Reposado Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
The drinks and ambiance were wonderful but the be honest the food was a big let down. Everything was pretty bland and the quality of meat was not good at all. We felt like for the price it should have been much better. You can get much better Mexican food for much less. We will probably not return.
Great tasty food!!! Seriously some of the best upscale Mexican food I have ever had, but it is pretty pricey. It’s going to be around $50 per person for an appetizer and entree. Cheapest entree is $29, most expensive is $49, most of them are around $34. We had a party of four, everyone got an entree and we split guacamole and chips ($14!!!!) and everyone paid around $43. Super good food, just it’s a bit pricey. Service is good.
We really thought the food was delicious but were disappointed about the happy hour. We met there before our dinner reservation and only having one margarita available for happy hour at a Mexican food restaurant seemed silly. The discounts for happy hour we just as silly. Not a true happy hour for sure. This was our train commuting holiday
They have a very interesting and varied menu with lots of choices. We were a party of 5 and all enjoyed our dinners. We arrived on the early side but the place really filled up as it got later. It, of course, got VERY noisy then. But we look forward to dining at Reposado again
Food was really good but they were not able to get us a table even at the time we reserved it for. We had the reservation at 7:30pm but got their very early ...around 6:45pm. We grabbed a drink and were waiting to get seated. They told us that there was table coming up and would be able to seat us early but they could not make that happen. The worst thing was that we were waiting/standing with the customers until almost 7:50pm. THIS IS TERRIBLE!!
Service was fantastic, very friendly. Food was decent, a little simple but the meat was cooked perfectly and the dressing was delicious. It was very loud. The wine and food was overpriced. No vegetarian options. Few dairy free options. Lots of wheat-free options. I’d go again with friends, but not with my mom or on a date.
Our table was in the busiest spot in the restaurant even though I requested a table out of high traffic area. People were standing over us waiting to be seated. It took almost 15-20 minutes to get my bottle of beer. Not a mixed drink a bottle of beer. I t took the waitress a VERY long time to return to our table the very few times she interacted with us. Once near the end she actually said are you all ok AS SHE WAS PASSING BY. My and my friend's dinner was cold. My friend asked if the seared ahi was "spicy" to which the server said no. I love spicy food so when I tasted it was ok for me, not someone who didn't want spicy. I gave half my dinner to my friend. Will not return. Plenty of authentic Mexican restaurants with good, warm food in our area.
Seated at awful table right at the front of the restaurant- it was literally a folding plastic top table with a tablecloth that swayed when you put your glass down on it. Wtf?! The birthday girl didn't want me to make a fuss so I didn't and I regret it deeply.
The drinks are VERY overpriced - same with the food that is really mediocre at best. Service was scattered and our entrees arrived 8 minutes apart from each other.
The restaurant itself is gorgeous and the people watching spectacular but our bill was $250 for 3 people (we shared guacamole, each had an entree and split a bowl of sorbet for dessert). One margarita each. I'm no cheapskate but Good grief!
I have been going to Reposado since they opened years ago. It's still good. Service is great. Love the guacamole and chips. Street tacos are good. Don't like the tamales - they are not traditional and a bit dry. Could use better masa. But the reason to go - the Passionfruit Margaritas are the BEST in the Bay area. They are not on the cocktail menu, but as long as they have the passionfruit puree, the bartenders (who are really talented!) will make them. If you don't like them too sweet, tell your waiter to make it "heavy on the passionfruit, not too sweet". It's hard to drink just one...or just two:)
This is a popular, energetic restaurant with great food. It's alway packed and the service was very good. The only criticism is I think it's over priced for the kind of food items served. Most of the ethnic entrees are $30 or more not including salad or other, desserts are $10, coffee to espresso $5-7.
I've always really enjoyed meeting friends at Reposado because the food is good, the staff is attentive and if you time it correctly it's easy to have a conversation with your dining companions. I've turned many people on to this restaurant, and they've enjoyed it every time.
