Reilly Craft Pizza & Drink Ratings and Reviews
Rob and the staff at Reilly make this a comfortable and welcoming dining experience. Great food—attentive service, awesome beer and wine list - cocktails too . Love the pizza and salad and the Brussels Sprouts are the best of any place I have had them. This place is consistently my favorite place downtown.
First time visit before a concert at the Fox Theater. My bill for 1 person totaled $56, which I found to be on the high side. I ordered a garden salad, which was excellent, and a pasta entree - tagliatelle bolognese - was good, but not excellent, as well as a glass of wine. At the end of the meal, I ordered an Irish coffee; however, they didn't have whipped cream for it and I was billed separately for a coffee and for the whiskey. They used regular coffee cream. They also do not provide bread service, so I had to pay extra for bread to accompany my meal. Would I go back? Maybe. Honestly, I chose Rielly because it was Sunday and the other restaurants nearby were closed. The one bright spot was excellent service.
After a long day of traveling, we made it to Reilly Pizza for a 7:00 reservation. We were seated right away, inside (had I known, I would have requested outside). Our party of 4 had wine and beer. We shared a marinara pizza (no cheese, but we had it added; a little bland, but great crust and flavoring) and the arugula pizza (definitely a hit). Also enjoyed the kale salad and a stuffed pasta. Will definitely head back next time we are in town.
A nice place to have a casual dinner downtown as it is within easy walking distance of the Fox theatre and even the convention center. There is a parking garage directly across the street from it also. It is located in an older building but has modern updates that enhance the antique atmosphere. ( I read somewhere that it was a funeral parlor at one time but cannot verify it) We ate in the main dining room and there is also an outdoor beer garden and a lower level bar so take your pick! Pizza was good with very good crust and tasty toppings and they had a good (but expensive -$8 pint) beer selection. Enjoyed it but went early and the main dining room was already fairly noisy even though it was only half full. Our waitress was delightful so all in all it was an enjoyable meal.
This place was amazing! My husband and I met up with some friends and had pizza and pasta. So freaking delicious. I loved our waiter. He was knowledgeable and took good care of us. He even recommended some drinks. :) Will make this a place I will come back to many times!
We had a nice time and the food was delicious. However, there was a large, distracting TV playing at the bar, which you could see from just about anywhere in the restaurant. It seemed very out of place in what would otherwise be a very nice, cozy atmosphere.
We were seated at a round table since we had a party of 6. The restaurant is so loud that we could only hear the people directly next to us and couldn't have a conversation across the table.
The salads and Brussels sprouts were excellent.
Pizza was OK. Crust was delicious, but the red sauce pizzas were pretty bland and lacked flavor.
Very Disappointed since I have been here before. Our service was terrible even though he made like he was our best friend. It took forever to get food or for his attention to fill a glass. He was too busy with other tables.
The oxtail was not as expected. It was very greasy and shredded. I thought it would be served as most oxtails are in one piece of meat vs shredded meat. They did not say shredded on menu either. It was room temperature not hot. It also was kind of pasty. Then I had to ask for grated cheese to give it more flavor and that took forever so it was cold now. So I am eating greasy heavy shredded cold oxtail and cold pasta. My husbands pizza was not as good as before and we have decided not to return. Too bad to loose another restaurant on our list.
Pizza is the best in Tucson. Cute venue that used to be a mortuary. Always great service. The big downside here is the noise level. If the music were not so loud, people would not have to yell at each other. I had a sore throat from talking so loudly to my husband. We might sit downstairs next time due to the noise or take the pizza to go. We love Reillys except for the noise.
We were bringing a friend (new to Tucson) to Reilly's and we all ordered the fennel sausage and pasta. Two of us ordered the pasta to be gluten free. It was so delicious, I felt like licking the bowl! We also had the mixed greens salad and that was also perfect. No dessert this time, we were full. But I know the desserts have always been very good in the past visits. Service was excellent, the food arrived in record time, but the noise level made it hard to hear each other. I will always return, love Reilly's!
I love Reilly and have eaten there many times -- the food and service have always been top notch, but my last visit was a disappointment. Food and wine were great as usual (I had the potato/pecorino pizza and a half order of the radicchio salad - two perennial favorites) but the service was totally lacking once my food was delivered. It was clearly a very busy night, with a private event going on in the beer garden, but it seemed like the staffing levels weren't adequate to handle the crowd.
No one checked on me while I was eating, and it took a lot longer than usual for waitstaff to clear my plate once I was finished. The couple sitting next to me were also kept waiting for someone to greet them once they were seated, too. I waited a very long time for one of the bartenders to bring my check, and she then proceeded to charge another party's tab to my credit card. Had I not been paying attention when she brought the credit card slip for me to sign, it's anyone's guess when I would have gotten her attention again in order to alert her to the error.
I'm also not a fan of the area where I was seated - the banquette adjacent to both the bar and the door leading outside to the beer garden. On quieter nights, I don't mind sitting there, but the place was so packed on this particular evening that I spent most of my meal at eye level with the rear ends of guests coming in and out through the door and waiting for their drinks at the bar. Several times, my table was bumped by other patrons trying to squeeze past and the glass of wine I was trying to enjoy nearly got spilled.
After dinner, I went downstairs to the Tough Luck Club for a cocktail and was relieved to find it was much less crowded. While there, I received fantastic service from the bartender - definitely on par with the level of service I'm used to seeing at Reilly. I'll be back because I like the food, but I'll think twice if it seems crowded!
The food has consistently been good and love their pizzas. Thought I would try something different and ordered pasta this time – both my partner and I received what looks like appetizer portions of pasta and Though very good, left feeling over charged for what we received and unsatisfied. If you order pasta, you may want to order something else in addition to it.
The speck and egg pizza keeps us coming back - it's such a delicious combination, and the crust is well-cooked (slightly charred, cooked through to center) but not as flavorful as Grimaldi's nor Falora's. I've had almost everything on the menu, and that pizza is the only return-worthy dish. The chef's board was very sloppy: the two cheeses were in crumbs and bits, the toast was unevenly cooked and spread with an odd, spicy, crusty tomato sauce, and everything on the board was too salty, with no acidity for relief. I've tried almost everything on the menu by now (because my husband loves that pizza so much that we go quite regularly) and I'm hoping that someday I'll find something worth eating.
We met friends here for pizza, salads and dessert and had a great time. We love Reilly's but don't get down as often as we like. It is easy to find and parking is great.
The pizza is outstanding and one of the best, and just the right size.
We each shared the bread pudding and it one of the best! Yum!
We made a reservation and when we got there we were told it was going to be a 20 minute wait, but we could start by getting a drink in the lounge area. This was fine until we preceded to watch every table except one get up and the staff could not figure out to clean just one table and move us, they just kept clearing each table and not actually cleaning or resetting a single table. Then when we did get moved our server disappeared for quite some time. It was between lunch and dinner and the staff was just very unattentive and disconnected. My mom gave her card to one server then another brought the check without knowing and upset my mom and had to go track down her credit card which she didn't feel comfortable about. The food was ok. But I wouldn't really go back during this time again.
As a New Jersey native, Reilly is one of my favorite pizza places in Tucson. Pizza is "Italian" style with thin crust, brick oven, artisanal toppings. They are very accommodating to food allergies and recommended delicious drinks. They have a beer and wine garden out back for special occasions- much quieter than their main dining room.
