I go often and the food is great. Have had parties, girls’ night out, birthday celebrations and last minute dinner. Amanda is one of the most excellent waitresses! Great service!
not impressed, $36 for 3 bites of sea bass? We had a reservation and were stuffed in a corner next to a work station. Another meal was stuffed haddock, it was so dry, we asked the waitress for some melted butter or some kind of sauce to pour over it. she brought back ketchup, and lemon juice! REALLY?? WONT go back
All was lovely - while our waiter was great the woman who initially seated us misheard our name and reservation and then seemed put out with us when we corrected her.
That was unpleasant and the only miss in an otherwise very enjoyable evening.
I have been coming here for years and this time I felt like the waitress was rushing us. We were four people and three out of the four had no problem with their main course. My wife's food was cold and not the best. My biggest issue besides the poor service was we were told to keep our knives because we might need them even though they were dirty from using them with our appetizers. I can't believe with the prices we are paying for our food that it is not normal practice to replace new silverware with each course. Trust me after all these years I will be going back to this restaurant.
The restaurant was quite busy even for a late evening. The servers were attentive and took good care of Me. My Lobster Risotto was quite good. As was the New England clam chowder.
Two of us in our party had Tuscan Salmon and thought “something was missing”. It tasted good but was served on a skimpy bed of chopped spinach without any carbohydrate or vegetable. Joe our server took great care of us. The oysters were delicious. We’ll return but choose different entrees.
The decor and ambiance are very good. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food portions are small for the price but the quality was good. Our waitress got busy with a large table when we were ready to pay our bill. I ended up going to the hostess desk to have them process payment for me. Overall we had a very nice evening.
We are frequent Reel Seafood diners. The two pieces of sole were thickly battered and overly fried. Not lightly battered as the description indicated. The polenta was thick and gummy and no vegetables included. It was a very disappointing dish. You need to re-evaluate that dish. The cherry stones were excellent. The service was great.
Have to say we were a little disappointed in the food. We ordered a Cobb Salad that was very dry and a crab cake hollandaise poached egg dish, which was a chef special, that was so light on hollandaise sauce as to be invisible to the naked eye. Both dishes required us asking for additional dressing and sauce. The service was pleasant enough but a little slow. Although we made a reservation, and were asked if we made a reservation when we arrived, we felt that one wasn't necessary as the place was nearly empty which we thought was odd for a sunday brunch at noontime.
Food was great, live music was nice, great place for girls brunch, nice mimosa bar. Only complaint, server was slow & food came out with unnecessary extra plates & not a lot of table room for them.
The restaurant made a mistake on my food order and delivered the wrong meal. They took it back but I was forced to watch my wife eat and she in turn had finished by the time my meal came. I think they should have offered me a complimentary drink while as was waiting but all I got was an apology. The food was great once it came.
THE FOOD WAS VERY GENEROUS AND DELICIOUS. WE HAD BRUNCH AND THE BREAKFAST SELECTIONS DID NOT DISAPPOINT. OUR WAITER WAS VERY ATTENTIVE. THERE WAS LIVE MUSIC AND THE SOUND LEVEL WAS GREAT AS WE COULD HAVE A CONVERSATION AT OUR TABLE AND STILL ENJOYEDTHE BACKGROUND MUSIC THROUGHOUT. THE SETTING WAS COMFORTABLE AND APPEALING. WE WILL GO BACK SOON.
Great food and service. The decor is inviting and modern. The rolls are incredible!
Good seafood menu with plenty of variety and some imaginative selections. A bit too loud for my taste, but service (Amanda) was excellent.
Our first visit and we enjoyed ourselves with good food. Noise level was loud but the place was hoping. Waiter was over extended and it took a long time to get our drinks but after the friendly manager noticed we were still waiting he jumped in and was very helpful getting things caught up. Again it was really busy so I'm sure both issues where due to that fact. Overall it's good food, nice atmosphere, friendly staff.
The food was delicious and liked the apple dessert. How about a nice light chocolate cake for dessert??? Waitress was outstanding! (Carolyn)
Entertainment was great with Patrick Gioia and the food turned out to be good, but the service was awful. We waited approx 90+ minutes for our food. It was way too long and the waiter had no explanation or excuse for it until we complained. Even the drinks took forever to get. To compensate, he told us he didn't add in the 18% tip required of a table of nine, however, that's no offer of compensation...we always tip at least 20% anyway. On a good note, the entertainment was fabulous and nice touch for Sunday brunch.
