Reserve Cut at Setai Ratings and Reviews
We arrived at the restaurant with high expectations and the decor as well as the service were roughly in line with what was to be expected from an expensive restaurant.
Unfortuantely the food was extremely disappointing. The salad we ordered (Tuna with Avocado, Mango etc..) wasn't interesting or special in any way.
The big disappointment though came when we received our main course. The filet we specifically asked ot be medium-rare came not rare at all (i am not sure it would even qualify as medium) and completely tasteless. We didn't finish our portions as there wasn't any pleasure in eating our dishes. The sides were OK but overall the meal was a HUGE disappointment.
I wouldn't recommend thsi place to anyone! There are much better kosher restaurants in Manhattan most of which charge much less for much better food.
This was our first time at this restaurant, on vacation from Florida. We were very impressed with our entire experience. A Beautiful restaurant with a high end atmosphere. The food was excellent and all of our steaks were cooked to perfection. Not an ordinary kosher restaurant. This restaurant definitely exceeded our expectations. We would definitely come back again.
Oof. Gorgeous space. Friendly staff. Horrible clientele. If you want to hear tables of men acting like they’re at a football game yelling at each other and high-fiving (with knives in hand) while eating very expensive food, go here if you have the ability to ignore animals with no upbringing. I understand the staff can’t determine clientele but it wasn’t great. Ruined our evening there. Our waiter was lovely. The servers had no idea. “Who had the martini?” “Who had the waygu?” No. Runners should know seat numbers at a place like this. Dint treat 120$ steak like McDonalds #3. We told the manager the servers needed to know where to place orders, and he made a face. A face. No words. Bad night maybe. Great food. Waiters and hosts were lovely. Manager should speak and apologize. The front room and the wine cellar rooms are stunning. Not sure I’d go back. Better for the money.
What a great restaurant! Kosher doesn’t have to be boring and Reserve Cut is the proof! The steaks were all amazing and the sushi was also nice presented and tasty.
Service was friendly , professional and the managers also very accommodating and helpful with the whole experience.
We will definitely recommend Reserve Cut to our friends and be back very soon.
The food was good but highly overpriced compared to the restaurant's competitive set. The service was mediocre. My wife needed to send her food back for additional cooking. They also delivered our dessert without our coffee. Very disappointing experience. We would not go back.
Came here to celebrate my fiance's birthday and we had an amazing time. It was romantic, quiet, and the food was AMAZING. We had the wagyu steak and it was the best I've ever had. I also highly recommend the short rib tacos as an appetizer! This is definitely the perfect place to mark a special occasion.
the place itself was gorgeous..nice nyc lounge vibe. service and ambiance were impeccable..but not impressed w the food. the filet was by no means lean..my friend ordered a rib eye that wasn’t cooked well enough, and they ended up giving her the wrong steak.
This was my fifth or sixth visit to Reserve Cut, and was, by far, the most disappointing. There are limited fine dining kosher options in Manhattan, and Reserve Cut has tried to claim the "top of the chain" designation. My earlier visits were largely good, even though the price was high. But this time, the experience was sub-par.
The best part of the evening was the wait staff. They were friendly, attentive and helpful. But almost everything else was disappointing. Even the noise level (which was never a problem in the past) was an issue, as the distance between tables appears to be more limited than in the past.
I ordered the ceaser salad (way too much mayonnaise and liquidy, with wilting lettuce and soggy croutons) and short ribs (over cooked, and fatty), with onion and potato sides (actually quite good). My guest ordered short rib tacos (they were good) and short ribs -- with the same results as mine.
The bar drinks were less than generous pours, and the wine by the glass choices were limited. We didn't even bother with deserts.
I went to the restaurant with the understanding that it is overpriced -- but virtually every item seemed to be double the price it should otherwise be. I was willing to pay that premium for higher quality, but didn't get it. I won't likely go back all that soon.
