We also serve the choicest steaks and chicken, have the largest raw bar in New York's Capital Region and a wide selection of beer, wine and cocktails.
I had the pasta dish recommended by waiter. I wish I had chosen the divers scallops as I think it would have been more flavorful.
Ordered a broiled lobster and got boiled. Since there were four of us, I didn’t send it back. The wives went to the ladies room and reported back that there was no toilet paper in the stalls. We have had better experiences at Reel Seafood.
The wait staff were great.
The restaurant was very nice. The decor and atmosphere was excellent. We enjoyed the service, however the lobster was over cooked.
First and foremost, the food should be the primary focus of a restaurant and all else the supporting cast.
Excellent food and service and great atmosphere.
Service was slow. Food was a disappointment. Wouldn’t go back.
Great seafood selection salad with your meal is hearty and fresh. I had the cioppino it was full of fish would have like a little bit of crusty toasted bread to dip in the broth.
Bar area can be a little loud between 5:00-6:00pm then it quiets down a bit.
Lola, Thank you so much for your review. Our Cioppino is a Reel favorite among our patrons. We look forward to your next visit!
Waitress very unkempt. Dirty uniform. Food cold. Some inedible. No value for $$. Checks were wrong and needed to be corrected.
I made a reservation and was never told the price per person. I was disappointed with the available selections and for a party of three we were charged a large party gratuity if 20 percent.
The food & service were excellent.
I always get the same meal--the shellfish Cobb salad. Delicious!!
Tracy, the shellfish cobb is one of our favorites! We look forward to seeing you again soon!
Another excellent meal at Reel Seafood. I wish there was more variety of fish entrees, as there was in the past. As usual, the rolls were outstanding and the fish was fresh and well-cooked.
ALWAYS A DELITE TO DINE HERE ++++++++++++++++++++++++
The Good: The diver scallops, broiled shrimp, and New England clam chowder were excellent. The service was very good.
The Bad: The stuffed haddock my wife ordered was overcooked, dry, and hard with a noticeable fish taste suggesting it was far from fresh. Seasonal vegetables were undercooked. Jasmine rice I ordered was simply dry cooked rice with no "jasmine" or anything else added for taste or moisture.
It should be noted that we were not charged for my wife's meal as a result of the unsatisfactory haddock.
I love this restaurant! The coquilles saint Jacques were OUTSTANDING!
Candance, thank you for your review. We look forward to seeing you again soon at RSC!
Unfortunately we don’t have a good review for Easter Brunch. The food was fine, when we got it, well, except that they forgot some of the ingredients in my niece's omelet
But the service was uneven. It’s not the waitress’s fault that there was a long wait for our salads and then double that for our entrees, or that 6 of 7 came out together and there was at least a 5 minute wait for the 7th. Or that the poached eggs were overdone and cold.
But a little more empathy than “sorry for the wait, your food will be here soon’ not once but three times would have gone a long way.
It’s not our style to make a scene — especially on a holiday. We do appreciate that they were cooking and we were not. But it really was not acceptable. It actually wasn’t very busy. I guess we know why.
Easter Brunch was a disaster. First our appetizer came out cold, flavorless without hardly any actual calamari, just breading. Next, Lobster benedict was ordered by both my daughter and husband...COLD again. My dish Stuffed Haddock was completely flavorless. The noise level in there was ridiculous. I felt like I was at a Friendly's ...Sorry , but never again, especially on a holiday.
Even though it was a holiday, food and service was excellent as usual! The menu had a variety of offerings.
Thank you Geri for your review! We hope to see you again soon.
We went for Easter dinner. Did not know there was exclusively a holiday menu and could not order from full menu. Food was very good. Our server however was not so great. She did not listen so well. Twice mistakes were made with our beverages. We specified no thank you to second glass of wine, however were served second glass. Then we ordered two coffees and only got one. When restaurants elect to only serve a limited menu selection on holiday, appetizers, entrees and desert should be included in one price. But they werent. For two people our bill was quite high due to all the separate costs.
