It was a super evening. Drew, our server, is attentive and friendly. He always remembers what we like. And the chef saved fresh grouper for us when he read that we were coming for dinner. And he created a special dish for us. Happy memories. We will return soon.
I had seen very mixed reviews so though my experience there in the last few years had improved, I was uneasy with what I had read as we went for a special occasion. The server provided friendly and excellent service during the Sunday brunch. I had no disappointments with the food except the breakfast potatoes were “warm” at best. The prime rib was perfect and hot. The chicken in artichoke cream sauce(is what I remember) was very good. There was a range of entrees and sides as well as breakfast options. The omelette station was good. We had an 11:30 am reservation so we had no waits there or other stations. The pianist provided background music that I enjoyed.
We have visiting Hotel Roanoke on and off for over forty years and never get tired of the atmosphere or the friendly staff. Dinner in the Regency Room was exceptional from the food to the service. Looking forward to our next visit sometime in the future!
The Regency Room was outstanding in every way. Food and service were excellent, the menu provided a variety of locally sourced options, and the ambiance hearkened back to a bygone era of elegance. Highly recommended for a special occasion!
Brunch for 8 was simply spectacular! Our servers were attentive but not intrusive. We had plenty of time to enjoy the food and spend time with our friends.
Especially good bread pudding and sauce!
We also enjoyed the Philly Steak Salad - - unexpected combination but tasty. Hope it stays as a salad option.
Great server, Crystal. Dreadful tasting food on buffet which, it was announced after 45 min into our meal, would close in 15 min. A facility of this stature serving lunch only till 2pm should not accept 1pm reservations.
Monday night dining with my parents, just arrived from South Carolina to look into the area. Very slow service, in spite of a sparse crowd. Sent my overpriced filet back because it was cooked medium well instead of medium rare. Unimaginative presentation. Dad should have, but did not send his filet back for being overcooked and dry. Very disappointing experience, especially since I’m trying to get the folks too move here!
Took my daughter for a special breakfast on her 10th birthday. The waiter and staff were wonderful and really made the occasion memorable.
Another great get-together with an old (we've known each other since 1971) friend. My rating on the food was only because the spoonbread was a little off Sunday. The service was more than outstanding...I use a rollator and the staff was very accommodating. We'll be back...
We had a wonderful experience!
The service was fabulous and the food was prepared perfectly.
My husband and I celebrate our anniversary at The Regency Room every year. The food is excellent and the atmosphere is perfect for the occasion. Our waiter was very efficient and kind. Hotel Roanoke is such a beautiful place to visit!
My mother used a gift certificate to take my husband and me to the Grand Sunday Brunch buffet in the Regency Room this past Sunday.
It was wonderful!! Great selection of both breakfast and lunch foods (including an omelette bar and a carving station).
There were also several great dessert options.
The service was excellent. Could not have been better.
Delicious Southern Cuisine!!! Love the spoon bread, soup and the salad! Outstanding service!!!
Our dinner at The Regency Room was a splendid experience. The service was helpful, polite, and thorough. They upheld a level of class that is becoming rare.
Our service was horrible. Even taking into consideration that we were there for the Sunday buffet, we had to wait over 20 minutes for our first drink order. Our waiter seemed more preoccupied with the back room and clearing tables. We then waited on our second drink before to get a second plate, which meant waiting about another 20 minutes on our second drink. This was a special occasion for us, being parents of a toddler who don't get out much on our own (we had hired a sitter). And waiter Bobby ruined the experience by ignoring us the entire time. In the end, we wound up paying up front, as he also managed to forget to collect the check.
You guys have the thing going. This is the best dining experience in Roanoke. Overall excellent. Also you might set out some dishes that have a bit of zing.
Craig, Skip, and Casey has & have always been my favorite service members. They work as a team to make sure your meal & atmosphere is perfection.
Great visit, crab cake excellent, grouper good but a bit dry. Great sophisticated atmosphere for special occasions.
