Wonderful evening out with lavish food and delightful ambience~*
This was a fantastic experience!! The food was exquisite and the service was amazing!!! Mallory was extremely warm and welcoming. We both had the filet Mignon-both perfectly prepared!!we also had the grilled asparagus and it was delicious. We finished with the crime brûlée and couldn’t have asked for better! Highly recommend!!!!!
Always enjoy the lovely Sunday buffet.
Great place to have my wife's birthday. She enjoyed the night.
Fantastic service. 4 piece jazz band on Fri & Sat nights. Waitstaff and matre'd was so friendly and accommodating. Food was delicious. Would recommend s reservation.
The service was excellent and the food was well prepared. The presentation was excellent. Our server was attentive and helpful. Loved the jazz trio. I would definitely recommend. A bit pricey however.
Wonderful old hotel/restaurant with beautiful restaurant decor. the entrees seemed to be pre prepared so they were overdone and chewey. Disappointed since prior dinners were wonderful.
Service was great. Food was overpriced for the and nothing extraordinary.
It was our 50th Anniversary and everything was perfect. Would highly recommend!
We celebrated our 35th anniversary with brunch. Our server was slow and not attentive to our needs through out our visit. The stations were not attended and replenished during our meal. I had to ask for butter of all things. The food was run of the mill and comparable to any breakfast restaurant. Save your money!!
The ambience of the stately room was classic. We had a very attentive and gracious waiter Joshua. The Pinot Grigio had a wonderful bouquet. The food was delightful especially the crab soup and the crawfish jambalaya. We also enjoyed two very ample brunches.
Inventive twists to old standards, perfectly prepared and plated...delicious.
Two days later, My wife is still talking about the shrimp and grits with fried okra 2 days.
Surf and turf was perfect.
We visited on a Sunday evening and enjoyed the Chef's Table tasting menu. The service, food, and presentation were top-notch.
Great food with a full breakfast selection, salad options, and a wide array of lunch items. Must try the she crab soup and peanut soup.
The Regency Room at the Hotel Roanoke is always my first choice whenever I need to meet people for a quiet business meeting. Service and food are always first class. Their traditional menu is great as is the buffet option if you so choose. We also enjoy dining here as a family especially for breakfast or brunch on a weekend.
First time visit and was wonderful. Our waiter, food and table/seating was excellent!
Delightful place to take guests from out of town, not only for food and ambiance but historical significance to Roanoke.
It was our 33 anniversary and we brought along my nephew & his wife. The recognition of our special occasion was excellent and we were treated very special. Our server was excellent and we were pleasantly surprised to have him again after one year. He was perfect!! The food and drinks were excellent and each course was perfectly timed. We drove one hr and 15 minutes to the Hotel. It was a rewarding trip for all of us and we were very happy and pleased. Will return again as we have in the past.
Excellent all of the way around. Great lamb and crab cakes and wonderful desserts.
Great atmosphere. Service was top notch. And the food was fantastic!
Loved the atmosphere, music and food. Definitely the place to go for a very special occasion!
Another great meal. Our favorite waiter, Drew, has been promoted to food and beverage manager. We expect the overall level of service to at least stay consistent but will probably improve. The kitchen continues to produce outstanding meals.
Not our first visit for Sunday brunch. The food and service are always outstanding.
Most awkward service maybe ever...
Food was good but late...
Wife and I are not needy diners and don't have unrealistic expectations, but we expected more from Regency Room than what we got.
Still scratching my head over things said, done, not done to/for us by our waitress. I know she was trying and I assume it was her first night waiting table.
Our experience was memorable, but for all the wrong reasons...
The Regency Room is always an elegant experience. I have dined with a group of coworkers, friends and family. Special occasions and recently had lunch with my daughter, who visited from New Jersey. I knew she would be impressed by the atmosphere and southern charm. So glad we made it in time for lunch. Our waiters are always courteous and stay in touch with interrupting our experience. I would like to see a featured entree or a few new additions to the menu. Always a pleasure to dine there.
Elegance without pretension -- this restaurant is excellent in all ways. The food is prepared with care and delicacy, preserving traditions without feeling outdated. The staff is efficient and manages to be friendly while still preserving the formality appropriate to this classic hotel restaurant. And the maitre d'hotel is the best! He remembers guests who return, makes new-comers feel at home, and does all he can to make everyone in the room comfortable. I look forward to future visits to this outstanding restaurant.
The food was delicious the ambience with live music was great the staff very comforting and our own overall experience was very enjoyable for our 14th anniversary
We made a reservation for brunch to celebrate our wedding anniversary. This was notated in the reservation. We were the second table seated and it did take several, awkward minutes before our server greeted us. Although he was pleasant during our meal. Dirty plates were quickly whisked away.
Unfortunately, several of the hot food items were cold. The biscuits were not out on the buffet and we had to ask our server if they would be available. Once they were brought out, our server did immediately inform us. The desserts were exquisite.
Our anniversary was never acknowledged and it did not feel like a special occasion. This was really disappointing since we looked forward to this for several months.
The Hotel Roanoke Regency Room is a delightful venue for a wonderful meal. Sunday brunch provides an especially wonderful experience. The only challenge a patron must confront is making decisions about food choices. The brunch afforded us an opportunity to enjoy some family in a relaxed, elegant setting.
Food was amazing. The jazz band was entertaining and Brody the waiter was top notch. Do not hesitate to go here for a romantic night out. Well worth the price!
The Hotel Roanoke is a city treasure not to be missed.
Fabulous dining experience on our vacation. For this brunch, they had an excellent selection of breakfast, dining, and dessert options. Their fare included an omelet to order, smoked salmon, biscuits and gravy, peeled shrimp, mahi-mahi, carved NY strip, beans, and cheesecake. I didn’t have room for their she crab soup but my wife loved it. Only only wish I would have had room for their bread pudding.
We had a lovely evening with 3 generations of our family. The food was mostly very good, especially the vegetables. Almost every dish contained shellfish which my husband does not eat, but the chef was very accommodating in modifying the trout for him. My son-in-law had the turf without the surf. He is a true foodie and said it was delicious. We had two young children with us who enjoyed the evening. The food took a long time, but our waiter gave us a heads up when there was time for the children to wander around the hotel lobby between courses. We were seated right in front of the small band which was very fine, but made conversation difficult. The whole family enjoyed dancing on the small dance floor. We had an excellent local wine. The deserts were fabulous. I think we ordered every one on the menu.
Filet cooked perfectly Med-Rare and table-side bananas foster for the win.
I had stayed at the hotel Roanoke as a child and eaten at the Regency Room. I remembered the dance floor and Bananas Foster fixed table side. Fast forward many years and food is still fabulous! We had a lovey meal on trip and we will definitely return!
Great food and service. There were 7 of us. The maitre d was very pleasant when greeting us and remembered my name when we left. I ate every bit of my dinner. Enjoyed the live music.
Birthday great service and perfect meal
As soon as we sat down we felt welcomed and very special with our name at the table. Loved the music trio and the selections they played. It was enjoyable yet you could carry on a conversation very easily. Tried the shrimp and grits for the first time and it was delicious. I would definitely order it again. My husband had the filet and he very much enjoyed it except he passed on the foie gras. We had dessert which we don't usually do but were not disappointed. They are small enough to really enjoy it. Overall the Regency Room was an extremely enjoyable experience and I would strongly suggest giving it a try.
How wonderful to be able to experience a fine dining experience. Every aspect of the meal was superb. All staff are so courteous and professional.
