Experience downtown dining in this bright contemporary restaurant that garnered LS3P Associates an ASID Merit Award in Institutional Design. Located in the Culinary Institute of Charleston’s Main Campus, skilled CIC students produce and serve the creative cuisine. Diners may select either a day featuring the diverse dishes of the Americas produced by Chef Donald Barickman’s American Regional Cuisine class or one featuring the global flavors of world fare from Chef Randy William's International Cuisine class. Various regional cuisines are offered as well. Offering both lunch and dinner service (when available), The Relish Restaurant Group® Dining Room provides the most attractive value and venue in the neighborhood. (Please note: Because both the dining rooms and the student-run kitchens of The Relish Restaurant Group® Restaurant and our sister restaurant 181 Palmer are classrooms, the days and hours of operation are determined by the college’s calendar.)

Great place for a meal. Food was a delight.. the only concern was the centerpiece was too tall which interfered with conversations... this is one place all should try for a memorable dining experience

We celebrated my wife's birthday with a couple of our close friends at a noon meal. The restaurant was part of the Trident Tech Culinary Program where students are involved in all phases of a restaurant operation. A three course meal was served. The food was well prepared and delicious. Service was outstanding....Recommend this restaurant to all...will be going back again next semester...

My son is a student in the culinary arts program and we were curious to experience his class environment. It was very professional and we enjoyed seeing the students working in the kitchen. The portions were perfect for lunch. I had the Halibut, delicious, my husband had shrimp and enjoyed it. The panna cotta portion for the dessert was a bit too much for me. The service was timely, professional, and friendly

Our server Enrae was fantastic and the food delicious!!

Yes, we would recommend Relish as long as you are patient. A high point of coming to Relish was buying pastries from their bakery shop, it was not open. We understand it is a learning environment, but the servers were really under manned, it was difficult to flag one down for assistance. Meal started with dry biscuits, they used to serve artisan breads. First course we had roasted beets and charred tomato, both were great starters. Second course had amazing chicken with farro, the other plate was delicious ravioli and smoked salmon which had to be sent back as it was uncooked and cold in the middle. Dessert was a great selection of cheeses and crackers (would have been better with french bread and butter) and "chocolate pudding" forget the name. The pudding was flavorful, but rubbery. Good experience but "been there done that" and no need to go back for the same menu. Basically a "one and done" place now.

I was there with a party of 4. We had reservations for 11:30am but they didn't open up the doors until 11:45. We were waited on promptly and our server was very courtious. The first course was very good, but I had pork loin for the entree and it was so salty I could barely eat it. The dessert was chocolate panna cotta, which I love, but it was very rubbery. Hazelnut Lattee was delicious.

We enjoyed a wonderful experience. The meal was beautifully plated and delicious. Our server was extremely courteous and polite. The staff and cooks were all students under Instructors supervision, but overall this restaurant was far superior to a lot of restaurants I've dined in.

We were not greeted / seated promptly. Breaded Calamari was served cold. Service was slow and somewhat impersonal (Axxx) two of the three entrees were poorly prepared and lacked substance. The roast pork tenderloin was OK and chutney flavorful. Hostess tried to make everything right, but you can't poor food prep. Sorry guys I expected more. The bakery / Cafe was a lot better.

We have eaten here twice before. This was the best meal yet! The crab cake was very good, the Virginia chicken was tasty and moist, and the collards were tender and prepared perfectly.

My friends really enjoyed dining at Relish for lunch. The price was ridiculously low for the service, meal (the whole package) that was prepared compared to what we would have paid at another restaurant.
Hats off to our students!!!

Wait staff are learning so made for a slow response to each table assigned and need to learn how to handle plates and glassware. Noticed involved hands on rim if glasses. Spilled half my drink and did not offer to get me a full glass. Bowl of soup served less then 1 cup not even a 1\4 of a cup..not given a spoon. Many customers had to ask for spoons for the soup. Should not be served in a large bowl, if less then a cup. Curry vindaloo not tasty just too much smoked paprika for heat. Curry should be flavorful. Bowl served in should not be handled by the rim. The food was too overpriced for the lack of flavor. It was not even worth a $5.00 price tag. I'm being critical because I'm a retired caterer with a great track record.

This was a rare situation - the food was too spicy. The main entrée was spicy but everything else was great. I've been here 15 - 20 times and this is the first time I couldn't eat all the food because of the highly seasoned dish.

The food was wonderful. The value was exceptional and we had a wonderful lunch experience. Looking forward to our next visit. The staff were so cordial and accomodating. We met the supervisor who answered all our questions about the restaurant. We would defintely recommend this for a very pleasant lunch experience.

The food is always impeccable but service can be hit and miss. Alas it's a learning experience for students so I don't mind the hiccups along the way. I wish Relish was open for dinner, even if it were just a few days per term.
