Republique
What Insiders Are Saying
Game-changing, delicious French food in an incredible space in Mid-Wilshire. Hop on the Republique train.
Perfect dining experience from beginning to end
we loved the vibe, food and service. It was a little loud, and we sat in a quieter area. Still loved it overall!
From start to finish, this was the best dining experience I’ve had in LA... our server was great, she was on top of everything including food recommendations that were spot on and paired wines to each course that matched perfectly! And then the food... Literally left us speechless with nearly every dish we ordered. Wow! We’ll definitely be back!
Rude staff and small dishes
Incredible on all levels
Oh my god this place is amazing. Most intensely wonderful restaurant experience I've had in LA. Our waiter was super nice and attentive and gave us great recommendations. Basically you pick out a bunch of dishes and they bring them out one at a time to share, which sounds weird at first but is actually perfect because everyone gets to try everything and you don't get too full at any one point. Favorite dish was the Dungeness crab pasta (again, better than it sounds). And the cocktails were DELICIOUS - try the blood orange gin drink! Best of all, they sat us in a quiet-ish area so we could all hear each other talk. 10/10 would recommend
Great service and delicious food. Our server asked all relevant questions (dietary restrictions, schedule) to ensure we had an excellent dining experience.
Consistency. Every meal, every wine or drink suggestions and the service is always spot on! Thank you and see you next time.
Love the ambiance; the food is delicious; and the service impeccable!
Just like a night in a French village...put with a LA twist.
The service was a tad overzealous, but otherwise it was great.
Just make sure you know exactly where your seats will be. Lots of community style seating.
Food is super fresh and honestly fantastic! If you’re starving, just know that the food is all prepared fresh so if they’re busy, you may have to wait a while as things get prepared. But it’s definitely worth the wait. The service is is fantastic, waiters are constantly coming around offering breadsticks, filling up water, clearing plates, etc.
We were in the back, table for two and we could hear each other fine, but the front room seems very loud and hectic. I can’t imagine trying to have a good conversation at a communal table. Food was fantastic but pricey. Favorite was the octopus salad. 18$ glass of red burgundy was decent but overpriced, 11$ Hibiscus Agua Fresca with ginger was a great adult nonalcoholic option. Great attentive service.
Very busy with loud atmosphere. Not necessarily a bad thing but at times hard to hear my dinner date. The food was great but perhaps a tad expensive. Great service. Will go back for brunch to sample the pastries.
Riley was the best server I’ve ever had. Period.
Wonderful all around
Amazing food. Fantastic service. Great ambience. We had the best time!! Hands down one of the best meals I’ve had in LA.
Wonderful food. Intelligent and skilled service. All around. Romantic. What a delight!
Best dinner I’ve had in a long time. Service was outstanding. Food exceptional.
Always the best. They are my absolute favorite place to go to in Los Angeles.
Ambience is usually perfect, but it’s colder than usual this evening.
The food is amazing so fresh and delicious homemade bread and butter is like being in Paris fresh fresh fresh our waiter was excellent over all 20 out of 10 outstanding
Food and service are awesome. The seating procedure and communal tables are not awesome.
Great food. Service was a bit slow but everything was perfect. Would highly recommend
Excellent everything - food, service, timing! We will definitely go back again. Seated right away. A very attentive and knowledgeable server. The quality of the food was exceptional.
The duck entree was FABULOUS as was the cheese board and service!!!! Will DEFINITELY be coming here again!
Great service but the food is not extraordinary.
Fine food but extremely expensive
Staff was great. Atmosphere was unique. Cocktails were fantastic. Food was a little rich and on the pricey side for what you get. But it’s L.A.
The food comes out too fast. Felt rushed. Need more time between plates.
Perfect apart from no black napkins
Service was unusually slow. Was otherwise very good as usual
The best French food I have had in the US, very authentic, and very delicious. Ambience is unique, evergy is great and the service was really attentive. Adrienne was fabulous and made many recommendations that were all spot on and delicious . I can't wait to go back and have been thinking of all the others things to try. Everything we had was spectacular from the Red Leaf salad, to the Brussel sprouts , Cassoullet and the butternut squash pasta dish. Great find.
