Rendezvous Bistro Ratings and Reviews
Visit on Feb 14, 2018. Food was good - NY steak, tenderloin and chopped salad. Came in on time and as requested - medium rare for the meat. Deserts were also good. Only thing I did not like were the noise level - we could not hear each other; tables were too close to each other - so not even a "restaurant" type of privacy and the drinks - my coctail came in an "orange juice" glass mostly full of ice... where was the coctail? Other than that, service was good - the server was attentive given that it was very, very busy.
We had a group of 10 after a day skiing in Jackson Hole. The manager was very accommodating and brought out a little snack after we had to wait on our table for the reservation. We were bummed because they were out of a few items but we had a later reservation. The food and wine selection was great!
Hey... it's been here forever. But while other dining establishments may have come (and some have gone), RB keeps doing an excellent job. A great and varied menu. Our whole party really loved it. If you have forgotten about the Bistro, it is time to rediscover.
After coming to the Bistro for many years, we found the current menu and the food quite disappointing. Only one vegetarian option for the entrees, and the "daily special" has disappeared. The fried chicken was as good as ever, but the salad (artichoke hearts and feta cheese) and other entrees (duck confit, cod, and mac & cheese) were average at best. No pasta option on the entrée menu.
We had a "dinner for 2" gift certificate. I had scallops (nice sauce, fresh spinach) and Peter had Duck Confit (dry, not much taste, but red cabbage was good). We had calamari for an appetizer. You get a very large serving (would have done OK for 4) but I felt they were over-breaded. I guess what I dislike is the noise level. We got there at 5:30 so it took a while to fill up - but when we have been there at prime time the 2-person tables are so close together that you are a part of your neighbor's (usually silly or stupid) conversation. We are locals, and do not go to the Bistro more than 2x/yr. because of that.
Celebrating my wife's Birthday, and she has always like the Bistro, made a reservation and arrived at our allotted time. Hostess seated us and the first wait person with water were very pleasant, but went downhill from there. Our server came up and clearly his attention was else where from greeting a leaving table of about 6-8 people, barely going over the specials and not making them noteworthy, we ordered drinks, when he came back he only had my wifes drink, I thought there was a small backup at the bar so I didn't get my beer yet. We ran out of bread waiting for our entrees, they were delivered by the food runner, and the server NEVER checked up on us till our plates were done, nor did a manager to check in as well. He came back asked if we wanted a dessert and when we asked for it to go he just sighed. Runner ran it out after about 15 min of waiting. Server delivered the bill and luckily my beer I ordered wasn't on it, hosted came and grabbed the check quickly and we got up. Went and grabbed our coats and thats where the manager for the night asked about our night while obviously multi tasking, I stated what happened that the server was obviously paying MUCH better attention to the other multi person tables than us, drinks not being delivered etc. he was like a deer in headlights, didn't know what to say or do. All he said was well had I known I could have done something. We are locals, more than likely we will be back, but this evening celebrating a birthday the service was VERY LACKING!
Our waiter clearly did not want to be there and he was very inattentive. Also my pork chop was so undercooked I couldn’t eat it. The awaited removed it from out r bill without question when he saw it. I live in Jackson and it is a bummer that the Bistro seems to be stagnating, there was a a time that I really enjoyed dining here.
Really enjoyed The bistro the other night. Food was delicious and the manager took special care to move us away from large table with screaming kids. The black cod fish was delicious and my husband’s chicken was also very good. Just a good experience overall!
