My husband and I went for an 8:00 reservation and were seated quickly. However, we had terrible service! The waitress took our order after about 15 minutes after being seated, and then we didn't see her again until we got our food about 45 minutes later! We only ordered entrees and it took almost an hour to get it after ordering. We were still eating at 10:00 when the house lights went up, signaling diners to finish their meals and close their tabs - but we had just been given our food! We drove in from Port Aransas for a nice meal and although the food was good, we couldn't even find another waitstaff to flag down to get refills on water or cocktails. Won't be going back!

I went to dinner for a business meeting. The Republic of Texas definitely delivered last night. Nick, our server, was fantastic. The food hit the mark as well. The Caesar salad is prepared perfectly without too much dressing. I was really pleased with the filet mignon.

Was met with a happy anniversary from the greeter and drink a couple of great drinks exactly how we ordered them as we waited at the bar for our reservation to come up and was then taken to our table and greeted with another happy anniversary. Great service great food awesome taste And friendly service all around

Republic of Texas really outdid themselves. The food was OUTSTANDING. Everyone loved the food. Our server, Nick was very attentive and went above and beyond making sure everyone had what they wanted. Just a really great overall experience. Of course we will be back.

Steaks are lame, tasteless, it feels like you are just chewing meat, service was ok, nothing outstanding only the view. We say we were celebrating our anniversary couldn’t even light the candle in our table. Couldn’t even give us a better table with a good view at least to see the city. When I made the reservation I ask for petals and candle you could have call me before to tell me there was not going to be that or even to tell me you could with extra charges. Thats the only reason we went there. Every time we go we hope it gets better but actually it doesn’t.

Our experience could best be described as clunky. Our waiter was sat with 4 tables all at once causing his service to be a bit scattered. One of our appetizers came far later than the other. Almost think it was forgotten. Our drinks were slow to be refilled or replaced. Our waiter apologized profusely but it made for a cluttered dining experience.

1 of 2 of our steaks were cook correctly. Food took 45 min to come out, drinks too 10-15 per order as well. Steak that was ordered medium rare, came out well done, offered to take another 45 min to recook. I declined and was only offered a dessert for the poor steak. Then they brought out the dessert To Go and was missing parts of it, waiter said of well sometimes they get burned and forget them. Lo and behold 5 min later we had the missing items. So we had poor food and poor service from a Steakhouse that is supposed to be fine dining. Spend your money elsewhere. Feel free to contact me to make this right.

Our experience was not optimal during our last visit. We managed a last minute reservation, but we had to use the service elevator and walk through the kitchen to reach our table. Not recommended for guest who use assisted devices for walking. Wait staff, hostess, and servers friendly and professional. The food was not as expected from prior experiences.

We waited over an hour for food which was completely unacceptable. We didn’t order any appetizers and asked for the food to be delivered all at the same time. The steak also was not cooked at medium but rather medium rare. To top it all off the table next to us who came in an hour after we did, had their food delivered in a matter of minutes. The whole experience was pretty absurd and disappointing, hopefully this improves in the future.

Waitress/waiter kept getting things wrong, ask for 3 root beers got three cokes, when needed something it took forever to get. When food came out every single persons meal at our table was luke warm/cold. Oh and my appetizer came out 30 mins after my entree.

The filet was fantastic. Sautéed mushrooms need to be served in a skillet. Green chile Mac and cheese is wonderful. Old Fashioned was good, but the caramelized brown sugar on the orange was a distraction. Views are unparalleled.

Very good overall , but what could have been better : 1- We reserved a week in advance, had to confirm twice , and were still sent to waiting area prior to being seated (restaurant was not busy) 2-There was a very long delay from time of ordering entrees until serving (perhaps 1.5 hrs.) 3- Food was only warm when it arrived, but by then we were too hungry to have it heated

Food was good , a little pricy but ok for a once a year outing. 12$ for a baked potato is a little outrageous. Views was good service went down hill when the waitress found out we weren’t going to order drinks or wine. When first arriving the person that handled the seating said the the seater she had just given our table away. We was not late in fact we was 15 min earlier than our reservation time. Was really cold

Huge disappointment and not the way i wanted to celebrate my 31 yrs anniversary. To start on a positive note, my wife's lobster was excellent. Now the disappointment, i order medium rare steak and received medium well. Staff offered to remake steak so watched my wife eat her meal than her dessert. Has i watch her eat, i notice i had a huge gnat at the bottom of my old fashion drink. Staff offered me another drink. Took so long to receive my steak that i told the staff to cancel my order and to give me my bill so i can pay and leave. Around that time they brought my steak out. Told Staff that i wasn't going to eat it and i wasn't going to take it. This place used to be special to us. We've been coming here the last 11 year to celebrate our anniversary. Now i have to find another place to celebrate our anniversary meal.
