Remlik's Ratings and Reviews
Visited Remliks on a business trip and found it to be a great find. The locale was interesting ; right in downtown. The food was great...some of the best Cioppino I have ever had as well as the lamb chops. A little noisy for a quiet meal but the service was very nice and attentive.
Enjoyable meal, with wonderful service! Crab cakes were very good, and sea bass was flavorful, just slightly over cooked. Wedge salad and French onion soup were both very good!
Noise level was a little loud, partly due to the high ceilings, but ok. Can't speak highly enough of our server, wonderful and great timing all evening.
Food was GREAT. if you are looking for a quiet dinner for two, this is not the place. very noisy as night went on and kept getting louder. historic building and visual items are remarkable. Service started out very good, then got progressively worse and by the end, could not get our water refilled let alone get another drink. did not go there to save money, we spent plenty and the least they could do is keep us with a full glass.
When the other reviews say the noise level is loud, it is an understatement, especially when there are screaming children of inattentive parents nearby. The restaurant needs to hire a sound engineer asap to preserve the incredible look of the building and ceiling and yet allow guests to have an actual conversation. The service is impeccable and food good, so it is a shame the experience ends up less than stellar. We went for a birthday celebration. The token was a heartfelt spoken birthday wish from the staff twice, but not even a cookie with one small candle. We left a little disappointed.
Pleasant surprise in Binghamton. While picking up our daughter from sleep away camp in Hancock, NY, we stayed the night in Binghamton as it was the closest we could get to where we needed to be. I checked Open Table and only four restaurants came up in Binghamton and after reading all of the reviews, we choose Remlicks. We love to dine and are most definitely foodies, so we were so happy we came to find Remlicks. From start to finish, the service was excellent and the food far exceeded our expectations. I asked for some recommendations from our server and he suggested the pork chop, well, I could not have been happier that I listened! BEST PORK CHOP I HAVE EVER EATEN! We started with Remlicks chips, oysters and the Caesar salad, all delicious, but that chop...WOW! Great atmosphere, great service, and truly delicious food. The highlight of our time in Binghamton.
The service and food were outstanding. A little bit more than we usually spend for dinner, but well worth it. The Chilean sea bass was to die for. Better than lobster as far as I am concerned. My wife loved the scallops served over tasty mashed potatoes. We will definitely be back.
The noise level has gotten so high that I will be thinking twice before returning, and we were in one of the two back rooms! Were we to have been seated in the main dining room, the noise level would have made it near impossible to hear anyone at the table. And that is too bad, because the food is very good.
We really enjoyed our meal and drinks here. Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. The beef tartare appetizer was delicious. I ordered the special, scallops and filet kabobs, all were cooked to perfection. The drink list was quite extensive and delicious as well. My friends and I were very impressed and happy with our experience.
