Fabulous!!!! From then friendly staff to the incredible food, everything was superb. Will definitely be back
For years Republique has consistently been perfect. Wine selection, cocktails and food is always absolutely outstanding!
Absolutely fantastic. One of the best, if not the best dining experiences we have ever had. The staff (Adrienne in particular) was energetic and knowledgeable and made our last meal of our honeymoon extra special. I could not have asked for more. Thank you!
Amazing restaurant! Campanelle pasta with lobster was fantastic. I highly recommend!
Loved it, menu was extensive and setting wonderful
Great food and even better service. Will come again for sure.
Ordered tasting menu for two with a shared wine pairing. Am frequent diner at Republique sharing my favorite restaurant with a friend . The food was delicious with generous portions for a tasing meal. The four appetizers, filet of sole and duck breast were standouts and all the wines elevated the food. Attentive, friendly service made for a perfect celebration that my friend is still raving about.
Years after opening, I’m always skeptical of a restaurant’s ability to keep it’s stellar reputation for execution for excellence (Providence, listen up). However, République did not disappoint. From the moment we were seated until the check was dropped and the manager asked how our dining experience was, the steps of service were flawless.
Everything we ate was absolutely executed perfectly. Timing of the courses was spot on.
The leek beignets were airy and the horseradish cream they sat on did not overwhelm them. The simplicity of the Santa Barbara spot prawns and the accompanying buerre noisette were deliciously satisfying. The big surprise for us the the cauliflower dish. The surprising sweet-tart popping of the pomegranates was a perfect contrast to the chermoula and yogurt. Perfect dish! Another perfect dish: the flax seed cracker!!!! OMG
The butternut squash agnolotti was one of the best pasta dishes we ever had. It reminded my wife of weekends her dad would make pasta for the family. That, in itself, is something that makes a dining experience like this extraordinary.
I could go on...
If you haven’t dined at République yet, I suggest you don’t put it on your bucket list. Instead, check your calendar for your next available “Special Date Night” and book a reservation! I’m kicking myself for waiting so long!
Great food with amazing service!
Excellent service, great wine and food and a very cool ambiance
Food, atmosphere, service and
Best restaurant in Los Angeles . Beautiful ambience and stunning food in a historically significant building . Artistic vibe and community . As good as it gets .
Food was great but a bit overpriced compared to other 4/5 star restaurants I have frequented. Service was excellent. Very attentive and customer service friendly.
A very delicious meal and a lovely dining experience.
One of the best meals in LA.
Great service in a great setting and the food did not disappoint. We had a wonderful night. Highly recommend the tuna tartare and caviar, scrambled eggs and uni, & octopus salad with Mellon. Lots of Thai flavors in a French type of execution.
Excellent food and service. Expected slightly bigger portions for the price since food is shared. Noise level was excessive with the music and other conversations. Overall was a wonderful experience with amazing food.
Everything was perfect. The food was great. Every other diner seemed to be enjoying themselves. The wait staff seemed to love jobs. Great experience
Terrific server that was more interested in having us order an appropriate amount of food rather than jacking up the bill. The truffle risotto, while tasty, was soupy. Wouldn’t order it again at the price. Everything was very flavorful, interesting, and delicious. Will definitely return.
Food was wonderful. Unfortunately the people next to us were so loud. Otherwise, I would come back again.
From the moment I walked into the restaurant the hospitality begin. The glow of the candles and the dimmed lighting, the ambiance was perfect. We were treated to a fabulous aperitif and a scrumptious starter. The entire meal from start to finish was divine. The sommelier was knowledgeable and we were able to taste various varietals. I would definitely recommend this restaurant which is housed in the former home of Campanile (1989-2013) and La Brea Bakery made famous by the genius Nancy Silverton.
Delicious, well sourced and well executed food, immense, incredible wine list with great somm support to assist and attentive, knowledge service. A wonderful experience! We will be back when we return to LA.
