I booked a table online asking for a quiet table as my dog was scared of other dogs. We walked into the large very pleasant bar area and was given a suitable table. The food was delicious and hot. I had garlic bread for starters, then fish pie with a side salad and my partner had the mussels for starters then fish of the day. The food portions were of a good size and nicely presented. The staff were very helpful and polite. If we are in the area again we would definitely go back for another meal.

We eat here often for the Sunday carvery. We’ve been to many carveries and this is one of the best. The food is lovely, the staff are well trained, friendly and very helpful. It is always busy on Sundays but there are enough staff to keep things running smoothly. I highly recommend 8t.

4 of us had dinner (and stayed) on our first visit to Holm. Loads of positives - service was excellent, with our main waitress (??Amy) absolutely outstanding. The wine list was very good (note there is a more comprehensive cellar list to the bar drinks list), and the 2 bottles we had were both beautiful, esp the 2018 Ably Brothers Grenache and Syrah (15.5% though!). We all had the chef's tasting menu, with 2 having the vegetarian version of same. This was good value, at £69 per head, and some of the courses were exceptional - the chicken liver parfait brioche amuse bouche, the gazpacho, torched mackerel, and the duck. Those having the vegetarian option seemed to have quite a large amount of dairy - 2 courses with ricotta as well as a clotted cream parfait, which meant that at least one of them enjoyed the meal rather less than those of us on the original option.

Excellent lunch yesterday. Delicious fish and chips and crab sandwich. Helpful staff. Especially appreciated complementary drinks as we were celebrating our wedding anniversary.
