Food was amazing and always has been it was great to visit it’s been a while. I do prefer to sit indoors the outside space it kind of dull.
We love the Dover sole and butter with baguette. We told our server that the Kumamoto oysters were very good but NOT cold despite being served on a bed of ice. He had no response to my wife's statement. We liked the black truffle risotto but prefer the black truffle pasta with sausage. we enjoyed the amuse bouche. the kitchen is very consistent but al little slower today.
Definitely my favorite restaurant in LA. The food is always amazing and the service is great too. It’s such a versatile restaurant - great for date night, a girls dinner, taking your parents to a nice meal!
One of the best restaurants in Los Angeles. It's only gotten better over its relatively long history. Large, beautiful main room (loudest), rear room, and upstairs. (Outdoor seating was booked for a private party.) We were seated at a prime table upstairs, in a sort of alcove. Food is just terrific. Bread is extraordinary, not surprising to the chef's DNA as a boulanger. Service is A+. It's a near-fortune, but you get your money's worth, sans doubt.
Great variety of food with top notch ingredients. Nice casual atmosphere and a perfect California restaurant. Highly recommend for a good night out.

Had the Black Truffle prix fixe tonight, what an absolute experience. Everything was a hit aside from the brussel sprouts dish. Will definitely be back!
This was our first time eating at Republique, and it did not disappoint! Delicious, decadent dishes; amazingly courteous and thoughtful service. We sat on the patio as we are not yet comfortable dining inside, and they've done what they can with the space (it's a converted parking lot). That said, next time we go, we're definitely going to try and eat inside, as the ambience and decor looked beautiful and exciting while I was en route to the restroom.
The dishes we tried ranged from small and light (grilled octopus with greens) to huge and heavy (Mary's chicken with broccolini and polenta). Definitely ask your waiter if you're unfamiliar, and don't want to order too much and cart an entire entree home in a bag (which we did!).

Everything was outstanding. The service team was very good but our sommelier, Nate, was brilliant. Food was excellent from starters to main plates! Will return!
The food was, for the most part, very good, though we did not care for the parsnips salad and my shortrib was 1/3 meat and 2/3 fat. The rest of the dishes (brussels sprouts, cauliflower, butternut squash pasta, fries, chicken) were delicious. Our server was a bit aloof but the support staff was very nice. When making the reservation, we requested a room in the more quiet area (we were with a client), but we were seated in the very loud front bar area and promptly advised there was nowhere else to seat us. For the kind of money we spent at dinner, it felt way too casual, both with our server's somewhat lackluster attitude and our table's location. I probably wouldn't return for dinner, given the expense.
It was sublime! I had one of the best meals of my life. The food is excellent and well worth the high price. Wait staff and bartenders are great. I highly recommend getting the fresh baguette with Normandy butter and a cheese board. And the apple tart for dessert was delicious too.

Bread and butter was fantastic. So was salad with green goddess dressing. Main entrées unfortunately were mediocre. Did not deliver on flavor nor combinations.
Service, although polite and adequate, felt rigid and inflexible. More concerned with keeping the limitations set than with practicing hospitality. We didn't stay for dessert.
Stools at the front are quite uncomfortable, do not have a back nor is there a hook to hang purse under table. Such a simple thing to add that goes a long way.
Cancelation policy of charging $25 per guest if less than 24 hours, when they are clearly busy and can book table fairly easy felt a bit abusive. I would accept within 2 hours of reservation time, definitely for a no show, but more is too much.
Not really feeling like going back when there are so many other options that are better, deliver true hospitality and where my patronage is welcome.
The food was absolutely delicious. We are looking forward to our next dinner, lunch or brunch. A perfect meal.
Sadly a disappointing experience that didn’t match the hype. Hosts we’re great and friendly. But we were seated under some spotlights so asked if they could be dimmed or could we move. They did in a sad corner table next to bussing station. Food was good waiters seemed confused and overwhelmed which is understandable atm. Mixes up on GF dishes and a very hefty bill. A shame as it’s a beautiful space in parts

Gabriella was incredible and super sweet, made sure everything was coursed out properly. Felipe the busser ALWAYS had our waters filled, he was truly amazing. Lucy the host was super kind and helpful! I think the sommelier's name was Kyla and she was also great and gave us some great recs on port. Was just floored by the service and obviously the food. Such a fan, we will definitely be back
Republique was a real letdown. It definitely did not live up the hype or the $250 price tag. It took a while to get seated despite our reservation, the service was inattentive, and the kitchen was out of numerous dishes on the menu. The food was good but not particularly memorable. We had a much better meal at Cassia in Santa Monica the night before for half the price. Considering that this was supposed to be a special meal during our trip, it was a real disappointment.

I’ve dined here several times for their reading menu. The New Year’s Eve menu was great quality, but I found it very imbalanced- extremely heavy on rich protein, and no vegetables or greens, aside from a small bite that might be plated with a protein. Many dishes came with truffles, which is nice, but you don’t need it on half the dishes- which simply jacks up the price. Also the desert was a disappointment- a milk tea desert that lacked flavor. I’ve always been excited by deserts here, and this did not meet expectations. For the price, I expected a better planned tasting menu.
New Year's eve zdinner
I've never had a bad meal at Republique! It's one of my favorite restaurants in Los Angeles. The food is incredible. The ambiance is great. The service can be slow, but it's also nice to take your time at this place. The only downside is it's expensive. However, if it's a special occasion or you just need a night out pick me up, this is the place to go!
One of my top all-time dining experiences. We enjoyed their special New Year's eve tasting menu (with wine pairing)... and again... a memory I'll never forget!

Food was incredible but there seemed to be a little miscommunication delivery of the courses as we had on three occasions the staff attempt to bring the wrong course to our table. Our waiter was quick to correct but it did leave us a longer between courses than other tables.
We’ve loved Republique for years, always really enjoyed the space, food
and service . It saddens me to leave a review like this, but the Christmas Eve tasting menu left us very underwhelmed. A few courses were good (fish, duck), but the rest was bland , uninspired or just not up to their standards. The truffle shavings on the pasta had no flavor at all - I don’t understand how this was acceptable. Service was mostly good, but a drink order went unfilled and our complaint about the lack of flavor of the truffle was ignored. We probably won’t go back until someone we trust says they had a good experience.
Love the restaurant. Didn’t love the meal nor how it rolled out. Lots of waiting. A couple courses were Mediocre.
Food and presentation were beyond expectation! We did enjoy Christmas Eve dinner. It’s worth to pay for these food and service. We want to go back to the restaurant again! Also recommend people who are interested in this restaurant. Amazing!