We really enjoy eating here, the food is always delicious, and the staff is very pleasant. We especially like the decor.
Reel Seafood doesn't look inviting from the outside, but the inside feels like another world! The ambiance inside is perfect for a seafood meal. The salmon was prepared perfectly and the fish and chips were delicious.
Excellent server-(Kristine) who couldn't be nicer or more helpful and efficient. Made the meal very enjoyable, especially since one of the guests had a food allergy.
1st time... Being from Montreal we were pleasantly surprised. Great decor, great service & excellent food. Will definitely return.
The food was okay, but I felt the prices of everything from beverages to appetizers to meals were much more expensive than they should be for what you got.
This restaurant was almost perfect - but not quite. Some parts of our meal appeared separately - one long after we had finished all the rest - and one request (for sauce on the side) wasn't met. The room is lovely, the quality of the food is high, and the wine list is interesting and not too pricey. So these were small slippages, but not something you expect from top restaurants. I am willing to believe these were unusual and would give it another try.
We hadn't been here in decades! It is absolutely current and wonderful. We started with cocktails (the cucumber vodka basil grapefruit specialty was refreshing, unique and amazingly balanced) and shrimp cocktail, steamers and fried oysters. The clams and oysters were perfect, shrimp was a bit soggy. Next we tried the beet and goat cheese salad. The portion was perfect for sharing and the fried goat cheese was crispy outside and melty inside! Our entrees were the scallops with pomegranate, seafood jambalaya and steamed king crab legs. Each of us ate everything. The amount of shrimp and scallops in the jambalaya was generous! Even though we were full, we shared the raspberry panna cotta and it was the perfect amount of light sweetness that we needed to end a fabulous meal. Great wine list, perfect service timing and quiet enough for lots of conversation. We will be back soon!
Nice atmosphere, but the quality of the food was not great and the preparation was poor. Oysters Rockefeller consisted of tiny tasteless oysters underneath a great heap of spinach with some kind of cheese sauce. A lobster was overcooked and had the consistency of canned tuna. On the other hand, the bread was hot and excellent. Although the clam chowder was good, the waiter brought a cup when we had ordered a bowl. I hate to be mean, but I wish I had paid heed to an earlier reviewer that recommended going to the Red Lobster (across the street) instead.
Reel Seafood is an excellent restaurant in all respects---delicious food, terrific staff, and a pleasant ambiance. We look forward to our return.
Medium rare instead of medium well. Cold crab legs. Side dish never served. Small servings. Way overpriced.Good waitress and manager. But overall bad experience.
Food was ok this time. Been there once before and the food was great and the waitress made the experience lots of fun. This time we had decent food and decent service. But not great. Had to ask a couple of times for salt, pepper, lemons. Asked for a couple of extra rolls, but they were not given. There was not a lot of meat in the lobster which is not something they can control, but for the most part the food was good. I agree with others that the lobster mac and cheese is so rich it is amost too much. It is expensive for a family and we were celebrating a special occasion. It would be nice to feel like we were there celebrating a special occasion.
Great service, we hit Wednesday prime rib night, outstanding rib!
Staff friendly, food delicious. Pricy, little portions on the seafood tower which was $60
Best food I have ever had there. Service was perfect.
I have been here several times in the past. The food seems not of the same quality as on previous visits.
The food was wonderful. Service was also wonderful. I had the Chilean sea bass with potatoes and corn - chef's choice and it was delicious. Can't wait to go back there and yet other dinner options
Excellent Calamari, had grilled swordfish and partner had poached salmon both were excellent and presented well. The bread is addicting and the caramel pistachio butter was delicious. I would recommend this place and can't wait to return.
We have been to Reel Seafood several times and every meal and dining experience has been exceptional.
This was the first time at Reel Seafood and it was great. Normally we had to go to MA or ME for good seafood. The service was excellent and the food came out in a timely manner. Will definitely go there again and with friends.
We stay at a neighboring hotel annually when a friend and I make a trip to the Saratoga Racetrack. Have come to look forward to dining here as part of our 3 day mini-vacation. Food and service good.
Good, not exceptional food. Service times were appropriate and the server was very pleasant. The restaurant has live music. Although the group was very good they were a little loud for the space. Overall a typical restaurant experience.
The service was spot on, the food was delicious. I expect this from a restaurant; afterall, their business is the restaurant and it has to be good.
As always, we had a wonderful meal. I had the pan-seard Chilean sea bass, flaky and moist to perfection my wife had the lobster risotto, and loved every bite. Can't wait to come back again!
