Reina Ratings and Reviews
Lunch for four $200. Couldn't use all of Gift Card? Scallops delicious but $28. for 3 medium scallops on puree sweet potato? Tea $3. Coffee 4oz. cup $5.00. Bottle of Reisling $36. In Germany a bottle of Reisling in a restaurant would be E7.00.
Portions not enough. Even with desert, we left hungry. Food was delicious just not enough for the main entree. Waiter was friendly and his service was good. He was a salesman who pushed menu items for extras.
Not sure I would consider Reina again only because there are so many other restaurants that are as delicious but a better value. Overall, we enjoyed the food and how it was prepared. But, we didn't think the experience at Reina was worth the expense.
This is a very nice-looking place that was recommended by a "know-it-all" friend. I expected a Latin-influenced menu since it is labeled as "Latin Bistro" somewhere in a magazine or internet and the name implies Latin food. The food is more generic American which is fine. My friend had the crab cakes (he liked them very much) and I had the lamb chop (a total MESS of overly-fatty lamb chop, slices of hard-as-leather pieces of lamb (?) and a mix of vegetables in the middle with 1,000 dressing). Very disappointing evening.
The family took the mom's out for Sunday brunch. I picked Reina's this weekend and wish we had found it sooner. All I can say is wow to everything. It has been a long time since every dish and beverage was spot on. Alex our waitress was wonderful. Drinks - Peruvian coffee, Fresh squeezed orange Mimosas and fresh brewed iced tea. Meals - 3 French Toasts w/ apples and bacon made with 9 grain bread, 1 eggs benedict and 1 crabs benedict. And complimentary chocolate donut bites to start. The French Toast and Mimosas were the super stars but again, WOW. If you are looking for brunch in Frederick. Give Reina a try, just leave a table for us!
We love Reina. At the risk of letting the whole world in on our secret, it's a completely under-appreciated gem in the heart of Frederick. We found it by accident and now go there pretty much exclusively. Food is fabulous, original and often locally sourced. Service is amazing. We just love it. But, shhhh! Don't tell anyone!
Servie was at a perfect pace not too fast not too slow. Scallops were over the top delicious. Crabenedict was nice portion and steak and eggs was cooked to perfection. They have a back patio which looked nice but we enjoyed the white table cloth service inside. It was my mom's birthday and they brought her out a candle....that was it a candle, no ice cream, no cake; just a candle melted onto a dish - was very strange. I would go back anytime just not for a birthday
Reina is a beautiful place in a great location but our experience was not good. We were the only party in the entire room and it took almost an hour to receive our meals. My friend ended up sending her pasta back because it had a very odd taste. It ended up being over $50 per person which I felt was way too much for our experience.
The service here was amazing! I live in LA and wanted to set up a dinner date for my parent's anniversary who live by Frederick. I called Reina and the staff was amazing in helping to set up this date night. They offered a romantic table, candle, flower and set up a bottle of champagne before my parent's arrival. They allowed me to pay over the phone, called to confirm reservation and request before the reservation, called me after to confirm final price, and were a pleasure to work with. I believe the 2 people that helped me were Katie and Kimberly and they were such a help, and pleasure to speak with. My parents said the food and service was great and they absolutely loved the experience. I'm planning on going there on my next visit back. I'd strongly recommend this place!! Thank you Reina!
Food and service were both very good (although the restaurant was not busy). Eclectic menu with dishes to appeal to a variety of tastes. (Unusual to see Kung Pao Chicken and Pork Schnitzel on the same menu). Beet Salad was excellent, fried green tomatoes were average. Desserts were creative and tasty.
Came here for Mother's Day. The garden in the back was nice. The food came out late due to "computer issues" but I figured the server could have told the kitchen? The coffee also came cold. The environment is very nice and the hostess was accommodating for where we wanted to sit with a toddler and a baby.
The food, beverages and service were excellent, and our table in the back looked into the garden...too bad it was a little chilly to dine outside. The only drawback was the noise level as there does not appear to be any soft surfaces to reduce the noise. We were seated next to a table of 6 or 7 and they were having lively conversation with lots of laughs. Nice folks but we were not unhappy when they finished. Reina was a good value and we'll go again when we come back to Frederic.
Excellent food and service! I had scallops, they were perfectly cooked and served on top of light fluffy butternut squash ravioli. My husband had filet and short ribs; so tender you could cut them with a fork! We also had dessert which was equally as fabulous!
We had a table in the front which was great for people watching. Highly recommend!!!
I visited Reina during Frederick Restaurant week. It was my first visit but it definitely won't be my last. I chose the fixed price menu for Restaurant Week. My app was a roasted beet salad with goat cheese and candied walnuts with a cool twist. I won't ruin it for you. Trout with farro for my entree. Fish cooked perfectly. The farro was tender and chewy, as it should be. The macadamia nut tart was the perfect sweet finish. My guests enjoyed the burger and the filet mignon, enjoying both.
As good as the food was, what really made the experience was the service. Sean took care of us, making sure we had everything we needed. He remembered all of our names throughout the meal and never once rushed us. He made us feel like guests, not customers.
In addition to Sean, we were also taken care of by Katie (I think). I had spoken with her earlier in the day, as well as during dinner. She couldn't have been nicer.
