Great food, great presentation. I wish they had vegetarian dessert options.
Our waiter was delightful and helped steer us to great meals. Even took a great photo of us.
Overall Resposado has a great vibe and the service overall was exceptional. The staff was attentive and worked as a team to serve, check on water and needs, clear the plates, etc. At the beginning we felt a little bit rushed, but after asking if we could enjoy a slower pace the waiter obliged.
The Cochinta Pibil (pork marinated in achiote & citrus slowly braised in banana leaves) was absolutely awesome. Fall off the fork tender, flavorful and juicy. The jasmine rice was by design creamy, but felt a bit mushy.
Came here for my birthday 8/10/2018 and I was really disappointed. I’ve been here a handful of times and overtime the price has increased. I don’t mind paying for $30-$50 a plate but their portions and presentation was definitely not worth it. Their drinks were not good at all. It was watered down and very little alcohol. The drink I ordered were $15 per cocktail, I expect some alcohol and not juice. My group had them take back 3 drinks. I don’t think I will ever come back. So disappointing because I really liked this place.
Reposado is a happening place - action packed. Love margaritas and guacamole. Also enjoyed, street tacos and chicken Mole.
Love this place. Great food, amazing drinks. Get the guacamole for sure. I get the crepes mariscos- they are always delish.
If you want to be seen at a scene this is your spot. If you want good Mexican food for a reasonable price - it’s not. $20 margaritas is insane even for Palo Alto standards. I’m a local and can say this with confidence.
I took my boyfriend here for his birthday. We had a great table by the window and we were greeted by the waiter promptly. The margarita was enjoyable albeit outrageously expensive at $22!! We ordered chips n salsa and two other apps: pork belly and one of the ceviches. The chips were saltless and semi-stale tasting. The 3 salsas were average. I didn’t eat the pork belly but the ceviche was so bland we ended up calling it at appetizers, paid the $100 bill and left. I would return for drinks if someone else was buying but otherwise I have no reason to return. Disappointed.
This is our favorite Mexican restaurant. Mexican, not to be confused with Tex-Mex; this is not a place to go for a quick taco or burrito. The bar scene is always lively and the drinks are well made. There is an upstairs balcony which is great for hosting larger parties.
So so so loud. Could not hear friends talk. I mean loud. So loud they even turned music up which made it worse. Asked for a different table was told NO. It was for 5 people and only 3 of us. I had resservstions for 3 or 4 days.
A lot of corporate. It has lost its unique friends dining experience from my point of view. Been going 10 years.
Waiter super nice but couldn’t get to us enough.
Very social loud atmosphere.. not a place to converse without raising one’s voice or yelling bc of loud music and poor acoustics.. Tasty margarita and crepas con mariscos (seafood crepe). Nice refreshing creamy corn soup. Ribeye was tough (even as medium rare).
Great restaurant, but was a bit noisy, and drinks were a little costly. If the noise could be reduced would be great.
I took my daughter there for her birthday. I had mentioned that in my reservation. They did not make note of it. The restaurant was VERY noisy and sunlight was in our faces (it was so strong people had to move around).
Food was mediocre. Sun at our table was way too bright as it was setting. Half the table couldn’t see and was squinting, trying to block the sun from their eyes. Restaurant should get shades. Sad to say, not a very enjoyable experience.
Noisy but vibrant atmosphere with plentiful quantities of good food ample-sized drinks. Very fun and festive.
Great environment, a bit loud but very comfortable and friendly. Food was excellent as was the service. Will definitely return.
This was one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. As my ratings show, everything about this restaurant was a waste of my time, energy and $, starting with the food, the watered down Mojito and the overall ambiance.
I will encourage anybody and everybody to stay away from this overpriced nonsense.
Great spot - excellent food, lively atmosphere, good service!
Delicious food in an inviting atmosphere. The service was quick and competent. Had the shrimp empanadas which were terrific. The guacamole was accompanied by various salsas and all were delicious. Not the best for a quiet date since it's a bit noisy, but for a fun group get together, it's ideal.
Excellent food and service. Not inexpensive but fair enough. Good ambiance and decor, plus a good bar. We’ll go back.
The entree prices were quite steep. We were able to order apps and drinks and it was quite filling.
First time ad will definitely come back. The waiter recommended a dish I was interested in and it was delicious! We weren't rushed at lunch. Relaxing and enjoyed it very much.
The food is always good here. Fresh, tasty entrees, huge choice of margaritas and other cocktails, good service, famous guacamole, etc.
I also like the atmosphere: open, airy, with big open windows facing Hamilton Avenue in downtown Palo Alto.
It's just too expensive. Maybe that's now just a Palo Alto thing, but the menu prices seem ridiculous. It's a big, energetic place with a nice bar scene -- not a quiet, fine-dining experience.
Our first visit. Very high prices. Beet salad short on beets, but excessive undistinguished cheese cubes. Nice bread pudding dessert.
If you are looking for authentic Mexican food experience, this is not the place for you. It has been flavored down to suit the American palette. The service was definitely noteworthy but the noise level seemed too high to have a conversation without feeling the need to be loud.
At least once a year, we have dinner at Reposado before enjoying an evening of Jazz at Stanford. Always have great service and a super tasty meal. Personally, I do not enjoy spicy food. I had their chicken mole dish and the tastes were awesome; complex yet not overwhelming to my taste buds. Definitely something I would have again. My husband enjoys spicy foods and he really enjoyed his entree. They will also tailor foods per request. We always begin with a cerviche ; yum....
The noise level in the downstairs dining room was intolerable--we were able to get a table on the second level which was somewhat better but people still had to yell. Everyone enjoyed their entrees very much--I can recommend the crepes with crab and shrimp. Prices seem a bit high. For example, $12 for less than a cup of guacamole and some chips--at that price you'd think they could at least prepare the guacamole at your table. Service was prompt and adequate.
Birthday dinner. Great good & Service, but noise level unpleasant. Even though we were upstairs.
The food was outstanding, and while the drink menu was impressive, it, like the food, was expensive. The servers were total professionals and very accommodating. the total experience was excellent, and I will return.
Interesting dishes and food quality was quite good. However, I felt it was way overpriced and we will not be returning.
Bday lunch. Quiet during day. Always delicious margs and quac. Enjoyed the street tacos too.
The food was over priced but not bad. We had crepas con mariscos and it was a simply ok. The appetizers were far better (the hamachi tartare and dates).
We took visitors from San Diego for lunch, & it was one of our nicest visits there. We ate in the bar by choice which was quiet and our waiter was the bar tender who delighted us! Great time, nice meal.
Not your run-of-the mill Mexican restaurant. Excellent food, outstanding Tequila!
The noise level was a little too high....takes away from the fine dining experience. The Owner should install a few soft. sound-absorbing finish materials on the walls. Presently, all the materials, on floor, walls, seating and ceiling are hard materials.
Everything good, but way overpriced.
Great host staff - very willing to work with my party. Everyone at the table loved their meal. Cadillac Margarita was excellent.
Very tasty food and good service. I got the Cochinita Pibil, which was very hearty and pretty hefty (could have shared it with someone else).
Surprise Bachelorette Party and the food and drinks were amazing! Thank you for a fun night!!
Outstanding food. My al pastor torta was delicious and the guacamole fresh and tasty.
