    I enjoyed our meal and experience. Our reservation was 20 minutes over. The view would have been amazing, but the window condensation was an issue. Overall, the bone in ribeye was fabulous as well as the Gulf Mojito. Our waitress was fabulous! I also enjoyed the live music they had in the bar.

    The amount of money charged does not equate to the quality of food given. Classic steakhouse fare is offered, however, done in mediocre fashion. The good: Or server Wes was not pushy and allowed us time to enjoy our dishes. My filet was a perfect medium rare, the creamed spinach was flavorful, and the creme brulee and pecan pie very tasty. After our meal, the woman at front desk was nice. She had our ride waiting for us by the time we got down. The bad: The lobster bisque was bland, crab meat mac & cheese was dry, and the drinks from the bar inconsistent. The ugly: The first woman who greeted us at the front was not inviting, and seemed to be annoyed that we wanted to have a drink at the bar while we waited for our table. Not sure what the rush was considering the restaurant had many, many empty seats our entire time there. Also they didn't come to look for us until almost 7:30 pm even though our reservation was at 7 pm. All in all, kind of disappointing for our anniversary. I've had better meals at Niko's and The Olde Steakhouse on Alameda. Their attempt at high end falls short when compared to Bohannon's in San Antonio and Prime Steakhouse in McAllen, but it's about as high end as one would expect here in Corpus Christi.

    Perfect location to enjoy an evening of romantic rendezvous with that certain someone paired with some delicious drinks that make you want to spend a long weekend enjoying the view of the bay and take in the city skyline.

    I had the Buffalo ribeye with the garlic and bone marrow topping. Sides were brocolini and crabmeat mac n cheese. The wife had the catch of the day (haddock) with mixed vegetables. Appetizer was escargot. Everything was amazing! service was excellent and the view was lovely. We will definitely be back!

    Visiting CC from Austin and found this place for a nice fine dining. Kristina was superb. She took care of us. Service was excellent. Foods were scrumptious. Thanks to the cooks that made our dinner so tasty. Dining area was so inviting. The view was gorgeous.

    The Bone in ribeye steak was a big disappointment it was tough and poor quality. My bill was $161.00 plus tip for a bottle of water, a a couple’s ribeye and vegetables and a glass of wine. The staff was pleasant and the ambiance was nice, but the food was pitiful and overpriced. I won’t go back.

    This place never disappoints. The food, service, and atmosphere is always top notch. The prices are on the high end but the food is well worth the price. The Brussel sprouts with pork belly is my favorite side. I will keep going back for that alone, although the whole menu is fantastic. We went to celebrate our anniversary and they made sure to help us make it memorable. Don't miss out on this place if you are visiting our great area. And if you are looking for a great hotel, The Republic of Texas Bar and Grill is atop the Omni Hotel which is a great place to stay when you are here.

    The price for entrees was a bit extreme. The restaurant is relying on it ambiance and location to support the pricing. The food was prepared adequately, but nothing stood out as ‘amazing’. The servers were above average, as they should be given the size of tip connected to the pricing of the menu. The hostess was not very gracious and presented herself similarly to someone working at a lesser expensive steakhouse.

    Steak was over cooked and gray - lamb was cooked properly but served cold - the server was terrible- never checked on us until dessert - not even to see if steaks were proper temp (they weren’t!) - the water/ bread guy saved the day. Not the best special occasion experience - no recognition of the occasion - excellent sides - pecan pie was great - sad the service and steak was was so bad

    Hostesses and waitress rude, disrespectful when i politely asked them to repeat something. Waitress slow and then bad timing/pacing skills. Didn’t check on us and when she did I let her know that Tomato Napoleon didn’t have the red onions on it. Body language and blow off response. Our entrees were there at this time. Dinner though pricy, was not the quality for the price. I had very high hopes of this restaurant and none were met including table location. The best thing about this restaurant is it’s great name. Was celebrating my wife’s and my birthdays. Sad experience. No second chance will be given.

    I must say after reading some of the prior reviews about delays in service we had concerns about keeping our reservation. We decided to try it any way. Our waiter, Robert was pleasant, knowledgeable, and appropriately attentive to not only our table but to other tables he served. He timed serving our drinks and appetizers to match the beautiful sunset, and continued attentive to when he reappeared at our table to take dinner orders. The presentation of appetizers and dinner were excellent We took Robert's advice and we were not disappointed in both the scollop and the ahi appetizers. They were out of the fresh fish entree that I wanted to order having looked over the menu prior ( Robert alerted us at our seating) and was pleasantly surprised at the Ahi ! The blend of the green curry and soy reduction paired beautifully to complete the fresh taste and aroma of the Ahi. Hats off tho the kitchen. I do agree with a prior review that the restaurant decor is a bit dated; and I'd strongly suggest the OMI address this need to freshen up the space; however , with the multiple levels, placement of the bar and live entertainment at the entrance area, and the sunset view, you can overlook this issue.

    We celebrated our 41st anniversary last night and this was our first time at the Republic. I must say the shrimp, scallops and lamb were the best we have ever had. The service was impeccable as well as the beautiful view of the bay. The desserts were absolutely delicious. I must commend the Manager as we were leaving she took our picture and congratulated us. We will definitely be back next year to celebrate again!

    Food came out cold, our soup had a film on top like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for a while. Waited 45 minutes to get our bill, we had to flag another waiter down just to get our bill and we had to order drinks from a different waiter because ours went missing for so long. Our reservation was at 6:30 but we were not seated until 7:00, we were told our table was not ready however at that time the restaurant was pretty empty. Also - had to get a new soup spoon because the one I was given had crusty food on it that I could not scrape off. Great view though.
