The location/view is beautiful! The restaurants atmosphere was elegant. The service was excellent. Wine list was very good as well. The filet mignon was great. The chocolate mousse delicious. I had a wedge salad which was also great. If I could leave a little suggestion on the asparagus, it was peeled and therefore had a slick texture that was unappealing and needed seasoning. The mashed potatoes also lacked any seasoning and both were left uneaten. Overall we greatly enjoyed our experience here and would return knowing the side dishes just weren’t for us.
Our waitress was outstanding. Jasmina was attentive. She did seem a little overwhelmed at times though. Seems there were a couple of managers that would have been better served helping the staff instead of both helping the hostess greet guests.
The view spectacular! The food average. The service great!
Excellent service , we enjoyed ourselves as we celebrated
Best food and service ever. Definitely worth the prices.
The food and view was top notch. It was a little odd walking through the noisy bar to get to our table in a fine dining establishment. Our server was professional but apparently new. He had to write our order down and was not very attentive. Our busser, on the other hand, was very attentive and a joy. I wish I had gotten his name.
Everything was wonderful it was our first time experience there and we loved the drinks the food and Chris was great , we also enjoyed the music
Our anniversary date. They were out of so many items on the menu. We did get a free cake that was vanilla confetti but it was pretty dry. Next time we may call ahead to see what they have.
Wonderful view and fabulous menu. Bar has excellent mixologists! Would have liked a little music during the meal, as I was told there is usually a piano player? Also, dress code should be better enforced. Don’t like to see ball caps!
The food was terrible. We took our three children there for the first time as we were celebrating
The view was beautiful, food was delicious and service was outstanding.
Our server Mathew was very knowledgeable and professional. We love this place for many reasons! Highly recommend
We were seated quickly, but that was the end of the speedy service. A meal for 2, including a soup starter and entrée took 2 hours to serve and by the time our dinners actually arrived, we were RAVENOUS! Low table to wait staff ratio, and more often than not we watched staff chit-chat idly at length in groups, so the slow service wasn't due to peak volume. At least the the view of the bay was outstanding while we waited.
Dinner came out lukewarm. My med-rare steak was med-well...I would guess from carry over heat and sitting around too long. Brussel sprouts and pork belly side had chewy, tough sprouts. Rack of lamb was excellent, however, if a little cold.
On the advice of the reviews here, we ordered the lobster bisque... but it wasn't to our tastes. We found that the hot sauce overpowered the flavor profile, a one dimensional thin experience, and needed more fat. For us, it missed the mark on the rich flavor decadence of a lobster bisque.
Overall, the meal and service were exceptionally underwhelming, certainly not worth the price of the meal (~$350). We've had consistently better quality meals and service at Outback. My advice: go appreciate the view and skip the "fine" dining experience.
Amazing always a good time when we have dinner and celebrating
Filet mignon melts in your mouth. Service was excellent.
Possibly the worst fine dining experience I’ve ever had. The food was “okay”, the service upon entry at hosting station was wonderful but once we were sat everything deteriorated. No water refills, bread left through duration of meal, no app plates removed, we were passed back & forth between inattentive waitstaff like it was the golden coral buffet. After waiting for 20 minutes after our bill was thrown on our table, we had to take it to the front to check out with no apology. I was told “just right your complaint in there,” in response to expressing my dissatisfaction. For $400 on 2 people, I’d expect far better. Shame on you Republic.
Our waitress was Incredible. Impeccable manners and attention to detail were what took our dinning experience over the top. Food was very good and the view just cant be beat. A table near the window is a must. Was a special night for us with mom dad, and my son and his family. Well Done!
Wonderful food and ambience.
Great wine list
This is a wonderful place to celebrate special life events. We dined here for my birthday and the staff made it very special.
The food was very disappointing. I ordered an oyster and spinach appetizer and kept finding broken pieces of oyster shell mixed with the spinach. I wanted the halibut as an entree, but they were out, and was recommended the Chilean sea bass as an alternative which was fine. What I got was NOT Chilean bass! I know what Chilean sea bass looks and tastes like. The fish I was served was a small skin-on filet with grey mushy meat. After I complained to my server, he came back to my table, after talking to the chef, and told me it was not Chilean sea bass, but was a different kind of sea bass. Go figure! At least I was comped. The food quality and questionable professional wait staff service do not merit the prices this restaurant is charging for their menu items. I absolutely would not recommend this restaurant!
We loved our evening at Republic of Texas. The ambiance, food, service, view and piano music were spot on. Can't wait to go back!!
We had a great birthday celebration
Overall very good. The wait staffs aprons all looked dirty , just something we all noticed.
Views are great!
The service was great. However, our food was not. The steak was grisly and hard to chew. The desserts however were wonderful.
Clean and good service. Overall great dining experience.
Very good food, drinks, service and scenery. I would be back in the near future.
Always a good time with great food and people with the best view and best team
It was great. Food and ambiance was outstanding. We’ll definitely be back.
Wonderful! Cesar & Nick were very friendly & professional. Buffalo Rib Eye & the NY Strip were the best and the sides can't be beat.
Great place to eat, food is delicious, scenery and the outside view was very nice and the staff is very friendly.
Everything was wonderful!
Excellent cocktails, service, food
The view and restaurant decore was awesome for our annivesary. Waiter was great and staff really nice kept drinks filled. Crab cake appetizers really good along with free dessert for our annivesary. I was not going to raise a fuse butt i order a $69 bone in ribeye steak at meduim rare and it was meduim to meduim well and half fat and gristle. My wife said her fillet was not up to pare with saltgrass after meal. Sides were so so. For a $200 meal for two I expected a lot more, maybe seafood was better but their steaks are not half as goid as salt grass.
Steak had to be sent back a couple of times as it was over cooked and then undercooked. Other than that, the food was great and the service was amazing
Great customer service from all during our visit. Staff was friendly, courteous, attentive and provided us with a fantastic anniversary experience.
Thanks to everyone from the time we arrived, valie service, to being greeted, seated and making us feel welcome.
We really love The Republic of Texas but this time the food just wasn’t the deliciousness it normally is. We go each year for our anniversary and we “splurge” but this year seems not up to par. Maybe just an off night.
Escargot was cold and tasteless. Served on top of a piece of toast.
Our reservations were for 8:00pm in which we were seated within 5 minutes of our time. We ordered the Ribeye for Two. The entire meal was perfect ! Our waitress addressed every question we had and made perfect recommendations. Because we expected the meal to be large we split a salad in which they accommodated without hesitation. In fact the meal was so large for the two of us, we brought some home for a second meal the following day. This was our first experience here, but will certainly not be our last.
Our server was extremely helpful and attentive. Your Republic of
Texas Bar & Grill made our 50th Wedding Anniversary very special.... Thanks
