This is an all round great Brazilian restaurant. The service is great and freindly. Meats are very good and there’s a big selection on the salad bar too. I have eaten here several time on business and it’s on my any my coworkers preferred list. Feels unique and warm without being cramped.
The idea of having a taste of a variety of different meats including chicken, pork, lamb, and various types of beef cuts is spectacular. The taste, flavors, and variety of meats is fanatic. We also had a non-meat eater with us that really enjoyed the salad bar which is extensive and delicious and about $15 less than the full dining experience. Great place to go with friendly staff and authentic service.
We came here on a Saturday night which was expected to be busy. The girl couldnt find our reservation even though I gave her our confirmation number for our anniversary date. I am giving them 5 stars for service because they were able to seat us right away and were attentive during the course of our dining. I love the variety of meats with the Picanha being my favorite. I wish I was able to try the bacon wrapped steak, but no one ever came around. Bring an empty stomach and a fat wallet! I recommend you try this place at least once if you haven't already done so. So worth it!
We frequent Rei do Gado at least 2-3 times a year. We live in North County so the commute is worth every minute in traffic and slow trek back after the great dining experience. Very accommodating for our group, which included a sleeping baby. Servers and sword bearers are always in good spirits and ready to answer any question. Even when it's about the language or other servers members of our party admirer (secretly). Best place for any occasion. Best place for good food. Best place period.
At best, this place was "ok." Took about 15 minutes to see a waiter before getting water. Once the food came it just wasn't anything special. When it came to turning in the check,you were had to wait over 15 minutes and then walked the check in ourselves. For a Brazilian steakhouse you'd be better off with Texas de Brazil or Fogo de Chai.
The food was great. Service was great for the first 2 hours, then the waiter abandoned us and left large piles of dirty plates on the table for 40 minutes. When I mentioned this he told me that he was doing his best, and didn't offer an apology. The restaurant, for their anniversary, gave us $5 off the main dinner cost plus a free glass of house wine or dessert per person, and gave us 2 desserts on request that weren't part of this program, which was very nice.
This is a special occasion place. It was great for an extended family get together. The meat, grilled on swords and brought out hot to the table for serving, was quite tasty - all dozen or so varieties. When we asked for something we hadn't seen yet, specifically beef hearts and lamb chops, they appeared within 10 minutes, freshly made for us. Bring your money...and enjoy!
We have been to a number of Brazillian Steakhouses, and really love the concept. The atmosphere here was very nice, especially if you get one of their outdoor tables with a firepit in the middle. The setting was great for a date night, and also would be great for groups.
However, we were not super impressed with the cuts of meat. They often were either very fatty, or overcooked. We prefer meat at around medium rare, which I understand is hard to do when trying to please a large crowd. However, we both thought many of the meat offerings were fairly tough. I am not sure if this was because they were overcooked, or if it is just the types of meat they were using. Even what they said was the Filet Mignon, which was the right color pink, was tough. Overall, I'm glad we tried this, but we will probably not be back to this particular Brazillian Steakhouse.
We enjoyed the selection/variety and quality of the food. My husband loved stealing half of my yummy blueberry mojito. He was very happy with the seafood choices right off the bat before we even got to the grilled meats: the crab legs & mussels, esp. I loved the salad bar choices, too; there was quite an interesting mix! Our fave meats: garlic steak, tri-tip & filet mignon. Interestingly, the desserts were from 85 Degrees (Korean) bakery, but since I love that place anyway, it was a win with my choice of the chocolate pearl to finish the meal. The servers/busboys were all friendly, efficient & checked on us frequently.
One of my girlfriends has never experienced eating here. So since it was SDRW, we decided to go! It was such a relaxing time, with delicious food ( also the variety), and the awesome service!!! Most of all, we’d like to thank Fernando aka Beni for our wonderful evening! We will definitely come back again!
We went there this time because of the restaurant week in San Diego. However, we were not realize the price for lunch had been increased to $30 from $20 last year. And they won't allow us to choose the regular lunch special for $24.95. Although the $30 includes the drink and premium meat, but they should let us know earlier from the website or at the front door. Although the food was good undoubtedly, this was just an unpleasant experience.
This place is fantastic! The food , service and salad bar is off the charts! Service is great! The salad bar is way more than a salad bar! It's a little pricey but for what you get it's definitely worth it! The meat selection is amazing and cooked perfectly! This place is similar to fogo but way more casual and fun! They had a beautiful Brazilian dancer dressed like she was in the parade at carnival!! This is a most go to restaurant!! So good and so much fun!!
Amazing quality of food. Extremely attentive staff. I absolutely love this so much, i have introduced ten others to this place. I live in Orange county and drive up to this place at least once a month. My boyfriend came up from Hawaii and said the one thing he wanted to do was grab dinner from Reo Do Gado.
We've been to the restaurant before but this time we went to try on the wagyu skirt steak that they are serving this month, July, only. I tried the wagyu at the sushi place before and it was sooooo tender. This wagyu skirt steak flavor was good but we both thought it was just as tender as a normal skirt steak with some part over cooked. I am wondering if it was wagyu skirt steak that they were serving. Overall it was good but I wasn't impressed.