Food very good at dinner, but guest should be aware that the portions are not entre size, and the focus should be on ordering a number of plates to create a meal. Republique may actually be forthright about this, but I wasn't aware. I felt I should tip off other future guest. Service very good. I thought it overpriced. 4 Pieces of Tuna Tartare cost $42. However, it was exceptional.
Incredible and varied menu. Great for sharing! All pastas salads and the roast chicken outstanding! Try the tequila celery cocktail!!
Service was fantastic, attentive, friendly. Food was even better, especially the tuna tartar, octopus salad and the lobster pasta. Cocktails are a labor of love by the bartender. Our favorites are celery and grapefruit. Desserts were incredible, especially the strawberry cheesecake and strawberry tiramisu (they change the fruit based on season/what's fresh). Go!
Restaurant was incredibly loud. We sat at a community table near the front waiting for our reservation and were practically shouting to hear each other. The food was really good and although our table was a little late, the assistant manager came over with some bites when we sat down. We came this time for dinner, but I have been here many times for brunch and would highly recommend it for that. Probably better than the dinner, but both were quite good.
Incredible food and service.
Best restaurant in LA
Made a reservation 1 month in advance, but were seated at a community table. Food was good, but VERY SMALL portions at VERY HIGH prices. Decent service although a little arrogant. $80 per person including a 4% charge for health insurance and gratuity with NO drinks !!! We will not be back. So sad Odys and Penelope closed up the street.
There are many things to like about this restaurant. They are excellent with allergies. The food, while expensive and small portioned, was delicious. We had the bread and butter with pan drippings, soft scrambled egg with uni, the cauliflower (outstanding), and grouse. There isn't much meat on the grouse, but we tried it as a novelty. I wish we had had the pork instead. Unless you like a great deal of loud music, ask to be seated in the back of the restaurant.
we really enjoyed our visit to Republique. The service was excellent as was the food. We enjoyed the family style seating and eating. Can't wait to come again and try some other creative foods.
Everything was amazing we had 11 different courses. Unfortunately the Ribeye was not tender and the outside did not get a good enough crust. Perhaps cooking on higher heat? I expected a perfect cook on the ribeye for $125. Otherwise all of the other dishes were outstanding, the ambience was fantastic and the Sommelier was very knowledgeable. We had a great time! 🙌🏽
Really amazing place. We went for our anniversary, brought our seven yr old son with us. We all had a great time, really enjoyed the food and presentation. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. we will definitely go again!
Wonderful choices for sharing. Delicious meal!
Republique is incredible. From the expertly chosen wine pairings to the Dover sole prepared tableside, we loved our dining experience. The food is excellent. And the bread with butter and pan drippings....next level. One of my favorite restaurants in the city.
Food and service were the best!!! Must order the pan drippings and butter with your bread!
It was really noisy and uncomfortable. The food was quite good, but there was over a half hour wait between every course. If it was a comfortable "hang" it woulda been ok, but really it felt like torture.
And $34 for 2 prawns is a bit much.
I'd been waiting to try Republique for some time and the reputation of this place was right on. Everything was delicious! We perhaps over-ordered, starting with some oysters, which were quite lovely, followed by their fancy bread and butter- the bread it self was incredible but the fancy butter wasn't life-changing (good, but not insane), followed by the tomato burrata salad - so fresh, light and delicious, then the BEST brussels sprouts we've ever had- literally could eat that every day, and ending with the large pork shared plate, which included enough pork, pork belly sausage, grilled peaches and an incredible corn polenta that we took some home for the next day. The only thing I wasn't a huge fan of was the smoked flavor of the long beans on the main course and the tartness of the figs with the burrata. Since their deserts don't travel well and we were too stuffed to have any there- the kitchen had a slice of the afternoon's caramel chocolate cake we were able to take home - even for caramel fans it was a bit too sweet for us- but the cake itself was quite good. Overall, this place lives up to the hype, can't wait to come back. Hot tip for you- if you make a 5:30 or 5:45 reservation when they first open for dinner, be prepared to wait in line to check in. The line goes quickly and yes, everyone in line has a reservation.
Amazing food! Incredible service and staff. Romantic. Highly recommend as it is better than advertised.