We decided to go to Reel Seafood for my birthday. Our table was nice and our server was very helpful. We were very disappointed because every time we wanted a particular type of food we were told that they did not have it. For instance, my husband wanted mashed potatoes. They did not have it. Then he asked for a baked potato. They did not have that either so they brought french fries without asking if that was O.K. We ordered from the dinner menu and the portions were small. For dessert it took 4 tries to get it right. The wrong dessert was brought for my husband. I ordered the cheesecake which was not cheesecake. It was cake with cheesecake icing. The server brought me a different dessert. Oh yes, and there was no whipped cream. It was in the kitchen still frozen. The server was very accommodating so we left him a very good gratuity and left still hungry.
Great food, great service. A little pricey, but you get what you pay for!
Service was slow, eventhough there were only 3 other guest tables. French fries arrived lukewarm. The bread used in the bruschetta was not toasted and soggy. The menu was very disappointing to a fish variety expectation.
The rolls had been microwaved a bit too much. One of the cocktails was requested up, and it came on the rocks. Waiter willingly corrected it, but then one of the members of our group was still waiting for her drink. We were given time to talk and decide on our selections. Food came relatively quickly. It was attractive, hot and tasted great.
It’s comfortable welcoming and the food is presented beautifully. Tasty too! We had a great time
great food, great service. we jad eight adilts and two lirtle ones. grrat tp celebrate a birthday.
Enjoyed brunch very much and the entertainment was terrific...young lady had a beautiful voice.
Debbi, our server was terrific. We also appreciate Crystal taking time out of her duties to stop by and say hello.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinners. Our servers were pleasant and caring.
This was our 2nd time there. Same table both times.
While we were eating our appetizers our food arrived, then another wait staff tried to take our appetizers be for we were done. Couldn’t even get a second glass of wine. So our dinner was warm!
Great dinner. Nice ambiance.
$30 for one overcooked king crab leg with no claw? However...clams casino dish was excellent!! Fantastic service (Debbie)!!
Food is excellent. Great variety. Fresh ingredients and well presented.
This was our first visit to this establishment, although we have lived in the greater Capital District for 29 years.
The restaurant is well managed, clean, and has friendly, knowledgeable staff. The atmosphere is vey nice and good for conversation, and the food was fresh, delicious, and presented well. My wife and both had a cup of the clam chowder which was very good, containing a decent number if clams, and a sprinkle of bacon.
We also each had a Caesar salad - hers with chicken, mine with shrimp. We each really enjoyed what we ordered.
The server was friendly and accommodating, and checked back with us regularly, and kept the beverages refreshed throughout our meal and our visit with friends. We lingered in conversation and felt no pressure to leave.
We look forward to returning to Reel Seafood for a dinner in the near future. They earned a repeat visit based on the food and service from our first visit!
Went with my colleagues on Wednesday evening. We all enjoyed our meal with the exception of one. She had the swordfish and thought it tasty odd. We loved the bread that came with the meal. We thought we remembered that on previous trips to this restaurant we were given salad with our entrees.
This restaurant seems to have gone down hill. The prices are very high for what you get and the flavors are good but not complicated. The service was disappointing. I will not be going back anytime soon. This saddens me because it is locally owned.
Food was good. There was in issue with the desired doneness of my steak and it was rectified immediately. The fried calamari was excellent.
Totally awesome brunch. Service was great and live music a plus!
The place was nice - long aquarium stretching the width of the room, blue subtle lighting on the ceiling. Not stuff or luxurious but nice and comfortable. The food was excellent tasting and the portions were good. Our waitress asked all the right questions as we expressed the need for one of us to be gluten free. We also stressed that we were on a time crunch towards the end and they helped to expedite the process after our dessert. I would go back there any time I was in the area. It was clean, comfortable, and overall enjoyable.
Service was a bit slow and food mediocre. Katie the server was very nice
We found both the service and meal were unimpressive.
It had been a while since my last visit...I won’t take that long again. Food was excellent, and the staff was friendly and very professional.
