My friend and I met for dinner there on Sunday evening, and shared a very good bottle of Pinot Grigio. We also split the Tuscany salad, but I didn't care for it much. She ordered the hanger steak which was a little overcooked but she ate it anyway, and I had the bronzini which was delicious but the portion was too small. We decided to share the ricotta cheesecake which was supposed to come with blueberry compote but the waitress said they were "out of the compote" and gave us a small dish of plain blueberries instead, which we considered a poor substitute. I'm not sure I will come rushing back here anytime soon...
I love coming here every time. The vibe is perfect. Everyone is always so nice and they’re always paying attention to your needs. Whenever I bring a friend here, they always come back and bring their friends too. It’s such a gem, I almost feel bad about exposing my favorite secret with everyone.
Looked for a brunch place on the UWS and looking through available times, this restaurant popped up. We entered a very buzzy, neighborhood place. We were warmly welcomed by the hostess, however, she did not seat us until our entire table was there, in spite of a reservation. I always find that to be a bit annoying and nonsensical, but whatever. It was very busy and took time to get us a waiter for a food or coffee order. Not too bothersome but we did have to ask twice for a simple coffee. What was great were unlimited mimosas, bloody marys, etc. with brunch. My eggs over easy with sausage was overcooked, they weren't runny as they should be, but I knew since it was so crowded I'd never get it redone by the kitchen in time. One of our party ordered a salad and it was large and fresh looking. Another had steak and eggs, which looked very good. I wasn't completely disappointed and would go back in spite of some bumps. It's a great little neighborhood place and very friendly.
We had relatives in from out of town and were a party of five. There were wonderful choices for each and every one of us and everything was delicious. The service was attentive and made us feel special. It was simply a lovely night out dining and we had a great time!
It was fine
Fantastic place. Great quality food and service. Thoughtful wine selection at great value for price,
This is a neighborhood spot for us that we han't been to in quite some time and we were treated very well. Food is fresh delicious... great selection of pastas, fish (one of us ha a salmon dish surrounded by piles of super-fresh vegetables - yum), cheese and meat boards and wines. All of us enjoyed ourselves and we will return soon!
Best brunch spot in the UWS. Great food, wonderful service, and amazing environment for a terrific meal!
Monday nights in particular are a great deal with $10 pastas.
Very nice, looking forward to returning
Very great brunch experience. I will definitely return.
The food was very good...three course meal for $25.
Great bargain on Wednesdays!
Salad was great; pasta from menu excellent as were the lamb chops (always superior!). However, the special seafood pasta dish with lobster, etc. was a profound disappointment. $25 for maybe a square inch of lobster meat (if that) encased in a misleading shell, and a smattering of some other sea food things in a very uninspiring sauce. Sounded great when the waitperson told us about the specials, but OMG! what a rip-off. Didn't want to make a fuss, so didn't send it back.
Would recommend to a friend with a warning because usually things are wonderful.
There are very few good restaurants on the Upper West Side above 96 ST, this is one of them. It is our favorite spot when we don't want to take the subway somewhere. It is authentic Italian/Sicilian cuisine always well prepared and moderately priced. There are lots of pasta options for vegetarians. Our most recent visit was New Years Eve. It was bitter cold and Regional was the perfect place to ring in 2018. We walked to it. It was full and lively. There was live music (which was a nice surprise). It was all we wanted, and more, for a low key New Years Eve.
We love Regional, our go-to local Italian. Excellent homemade pasta, tasty salads, reasonable prices and friendly service. You’ll love it.
Boozy Brunch Special was fantastic. Will definitely come back.
had been here several times awhile ago for dinner before Symphony Space and came this time with friends for brunch which is very popular here. hence, it is a bit hectic although the very hands-on owner keeps everything moving along. there are lots of children and even infants so if you want something more leisurely and low-key, this may not be the place for such a meal.
My friends and I enjoyed our dinner there, but it was very hard to hear with all the noise -- no effort has been made to put sound-absorbing ceiling tiles or space tables a little further apart. It's obviously a neighborhood hot spot (we heard brunches there are very popular) but we won't be coming back for dinner.
As always, Regional doesn't disappoint. Fresh, creative Italian food from many regions, with a solid wine list. Service can be spotty, but always good natured. We return over and over again!
Great Monday night pasta special though they just raised the price to $10. Still a good deal.
Sadly they have raised their monday night special to $10 but is still a good deal. Food is always hit or miss but was a hit that day!
The drinks were tiny and expensive, the appetizer was great, the entrees were not, and the service was not very good (we had to bus our own table). I doubt we'll go back.
Hands down my favorite place to brunch in the city. Delicious food, great atmosphere, and outstanding service.
Service was slow. At one point our waiter was yawning and clearly had forgotten about us. My meal was nothing special. Honestly, I could have made it better.
The restaurant is casual but with a nice atmosphere and great friendly staff. Food is good as well I definitely recommend for dinner.
Love this place. Always busy, great neighborhood restaurant. Service is excellent, food is delicious and great value. Highly recommend.
Love the Monday night pasta special. Sometimes food is better then others.
Great for brunch. Includes bottomless after purchase of first drink - extremely great deal and good Italian food.
The branzino was very good. Very good attentive service.
The service here was exceptional. I had brunch here and the bottomless mimosas were amazing. The owner was so personable and ensured that we had everything we needed.
I have mixed feelings. Staff were very nice but did not come until called, even at the door when I first walked in. The oily bread with fresh tomatoes was absolutely delicious! The carpaccio was very good. The branzino wasn't very tasteful (I know, it was branzino!), and the lamb chops tasted reheated. All in all, dinner with my friend was an enjoyable experience, and I'd definitely go back.
The shrimp and calamari appetizer was tasteless, the pasta I had was tasteless my wife's was also very bland. Highly disappointing
,will not return
Have always enjoyed my meals there. Introduced a friend to the restaurant and she was very impressed. As usual, the food and service were outstanding.
I very much enjoyed my brunch at Regional. Not only was the food great but the service was impeccable. Plus the bottomless deal is such a good deal!
Excellent food, brilliant drinks--their own--and wonderful atmosphere. A true gem
It was amazing! A definite Repeat !
Warm, friendly welcome from host. Nice service from waitress and bus person. Good food and good value.
Regional is a wonderful neighborhood restaurant. It is both unpretentious and really delicious, with lots of options, very well priced, and great specials. Home made pasta dishes with lots of veggie and pescaterian options. Portions are generous but not overwhelming; service is lovely, and the wine list has interesting specials. We shared a tuna tartare app, a special salad, and a hanger steak main that was delicious. And because it was Wednesday, we shared a 1/2 price bottle of Primitivo, and our check came in at less than $100 for 2. Not bad for the UWS!
I avoid brunch here cause its too noisy and crowded. But its perfect for weekday dinners, especially if you can snag an outside table . The acoustics of the room could be better so if you have trouble with noise best to come early, late, or sit outside.
Great food and wine, with regional pasta dishes, but slow, poor service
Solidly reliable. Good salad. Great pasta. Good weekday night specials. Neighborhood standby when craving a relaxing meal. First time for my dining partner and she enjoyed her ink pasta with seafood. I ordered the lemon linguini with shrimp and zucchini. Pasta was perfectly cooked and shrimp were too.
