Relish Burger Bistro - The Phoenician Ratings and Reviews
Had a great view of the golf course. Very creative yet approachable burger combinations. Southwest Cobb burger had delicious layers of flavors: avocado, egg, habanero jack, bacon, jalapeno ranch, etc. Tater tots were perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Prickly pear & jalapeno margarita was SPICY but good! For dessert, I usually don't like churros, but their combination with salted caramel ice cream and dulce de leche swirl was awesome. Come hungry!
The staff were disinterested in service. The room was very loud. The food was average at best. They undercooked my food and as it took so long the first time I didn't want to wait again for it and they still charged me for it. Worst meal we have had in phx.
It was a perfect venue for a business lunch. Nice casual and relatively quiet - noise level low for good conversation. A one hour lunch was doable and the food was very tasty. No an overly complicated menu but lots of choices. View and outside dining was nice.
Our dinner on the patio was greeted with extremely loud diners in the private dining room such that carrying on a conversation between us was difficult at best. Although we were seated on time, it took our server almost 7 minutes to introduce herself and take our cocktail order. We were almost ready to leave when she appeared with no apology for her tardiness. Our burgers were good but the tots were served warm not hot like they should be. Our server remedied the situation and all was good again.
Relish is the "delish" golf restaurant of the luxury Phoenician Resort. For a few hours you can feel like you are on a vacation looking out the second story restaurant vista. They offer interesting named burgers and comfort food in a casual setting. Food is tasty, very ample, and served by happy wait staff or so it was our experiemce. We were not in a hurry, the dining room wasn't full, so she gave us plenty of time to sip our glass of wine and order when we were ready. We both had the Rubens which we both boxed up half. All in all, it is a fun afternoon of enjoying the essence of Scottsdale/Phoenix resort life.
My girlfriend and I came here specifically for Thanksgiving dinner, and, we could not have been more disappointed. The food came out barely warm and portion size was extremely small. The turkey was below average in quality, dressing was mediocre. The best part of the meal was the appetizer salad that was ordered separately.
We went here for our son's birthday and we were not disappointed. The burgers were unique and cooked as requested. The flavors really came through and the sides were just as good. Everything was fresh. We had the table side smores which was fun, but would get a different dessert next time as the marshmallows were not the best. The outside patio overlooks the golf course and the service was great. We will be back.
We had a friendly server when she came to the table. She rarely checked on us and even after food was brought to the table(by kitchen staff), it took over 10 minutes for her to check in to see how our meals were. As a matter of fact, I was served the wrong salad so she had to take it back and get the right one fixed. I didn't get to eat with my wife as a result. The food was good on a positive note. The kicker was it took 15 min to get our check because she was setting up the bar. We were flat out forgotten. No discount for wrong salad or length of delayed service. It was the lowest tip of our 10 day trip!!! I would recommend for the food but not for the service.
Your service was impeccable. We were looking for a quite relaxing atmosphere and this was PERFECT. This was a once a year event for the four of us who have been friends for 50 years. We sat and shared for five hours, your establishment accommodated us with grace. Cameron was our server, he was great.
We eat here all the time, as we live on the same street. It's located next to the golf course, so it has beautiful views of the course. They have a great beer list. There burgers are amazing, but there's a gem on the menu; three small tacos. They are delicious. We always end up ordering one or two more orders. I heard they're not on the menu. I'm holding my fingers that's incorrect.
One of the best meals of my life and I am OLD. The view of the golf course from our second story table was outstanding.
Celebrated my son's birthday and it happened to be Restaurant Week. $33 for three courses !! The bean dip appetizer was to die for. I tried the Cowboy Burger which was excellent. The only drawback was my wish of medium rare turned to medium at best. My wife had the chicken sandwich which was good but once she tried a bite of my burger she knew what she should have ordered.
Service provided was excellent and the afternoon weather could not have been better.
We went to Relish because we had a dining card that gave us one free meal. Candidly, this will be our last visit, because, even with a free meal the cost was way out of line with the quality and value. It's a burger place, and, at the pricing, the burgers should be top notch. Not even close; it was a relatively thin patty that had minimal flavor. Recently, we had two burgers and coleslaw at Zinburger, a Fox restaurant. Yes, it was happy hour, but the burgers, sweet potato fries, and slaw at Zinburger were exceptional, and we walked out paying half of what we paid at Relish [even after getting one of two burgers free at Relish]. Sure, the Relish setting is lovely, and the dining room is more attractive, but, overall, we were far more impressed with Zinburger.
Pros: Wonderful location. Very nice views. Very comfortable ambience. One gets a sense that most of the patrons are regulars, almost treated as family. Aforementioned food quality. We like the kobe burgers and the classic kobe selection, build-your-own burger style.
Cons: There is some kind of kitchen instability which reflects unfavorably on all the wait staff. Having once figured out the heart of the issue, feel confident I can communicate it. It's pricey, $60- $70 incl. gratuity for a couple burgers and root beers.
