Reposado Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
They have a very interesting and varied menu with lots of choices. We were a party of 5 and all enjoyed our dinners. We arrived on the early side but the place really filled up as it got later. It, of course, got VERY noisy then. But we look forward to dining at Reposado again
Food was really good but they were not able to get us a table even at the time we reserved it for. We had the reservation at 7:30pm but got their very early ...around 6:45pm. We grabbed a drink and were waiting to get seated. They told us that there was table coming up and would be able to seat us early but they could not make that happen. The worst thing was that we were waiting/standing with the customers until almost 7:50pm. THIS IS TERRIBLE!!
Service was fantastic, very friendly. Food was decent, a little simple but the meat was cooked perfectly and the dressing was delicious. It was very loud. The wine and food was overpriced. No vegetarian options. Few dairy free options. Lots of wheat-free options. I’d go again with friends, but not with my mom or on a date.
Our table was in the busiest spot in the restaurant even though I requested a table out of high traffic area. People were standing over us waiting to be seated. It took almost 15-20 minutes to get my bottle of beer. Not a mixed drink a bottle of beer. I t took the waitress a VERY long time to return to our table the very few times she interacted with us. Once near the end she actually said are you all ok AS SHE WAS PASSING BY. My and my friend's dinner was cold. My friend asked if the seared ahi was "spicy" to which the server said no. I love spicy food so when I tasted it was ok for me, not someone who didn't want spicy. I gave half my dinner to my friend. Will not return. Plenty of authentic Mexican restaurants with good, warm food in our area.
Seated at awful table right at the front of the restaurant- it was literally a folding plastic top table with a tablecloth that swayed when you put your glass down on it. Wtf?! The birthday girl didn't want me to make a fuss so I didn't and I regret it deeply.
The drinks are VERY overpriced - same with the food that is really mediocre at best. Service was scattered and our entrees arrived 8 minutes apart from each other.
The restaurant itself is gorgeous and the people watching spectacular but our bill was $250 for 3 people (we shared guacamole, each had an entree and split a bowl of sorbet for dessert). One margarita each. I'm no cheapskate but Good grief!
I have been going to Reposado since they opened years ago. It's still good. Service is great. Love the guacamole and chips. Street tacos are good. Don't like the tamales - they are not traditional and a bit dry. Could use better masa. But the reason to go - the Passionfruit Margaritas are the BEST in the Bay area. They are not on the cocktail menu, but as long as they have the passionfruit puree, the bartenders (who are really talented!) will make them. If you don't like them too sweet, tell your waiter to make it "heavy on the passionfruit, not too sweet". It's hard to drink just one...or just two:)
This is a popular, energetic restaurant with great food. It's alway packed and the service was very good. The only criticism is I think it's over priced for the kind of food items served. Most of the ethnic entrees are $30 or more not including salad or other, desserts are $10, coffee to espresso $5-7.
I've always really enjoyed meeting friends at Reposado because the food is good, the staff is attentive and if you time it correctly it's easy to have a conversation with your dining companions. I've turned many people on to this restaurant, and they've enjoyed it every time.
The Margaritas are excellent! We shared apps and made a nice meal of them. The dates were by far my favorite, but we also had tres ceviches, empanadas, meatballs, and a cheese quesadilla. I think prices were fair - they seemed high, but I am not from California and other restaurants I went to on this trip had equivalent price points.
We have dined here many many times over past several years and have appreciated the quality of ingredients they use. Last night was a disappointment. As always, we ordered tre ceviche and seafood crepe. Both our orders last night were served with stale seafood. We expressed our concern to the manager who unfortunately did not seem to care.
We have been here many many times. One of our favorite places in Palo Alto. Unfortunately they changed the menu and must have changed chefs.. worst meal we’ve every had. There were 4 of us, no ones meal was edible. Steak was tough and hard to chew, vegetarian bowl was so spicy it could not be eaten, chicken mole was dry and bland, Red snapper/shrimp blue corn tortillas were disgusting. Sorry to say this place went from a favorite to a probably never go back again. I hate it when places change menus and think it’s better.. or chefs..:(
Reposado is one of my absolute favorite restaurants, but tonight I have to say I was pretty disappointed. I ordered a salad and it came with three measly croutons and the rest was just lettuce. I didn't say anything to the food server because I didn't want to cause a problem, but I was really dissatisfied with the amount of food for what I paid.
Unfortunately our experience was pretty much ruined by a child about three years old screaming at the top of her lungs for the entire two hours we were there. We asked our waiter if he could speak to the manager about it and all he said was "I'm sorry about this". I didn't want to further reduce our experience by speaking to the manager myself. Had we been alone I would've told him to either speak to the parents or we are leaving. This is not Chucky cheese and it wasn't just a couple of little outbursts. For management to let this continue is very revealing.
The restaurant was not crowded and we have not seen his friends in sometime - we wanted to spend considerable time catching up. We left because of that screaming kid. My husband and I who patronize this restaurant often we're left with without much desire for wanting to
Then to top it off I get a notice from OpenTable NOT happy with us for NOT honoring our reservation when we actually DID honor our reservation. We DID check in with the very indifferent young woman at the front desk
The interior is very nice, open and airy like a loft, with subdued lighting. However, service was slow and spotty. Chips were finally served with 3 types of salsa, which all tasted good, however they filled us up too much.
In appetizers, guacamole was average. Hamachi ceviche looked nice, but portion was too small to make much of it. They had no beers on tap. We ordered glasses of margarita, sangria and pisco sour. They were just ok, served in small portions again, so given their price ($12-15), not too satisfying.
For the main course, we got the chicken mole, but it was quite dry, with very little sauce and the chicken came with skin and bones, so not quite enjoyable. The lamb chops were cooked extremely rare (they never asked) which we did not like. The accompanying vegetable mash and salad was good, though. Sesame-crusted tofu was better, but overall dinner impression was not favorable -- made worse by the fact that entrees were priced at $30-40+.
So while we enjoyed the ambience, we would not return due to underwhelming food & drinks, priced steeply and served lazily.
