Reserve Cut at Setai Ratings and Reviews
The food was good but highly overpriced compared to the restaurant's competitive set. The service was mediocre. My wife needed to send her food back for additional cooking. They also delivered our dessert without our coffee. Very disappointing experience. We would not go back.
Came here to celebrate my fiance's birthday and we had an amazing time. It was romantic, quiet, and the food was AMAZING. We had the wagyu steak and it was the best I've ever had. I also highly recommend the short rib tacos as an appetizer! This is definitely the perfect place to mark a special occasion.
the place itself was gorgeous..nice nyc lounge vibe. service and ambiance were impeccable..but not impressed w the food. the filet was by no means lean..my friend ordered a rib eye that wasn’t cooked well enough, and they ended up giving her the wrong steak.
This was my fifth or sixth visit to Reserve Cut, and was, by far, the most disappointing. There are limited fine dining kosher options in Manhattan, and Reserve Cut has tried to claim the "top of the chain" designation. My earlier visits were largely good, even though the price was high. But this time, the experience was sub-par.
The best part of the evening was the wait staff. They were friendly, attentive and helpful. But almost everything else was disappointing. Even the noise level (which was never a problem in the past) was an issue, as the distance between tables appears to be more limited than in the past.
I ordered the ceaser salad (way too much mayonnaise and liquidy, with wilting lettuce and soggy croutons) and short ribs (over cooked, and fatty), with onion and potato sides (actually quite good). My guest ordered short rib tacos (they were good) and short ribs -- with the same results as mine.
The bar drinks were less than generous pours, and the wine by the glass choices were limited. We didn't even bother with deserts.
I went to the restaurant with the understanding that it is overpriced -- but virtually every item seemed to be double the price it should otherwise be. I was willing to pay that premium for higher quality, but didn't get it. I won't likely go back all that soon.
My wife and I went for an anniversary dinner, and had a very good time. The staff was nice, our drinks were delicious, the food was terrific -- and all of that made for a lovely anniversary. I don't recommend this place to people who don't keep kosher (too many kosher-related restrictions, like sub-par kosher vermouth), but for those of us who do it's a real treat.
RC is an elegant kosher steak house. As elegant as it is, the service does not meet the standards the atmosphere and prices suggest. RC is extremely expensive. The food quality is good, but not amazing and the service is not gracious. I recommend RC to those looking for a high end kosher meat restaurant but there are better kosher options in NY at better prices and with better food
The service was amazing. The restaurant is beautifully appointed, spacious with a true professional chefs kitchen(you can only peak at it on the way to the lavish restrooms).
All the food was outstanding in quality and flavors, and the steak was the best we ever had.
A special 50th anniversary dinner for two was memorable and delicious!
First introduced as a guest to this upscale kosher restaurant by my stock broker in appreciation of the enormous wealth I helped to provide for him and his firm, I was awed and impressed by the ambiance, quality and service heretofore not readily available for kosher dinners. Since that auspicious first visit, my wife and I enjoy celebrating special occasions there.
This was my second time taking advantage of this amazing restaurant's lunch special while on a trip to NYC. Fantastic service and delicious three-course meal (including a delicious 5 oz. steak) for such a reasonable price + Kosher! My only complaint would be receiving a medium-well steak instead of medium - however it was still so delicious that I really didn't mind.
The ambiance was great.
The waiters were polite and extremely professional.
The restaurant was pretty packed and still the waiting time was definitely reasonable.
I had read in the reviews that the place was elegant so I was planning to dress accordingly, but then on the restaurant's website it said that the place was casual and the dress-code was business casual. I therefore changed my plans for what to wear and dressed more casual-like, and was disappointed to find at my arrival at the reataurant that I could have definitely dressed much more elegant. I wish the website mentioned an elegant dress-code too.
The fried could be a little better;) I paid less at the Park Hyatt for fries, where they are higher quality.
I will surely return and recommend this place to everyone.