Our server, Drew, was amazing he made our experience perfect and memorable. Would come back in a heartbeat!!
Every aspect of our Sunday brunch was first rate. Service was outstanding. Food was par excellence. We plan to make it a regular Sunday experience.
This is my favorite place for lunch in Roanoke. Everything is great and there's something everyone would like. Desserts, salads and peanut soup are my faves. Friday the buffet included a pork tenderloin with a molasses demi glaze that was wonderful!
Excellent breakfast buffet!! The smoked salmon was moist and delicious. The eggs were cooked to my special order. Service was friendly and helpful... a wonderful breakfast experience!
Wonderful wait staff..brody was a perfect gentleman and did a wonderful job at making our evening perfect. Great food, service and experience.
Live music and wonderful food! An excellent experience!!
Both Drew and Caitlin, our servers , were wonderful. Made the trip totally enjoyable. We'll go again and ask for them. very professional servers and entertaining. Can't say enough good things about them. The manager was so kind and attentive also. Great experience!
Overpriced for the offerings and unremarkable despite advertising. $17 for a martini is London prices. The lamb was good but it was served with no options other than mashed potatoes. The famous peanut soup had to have peanut pieces added at the table. I believe it was a thicker soup years ago with the peanuts cooked in the kitchen.
The Hotel Roanoke is always a delightful place in which to dine. The food is delicious, and the service is impeccable. The atmosphere is lovely.
A little pricy at $30 each for Sunday Brunch, but not unreasonable considering the outstanding food, choices, good mix of individual service and self serve. Must make a reservation - they fill up quick!
Excellent ambiance and excellent food for the price! Really enjoyed it!
Elegant setting and service
The dining experience here is beyond compare! From the moment we walked in we were greeted like old friends. The chefs and the line cooks are amazing with their parings of foods. From the single lighly fried oyster garnished with a sweet hot sauce to the fabulous bread, the outstanding Cesar salad to the beyond reproach of the main courses, we thought we had experienced a wonderful evening until our waiter (Drew) without presenting a dessert menu, questioned us about our tastes for sweets knowing what he had to offer. He asked to allow him to surprise us with his selection based on our tastes. He came back with two of the most amazing desserts we have ever had. We tip our hats to all the staff who made our dining experience one memoriable evening.
First time visit - Great restaurant, great service....will be back again. This is the kind of classy place that most restaurants of worth used to be like..... outstanding and inventive food.
Stayed at Roanoke hotel and had dinner at Regency. Room was beautiful and elegant. Service and food were great. From dc, food was even better than some of really good restaurant in dc.
We were spending a getaway weekend at the Hotel Roanoke. We decide to have a late dinner at the Regency Room on our last night. It was the perfect choice. Our waiter, Drew, provided outstanding service to us throughout our meal. The cocktails tasted superbly. My wife got the Shrimp and Grits, which were simply marvelous. I had the Statler Chicken and it was perfectly cooked, with a delicious gravy. Everything about this evening was wonderful and a great way to end a quiet weekend together.
We ate here for Sunday brunch. Breakfast and dessert items were excellent. We both enjoyed the cocktail shrimp and tangy cocktail sauce. The steak however was grissly and difficult to cut. Overall a great experience. The atmosphere with the live pianist was superb!
Very good food and service.
Excellent food, impeccable but unobtrustive service, elegant surroundings. One of our favorite getaways.
We really enjoy The Regency Room! Great Sunday Brunch Buffet, especially if you have friends visiting. But we also have enjoyed Lunch and Dinner there. The service for us has always been great also. I am of the opinion that to rate a restaurant highly, it needs a combination of good food, presentation, and service. I really enjoy the different offerings on the menu, not "run-of-the-mill". We all really liked the scones! 😉
The Regency Room is always an excellent choice. From being greeted so warmly and having our table ready was so appreciated. Our server was excellent . Food was outstanding although a little slow coming out from the kitchen. They have an excellent children’s menu also. This night they had live music . All in all a wonderful experience.
