to open. We were seated at @12:10 and at @ 1:10, the hostess came to me and said she was sorry but they needed the table for 4 people. I think not allowing 1 1/2 hours for lunch and asking me to essentially leave is absurd, not to mention, I am a frequent client. This was embarrassing for me!

Consistently, an excellent dining resource for UES residents. Not fancy, but friendly and very comfortable for excellent "regular" food.

I don’t know what’s happened in the year since I last visited but this was a most dispiriting evening. Slack service, we, a table of six, were ignored, requested extras did not arrive, the burgers and salmon were overcooked, damp, flaccid fries, just the complete opposite to my experiences of earlier years. Unless I hear of a sea-change I won’t be going again, which is sad as it was a reliable joint.

I sat at a table for two under a window on Lexington Avenue--a perfect location. The food was delicious, not exorbitantly priced and served cheerfully and without pressure. An entirely satisfactory experience.

We were a couple of men who were hearing impaired. I had requested a quiet table if possible. The restaurant went out of their way to accommodate us. Everyone was sooo happy. The staff was great and food was delicious!
