   Brittney & Staff were all so kind & clearly so perfect at their jobs . She took her time treating us like the only ones in the restaurants . The food was emaculate ! Celebrated our 4 yr Anniversery & were treated to their decadant choclate mouse desert which was AMAZING ! 5 stars for eveyone ! Even the Music players who clearly loved Elvis , everything was wonderful !

   Predinner cocktails were excellent. Appetizers were very good too. But the steak (pepperloin) was very disappointing to say the least. Definitely NOT a $50 piece of meat.

   We were really looking forward to our meal but were sorely disappointed. The views are spectacular the food, not so much. We ordered a filet medium rare, the green curry ahi tuna, a side of mashed potatoes and a side of broccolini. The steak arrived medium well and the tuna was very bland and a little fishy. The broccolini was very undercooked and not edible. The mashed potatoes were great as was the creme brûlée we ordered for dessert. Our server was nice and did a good job. Unfortunately good service and a beautiful view don’t make up for the food. We definitely won’t be back.

   The actual restaurant is fantastic and we visit every time we’re in town and entertain our clients here. But this night was a bad night with very bad service, cold food and did I say that service overall. Took over 3 1/2 hours to have basic business dinner. Not what we expect.

   They accomodated us and our young ladies and it was such a treat for our baby girls to have such a magical experience. Our waiter was so wonderful and treated them like they were adults! Which is something they very much so desire- us mothers want to slow it down. Overall experience was fantastic!! We will be planning more events like this in the future for our young ladies as they transition into little women! Thanks so much for the wonderful service, all the staff was PHENOMENAL from the Vallet, to Hosts, to all the serving staff. We will most definitely be back!

    Over all it was nice, my food was not how I asked for. My plate was brought out the first time, I said it's not good needs more time on grill. The lady told me just cut it and see, so I did, and it was red raw. I asked for medium well, a light pink center, it was bright red. They took it back, and it came back out. Basically, not any better looked like all that happened was a torch was used on it. Again, they took it back. For the 3rd time, it came back out and still wasn't right. At the point, I just kept it and said I'll just eat it." I figured after it was burnt on the outside, I would just get a new stake, but no, the same stake was brought out to me 3 times and was wrong each time.

    You really can't beat the view at The Republic of Texas. So you will have to decide for yourself if the view on its own warrants the prices. It was my 3rd time there for dinner and the food was fair but nothing remarkable. My previous times, the food was definitely better. This time around, the appetizers were reasonably good. I had the Orange Roughy and it was good but way too salted (and I like salt!). My spouse said that the salmon was good. The gratin was really subpar with the wrong cheese being used and pretty much uneatable. We passed on the dessert as there were no gluten free options. The waitress was reasonably efficient but not very attentive nor friendly. I would probably still recommend it to a friend but with a big footnote next to my recommendation.

    My wife and I had an extremely pleasant experience here while celebrating our anniversary. The food was excellent, the staff was friendly & courteous and our overall experience was one we will remember for years to come!     After all the hype, we decided to celebrate our anniversary at this restaurant. Service was subpar as our server lacked in friendliness and she did not seem to care if we needed anything. The steaks were excellent but it ends there. The oysters republic were cooked beyond an acceptable and palatable level, they smelled very chemical-like. For an appetizer, they were extremely unappetizing and so chewy, I almost spit them out. The brussel sprouts and pork belly was disgusting. The sprouts were, again, cooked way beyond what normal food should be cooked at, they were crispy and burnt and the reduction they were cooked in tasted like sugar water. The pork belly was tough. The bread was warm but lacked salt. The beef steak tomato napoleon was way over-smothered with pesto. Our server lit the candle at our table just before we asked for the check. I attempted to get her to warm up and it was only then that she finally decided to chat with us. We won't be dining here again.

    The service was great and the food excellent. We had the rack of lamb, filet mignon, asparagus, mashed potatoes and a complimentary (anniversary) chocolate mousse dessert. A perfect evening.

    The food was classic steak house and the meat was superb, properly prepared and top quality, all the dishes were best in class and the service was perfect and friendly. This is the best resaurant on the coastal bend.

    I'm honestly conflicted about writing this review. The food, as usual, is outstanding. Our server was more than adequate. The hostesses think they're at Chili's. Please please please teach them some common courtesies or how to address their guests. Why is it, the first thing I'm told is that I can only have one drink at the bar and that tab has to be closed before I move to dinner? It's baffling to me, not only the demand but the way it was communicated to me. Why is the restaurant almost always empty even when no reservations are available? I don't understand what has happened to our beloved Republic of Texas.

    Beautiful view. Bar tenders were very friendly and knowledgeable about their selections. Food was disappointing as our steaks came out over cooked and the au gratin potatoes were still crunchy/raw. They were also out of several food items. We’ve eaten here before and it has been great but this visit was semi disappointing

    We celebrated our 33rd wedding anniversary at the Republic of Texas Bar & Grill in Corpus Christi. We were visiting from San Antonio and had a delicious dinner with a stunning water/city view from the top of the Omni Hotel. The food and service was exceptional and our evening was perfect.

    We chose to celebrate our son’s USMC winging ceremony here for dinner and was not disappointed! Party of 8. Excellent service.     As a returning customer I can’t help to tell that the food quality of the restaurant has slightly declined. We had the filet and a bone in ribeye. Filet was slightly over cooked and ribeye undercooked. Filet was tender and flavorful, ribeye was tough, tasteless and extra fatty - it didn’t feel like a Prime wet aged steak. We love the au gratin potatoes that said this time they were undercooked - we appreciated the courtesy of them being removed from the check. It was also an special occasion, neither the host nor the waiter acknowledged our celebration until we asked to have a picture taken. We were expecting high end food and service and were somewhat disappointed with the experience.

    Dined here for our last night on our babymoon. We had a reservation and was seated very fast. We were asked our drink order very fast. And that’s where the good services stopped. We ordered and waiting an hour for our food while our drinks were only filled once the whole time sitting there and only checked on once. Let alone this restaurant has a waiter assistant! We received our food and the food was good but not worth the price. My husband got the chef special filet mignon 3 pieces of shrimp and 5-6 pieces of asparagus and I ordered a steak and baked potato we did both get a soft drink. Our total before tip was $170! We have had way better meals with alcohol and appetizers for way less. Our waiter even noticed that she did not serve us well and brought us a slice of cake to go. The view is amazing but defiantly recommend being there before sunset. Music was too loud. Over all a good experience just not good enough for a $200 meal.

The wine and cocktail selections are varied and exciting with complementary menu offerings. Stellar dishes are served promptly and with simple “family-style” presentation.