Stunning venue. Expert and attentive staff. Superb food. We came back a second evening for cheese and dessert. We loved every moment. Every delicious bite.
Unorganized, was seated 25 min after reservation time . Ordered two items of menu. Dry age rib eye was going to take the “longest “ to cook. Mind you it was ordered medium. So ???? Steak came out 1 hour and 10 min after ordering . When asked if they had a full bar . Answered yes . Requested grey goose or equivalent vodka, only option was kettle one . Staff is clearly overworked or simply don’t care . People sit at tables to talk about life after consuming their meal and hog tables . Horrible . Definitely not worth the money . Much better places for same or cheaper .
Attended République for my birthday and had a fantastic dinner. Ordered the beef short rib which was delicious and perfectly cooked, enjoyed a oaxacan old fashioned as well. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for delicious French-inspired cuisine with a great ambience, their wine list is impressive. I look forward to going back!
I had a reservation for a party of 4 at 8pm on a Friday night. I allowed 1 hour and 45 minutes for dinner as we had a table with bottle service pre-paid in Hollywood for a 10pm performance. We were eventually seated at 9:05pm. Yes, over one hour of waiting (standing) at the host station. Strike 1. Once seated we informed the server that we need to be out by 9:45 and that we had lost over an hour waiting for our table. My sole purpose to try Republique for the first time was to have the prime dry aged ribeye. The server informed that it would take 45 minutes to prepare, I asked even I wanted it rare? She said "yes, 45 minutes". So much for that. Strike 2. I ordered a meat dish that wasn't even a distant 2nd choice. We ordered the medium charcuterie and 3 cheeses, 16 oysters, the duck liver eclairs, bucatini, brussels sprouts, the pithivier and the ribeye cap (not the prime dry aged ribeye) 6 cocktails and 2 beers. Plates started coming out at 9:25 and in no particular order (very much 'out' of order due to our time constraint) We started stuffing everything down as fast it arrived, we quickly ran out room on our table. The last dish (brussels sprouts) arrived at 9:40. We choked down everything in 20 minutes. When the server bravely asked "how was everything" I replied, very sincerely and without sarcasm that she was great and the food was very good (it was, very rich and decadent), but after being seated over an hour late and not being able to order what I came there for in addition to having to quickly shove all that food down, that overall 'everything' was disappointing and mediocre. I have no idea why she thought that was funny, but she laughed out loud. Strike 3 and then some. $441.85 plus a 20% tip (I tipped because I am not that A-Hole) We left at 9:50 (after waiting for the valet), missed the first opening numbers of the show in Hollywood and all had stomach aches for the rest of the night having felt like we'd been in a 4-way tie in a hot dog eating contest.
Fantastic as usual. Everything eas perfect!
Brought my dad in for his birthday and he had the time of his life. Amazing food as per usual! Love the feeling at Republique, everyone has a purpose and you can see the love with in these walls. 💣DotCom
Well... this was our 3rd time there - trying - and failing again - to recapture the wonderfulness of our maiden visit. The first time we went - the food and service was fabulous. The second time, not so much. This time - the salad was terrific - but once again we ordered their signature dish - chicken - trying to recapture how great it was the first time. Then it was served in the pan it was cooked in with veggies and potatoes and delicious jus. This time it was cut up and served in a dish with jus, but no veggies and sliced - not very tasty potatoes came with on a separate dish. The potatoes were flavored with bacon / lardons which - for me - ruined the flavor. They did ask if we had any special requirements at the outset, and had I known the potatoes were going to be heavy on the pork - I would have said no pork. As it is, they seemed undercooked, with no flavor other than the bacon. The chicken was ok - moist - but not crispy on the outside as it had been the first time. The $8 bread and special French butter... the butter was delicious - the bread was fine - but just a crispy baguette, nothing special. I think we're done with dinner there - will move on to trying lunch or breakfast.
Food was DELICIOUS. You can't go wrong ordering anything here. All the spices and ingredients work together perfectly. The best was the crab pasta. However, it is a bit pricey. We got the burrata toast, but each toast was SO small and cost $6. Chocolate cake was great. It melts in your mouth. For a fancy occasion, Republique is great.
