We were sat near the ovens! It was a bit hot, but the food and service was excellent!!
We heard so much about this restaurant and Thursday night was our first visit. Our waitress, Vanessa, was the kind of waitress you wanted your first time to any restaurant. She was very accommodating and extremely helpful in recommending the best of everything on the menu. We immensely enjoyed everything we ate that evening. Among the highlights…the Gruyere beighnets, The white asparagus, little gem salad with green goddess dressing, Dover sole, and the cacio de pepi pasta, to name a few. Cannot wait to return!
Truly one of the greatest meals of my life. The service was outstanding, the sommelier was spot on with her recommendations and the food was out of this world.
Republique is outstanding! Every meal on the menu is worth trying, especially since the menu changes daily. Make sure to do at least 4 to 5 courses or you’ll be missing out!

As always, Republique delivers with spectacular service and perfectly prepared food. The tuna tartare with Kaluga caviar was a favorite! As far as entrees go, pasta is always incredible as it is all made in house. Morels are in season so most of all our plates were garnished generously with morels. For the white asparagus, each morel was individually stuffed with garlic confit. It is this attention to detail that keeps me coming back to LA all the way from SD. Save room for dessert because the basil panna cotta with mango sorbet was one of the best I’ve ever had.
Very good food but extremely overpriced when considering the portions and lack of comfortable seating. Your wine will be short poured as the waitress told me their pours are 1 oz less than “standard” so they can get 5 glasses per bottle. So you pay more, get less and then they feel it’s appropriate to tack on a surcharge to cover their employment expenses. We are the cool place to be so we screw the customer!

Service was listless and completely not engaged - felt like the staff was unprofessional and just going though the motions. Sommelier was inattentive and made a bad wine recommendation, entree came out before second course, everything super disappointing. Was looking forward to Republique because of past experience and reputation, but so disappointed with tonight’s output and production. Maybe too much hubris??

Wildly expensive although delicious
I really didn't like that when we arrived on time for our reservation, they had us wait at least 10 minutes without explaining the reason or offering to go to the bar or offering to seat at the bar or else. In 10 minutes I was too hungry to wait more and asked about the bar seats myself which were available all this time!
I understand all these if we DIDN'T have a reservation, but we did! And we were not the only ones...

My family and I had a great time dining at Republique. While the dining room was quite noisy, the servers and food runners were very knowledgeable of the menu and friendly towards all guests. Great decor in the restaurant as well as energy. The food was something to behold. Well seasoned, appropriately portioned, and innovative food to say the least. I plan on dining again. Keep up the great work.
For us, it didn't live up to the hype. Food is creative but inconsistent and really pricey for most dishes. I usually don't notice that but there was some sticker shock.
Duck Liver Eclairs are great and should not be missed. Wanted to love the Eggs and toast with uni but it wasn't special beyond the description. Pasta was delicious but portion was really small. I think I only complain about that because it wasn't really shareable. Short Rib dish was quite delicious but the meat was 90% fat. Really a disappointment.
Some nice cocktails and an outstanding wine list. While we didn't have wine, a couple of tables around us did and the sommelier was awesome. She had great suggestions and was always near. Service was quite the stand-out here, all around.
A couple of large gathering tables, so I could see this as a great spot for large(r) groups.
Definitely worth a try and although I wouldn't rush there, I'd go back.

Attentive staff from entrance to exit. Lots of communal tables so if you’re not a fan request a private table.
Chefs cheese selection was good - but the runner forgot some of their names and couldn’t tell us what was what.
Ravioli dinner is a small portion but nicely cooked (only about 8-10 very small Ravioli).
The Channel Islands Rock fish sauce was so salty I could only eat half - and I really really like salty things but this was just inedible after a few bites. The vegetables and fish it was served with were very good just wish the sauce was much less salty.
I used to love republique but the food was not on-point this visit.
Republique is my favorite in LA. The seasonal vegetables like white asparagus are a wonderful addition. They know how to make the ingredient shine. And even a wine by glass list that’s always just right.
Original place witt very good food and staff... wines were very good too and were a recommendation of their Sommelier... definitively a reference for dinning in Los Angeles.
