   I was so excited to eat brunch here because of the reviews. Unfortunately all the glasses at the table were dirty when my family and I were seated. The service was prompt however the server brought me juice and that glass was also dirty. I literally did not drink anything at the restaurant. I tried an Oyster from the seafood area and it was the worst oyster in my life. Overall the hotel and restaurant are very beautiful but the cleanliness and food have gone downhill. Hoping cleaning and food quality improves.

   Great venue for dinner and dancing. Service was excellent. My entree was a meager dish with 2 scallops and 2 shrimp! Couldn't believe it. Celebrated our anniversary that night -- but no comp drink or dessert.

   We were very late for our reservation due to spending 2 hours in a horrible traffic jam and they were so nice when we finally got there, seated us immediately and were very accommodating. Our waiter, Brody, was friendly, entertaining, and attentive. The food was delicious. We all enjoyed our 5 course Chef’s Graduation meal, as our son had just graduated from Virginia Tech. They also presented a special cake that I had made for my son’s graduation. Their kindness, the ambience and the chef’s creations really turned our night around!

    Excellent evening. Little disappointed the pre-fixe menu is required for all table guests to be available for selection. Nice setting, great service, and wonderful live music.

    Nice atmosphere. Good food. Drink service was slow. Cocktails came from the hotel bar which required the staff to leave the restaurant and cross the foyer to obtain them. As a result, alcoholic beverages arrived when the meal was halfway done. The coffee for desert arrived after the desserts were finished. If they could improve the timing of drinks with food this place would be top notch.

    This place has a quaint, old-world vibe that is in keeping with the 19th century hotel in which it is located. Staff were very friendly and accommodating, and the food was excellent.

    Our Sunday brunch at The Regency was perfect. We stayed at The Roanoke and were able to walk right in when it was time for our reservation. The service and food were excellent. We were happy to be there when the piano was being played. The gentleman who played was excellent. We had a great conversation with the young man who was at the omelet station.     We went for our anniversary dinner and the host and staff made it a memorable experience. The food was very good and there was a wonderful three piece band playing soft contemporary music to listen to and dance if you do choose. Charming and delightful!

    We always have dinner at the Regency Room when we are on Roanoke. The Speong menu is excellent with many seafood options. I had the crab cakes; my husband had the Stadler chicken- very tasty! Service was excellent as well. Looking forward to having dinner here again.

    I am pleased that the Regency Room continues to operate at the standards of a fine and eloquent restaurant. The cuisine speaks for itself and needs no further praise from me. The Trio made for a wonderful evening of dancing and the service was outstanding.

    Dining in The Regency Room at Hotel Roanoke was an Outstanding Experience and will be highly recommended. My group of 3 were cordially welcomed with courtesy for a Birthday Celebration. The servers were knowledgeable and friendly, the food was fresh, flavorful, and enticing. The Musical Trio was amazing playing a variety of timeless selections demonstrating each of their craftsmanship. The ambiance was impeccable. Last but certainly not least, on our exit, once again we were met with kindness and interest of our satisfaction. The entire dining experience has been unforgettable. Thank You!

    We visit monthly or so to dance on a Friday or Saturday evening. A fine trio plays. Nice roomy dance floor. They always seem happy to have us. An elegant night.

    Nice, formal dining. Food was average at best. Shrimp and grits was more oatmeal and baby shrimp. My wife did enjoy her lamp chops. It wasn’t awful but we wouldn’t eat here again.

    The Regency Room is a beautiful dining experience. On a Friday evening there was live music that created a wonderful background to dinner. The hotel seemed quite busy and that led to my 4 star service review. Our server was wonderful but after ordering drinks it took forever to receive a glass of wine and a cocktail from the bar. Thinking their Lobby bar might have been overwhelmed and maybe not enough staff. That is my only negative comment. Overall a wonderful place to enjoy dinner.

    The seafood bisque alone is worth a visit. The piano player was also a really nice touch and made brunch feel special. The lemon shortbread with blueberry mousse was delicious!

    Food was good, not great. We had the brunch buffet and most items were about what you would expect. Breakfast items were very good especially the fresh fruit, scones, parfaits, and overnight oats. Lunch side was average for a buffet, nothing really stood out as excellent. Service was good and appropriately attentive, plates cleared quickly and juice and coffee filled when needed. Beautiful room and setting, would come again but would probably save the extra money and just opt for breakfast buffet only.
