Republic of Texas Bar & Grill
Topped with Basil
Asadero Cheese, Blue Crab Claw Meat and Crostini
Took my wife for our wedding anniversary and had an excellent time. A+
The Buffalo Ribeye was great:)
The service was great and the food was delicious. They were able to accommodate our reservation without a problem. The music was a bit out of character for that type of restaurant. We were seated on the lower level but could hear other people on upper level being really loud. If we wanted that, we would have gone to a sports bar instead of a fine dining restaurant. Overall four stars out of five.
Robert our waiter was very respectful to me and my wife, the menu was outstanding we had the prime rib and rack of lamb. We are definitely coming back.
Ordered a Rib Eye. Zero fat on it, unfortunately. Instead of cutting it, I literally had to saw thru it. It was more like a Sirloin... but even those aren’t as tough as my Ribeye was. I ate my delicious salad and Hash Browns and fed my dog the Steak when I got home. I was so disappointed that I couldn’t even cry.
Great food, great service and great view.. We continue to be impressed by how they are consistent in their food quality and service
Celebrate with my husband our wedding anniversary and it was perfect.
Good was exceptional and the service superb. Would come again when in Corpus.
Great food. Steaks cooked to perfection. Crabcake was phenomenal and big enough for an entree. Amazing views. Service was not great. Waiter would get lost for long periods of time & was not the friendliest. Beautiful bar area. Nice restaurant for a special occasion.
Both the Manager and the Waitress were attentive and excellent.
Had a great time! My date and I had an amazing view just as we hoped for. Waitress was awesome and food tasted great!
It is a lovey place to dine. The service is always fabulous and the food is divine!
Server was so sweet and helpful. Food was delicious.
Called and said dress code was business casual, but when we got there, there was a bunch of people in regular shirts, shorts and flip flops.
Amazing service and great location! I loved the food. However, they dint get my steak right so I had to send it back and by the time they brought it out, I couldn’t eat anymore. Otherwise it was a good experience.
Availability of menu options were disappointing for a $200 meal for 2
Birthday dinner for my wife
Pork Chop was not good. Bad taste.
Service was excellent.
Some of the dishes were cold (specifically the baked potato, which was 10 dollars) was no more than luke warm.
The entre was fairly good, as was my wife's.
The service was ok, but not excellent.
Do yourself a favor and go to Katz 21.
I know I will.
The food was amazing, as well as the service! Will definitely go back
As always, food was great and Christina was awesome. A little different with the situation as it is but hardly noticeable. Still the best place to have a great meal.
Birthday celebration- deep friend beef was mushy....one steak was over cooked
Amazing service and the food was outstanding. The only let down was we were looking for the "jacket and tie" experience and did not realize that baggy pants and t shirts were the attire.
My husband’s rare filet was overcooked. My pasta was undercooked and my shrimp was overcooked. The service and ambience were wonderful and the views spectacular. Such a shame to have a restaurant and staff of that quality with such poor quality food!
I eat here almost every week and sometimes twice. it really is worth the ride to the 20th floor for both the view and the dining experience. the Crab Cake and the Pepper Loin are my favorites. This is the place that will leave an impression that won't be forgotten.
Great service and the food was awesome as usual. The only thing that bothered us was how people had to squeeze between my wife and the column behind her so they could walk out onto the balcony to smoke.
I’ve been here before and the first time was amazing. The food was great, our waitress was great and we had a great view. This second time around however was not as great. I did not enjoy the food as much as I thought I would. The sides were good but the actual meal wasn’t all that good. The chicken I had was very dry. It didn’t have any juice or flavor like the first time I had it. Our waitress also never came to check up on us. It was just very different the second time around. I was very excited to go again but I think maybe this is just a 1 time thing. Maybe in the future, but the republic of Texas was a little disappointing to me this past weekend
Great ambiance...outstanding food and service!
Great place for special dinners.
The view from the restaurant was fantastic. The food was excellent. Started with a Caesar salad. Had the Five Star Pepperlion and it was one of the most tender steaks that I have ever had. It was really good! Ended with the Salted Caramel Chocolate Cake which was really rich.
As a warning....many items are served a la carte. You may order sides, called accompaniments. They are good but really BIG. I ordered the hash browns, which was enough for about four people.
I would definitely dine here again!
I am a very frequent patron of this establishment. The service is always great and the food is too. Don't let the pandemic deter you from enjoying life. From the hostesses, wait staff and manager, you will be overwhelmed with the experience.. oh and then there is the view. Either the Lexington or the Marina views are spectacular. There is a balcony that you can view it all at once.
Very pricey for meal and drinks. I would rather go out to go out to a local restaurant.
Awesome place ,awesome food ,awesome service,my wife is handicapped so they let us use the service elevator, immediately we go into our Goodfellas routine, awesome time,we will be back
The staff was very professional and pleasant and the service was wonderful. The staff was very professional and handled everything in a professional and timely manner. We will be coming back soon
Food was terrible, service tried to make up for it but it’s a place to eat not make new friends
Very nice ambiance and great service. Appetizers were delicious. Entrees were mediocre and overpriced. A la carte sides were undercooked and ridiculously priced. Not sure if we will return.
Anniversary 38 years. Table for 8 by the back window, was fantastic. Waitress needs training on how to run a table and basic communication at a table. Not very friendly and slow. Food was amazing but we were seated at 6:30 and it was after 8:30 before our meal arrived. Yes we had bread and appetizers before that time still a little long. My wife and I were disappointed that we did not get an Anniversary desert after the $800 bill. Still the food, environment and family celebration was very much enjoyed.
Let me begin by saying that our server and her assistant were outstanding. They were very attentive; our glasses never ran empty. The views are spectacular as always. Also the host staff was able to accommodate us at a larger table. And my wife and I's personal course, the Chateaubriand was savory and delicious, impressive.
Now for were I recommend to ROT that they can improve: 1) I've always known Republic of Texas to be an upscale restaurant, but the temporary paper menus printed from an office printer did not rise to my expectations of this fine establishment. At the very least they should be printed on better quality paper. 2) The shrimp and broccoli were under cooked and since we were very hungry we didn't bothered sending it back and my parents shared a plate instead. 3) There is a large round table placed directly in front of the balcony door which makes it uncomfortable when going outside for pictures. Not sure if this was pleasurable to the guests at that table with other guests brushing past them. 4) Our guest ordered a whiskey in a glass the bartender failed to inspect. We found a bug or something in it. We did send it back and it was replaced. 5) I didn't hear any music. There used to be a pianist before. 6) On Open Table I clicked the drop down menu indicating "Anniversary," it was our 1st, but that little detail got lost in the sauce.
Final Thoughts: Overall, despite the short comings listed above, we had a very enjoyable experience and look forward to dining at the Republic of Texas again. Kudos again to the server staff and to Chuck the Valet!
Whenever there is a festive event, such as anniversaries and birthdays, you definitely have to think about this beautiful restaurant, there is a lot of tranquility, the first-rate food and the spectacular attention.
The whole experience was wonderful! The food, the service, everything was great!
