The food was outstanding along with the service! Our waitress knew the right times to come by and check on our table and she was kind enough to do a round of champagne on the house in celebration of my birthday!! Thank you for the great experience!

The Grill Room has the perfect menu for a lunch for diners with varied tastes. The Maine lobster salad is fabulous and light.

Service on the roof top was terrible, waited for menu, waited another 10 min for bottle menu, waited another 5 min had to flag a server to order, then waited another 5-10 min for the bottle served ourselves after he pour the first glass. Dinner service was much better, nothing good about the food $32 for lobster salad with 3 tiny bites of lobster, $38 for a small filet of trout? $52 for 6 or 8 oz of chewy sirloin. Salad and trout was ok overall can't see us coming back

We didn't like a sizable tip added to the bill for so-so service..bread was delivered lukewarm as was the coffee. For a first-class restaurant with prices to match, none of the "niceties" ex. folding your napkin when you get up from the meal--were observed.

We have been to The Grill Room several times before, as we also enjoy the hotel’s Rye Bar for a pre-dinner drink, but this restaurant seems to have gone steadily downhill since it first opened. Although the hostess was lovely and the wait staff nice enough, our waiter was not familiar with the menu or able to engage with us about the food and wine in any meaningful way. We thus received no introductory explanations about the menu (as you typically get at a nicer restaurant) or able to get decent answers to basic questions about the menu items. We felt like we were at Denny’s, versus The Grill Room of earlier visits. We enjoyed our appetizers, but the main dishes were disappointing. The chicken, once the star of the menu, was rather average. And the steak that I ordered, the most expensive item on the menu, was over cooked and very dry (I politely brought this to the waiters attention, but was left to deal with it). Maybe we got off to a bad start by the ants crawling over our outside table and then the rats that eventually chased us to an inside table, but our overall experience was quite disappointing. It’s a great venue, so hopefully this restaurant regains its footing.

The service was mediocre. Our server delivered our cocktails and wine way too slow along with having long wait time for food at each course. The restaurant was virtually empty yet the servers were none existent for most of our dining period. This restaurant is too expensive for this type of experience.
