we are always very pleased with our visit to the Reel Club
The seafood here was excellent and the popovers were divine! Unobtrusive staff but attentive.
Great service (Kim), fresh delicious food, and popovers!
We had a table for 8 and they were great with service and getting us everything we needed. The food was amazing as we did the brunch and the atmosphere was very nice. They got us a big table on the 2nd level so we had a feeling of privacy. It was perfect.
Wasn't impressed with the food at all
Lobster tails were overcooked and green beans were firm and tasteless. I hate I had to spend so much for it afterwards :(
We visited The Reel Club for our anniversary. We arrived about 15 minutes early for our 6:45 PM reservation and were seated immediately. We were seated in a very nice booth in the main dining room where we could sit next to each other and look out over the restaurant. We were each given a menu, and I was presented with the wine list while my wife was handed the specials. Our server greeted us and acknowledged we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. He told us about the dinner specials, and suggested we might want to start with a glass of Champagne. Instead, I ordered a (medium priced) bottle of merlot. Our server asked if we wanted to order appetizers at this time, or just enjoy the wine for now. We chose to enjoy the wine, and he came back about ten minutes later and we placed our order for appetizer. My wife had the crab cake, while I tried oysters on the half shell. Since this was my first time having them, I asked our server if it would be better to have three of one type or one of each (there were three types on the menu); he suggested one of each. They were delicious. The crab cake appetizer was just mediocre, and in no way came close to those we have had at Parker’s Restaurant and Bar or at Papadeaux’s. For our main course, my wife had the Walleye Pike, while I had the Stone Crab Claws, both on the “specials”; I also had a side of brussel sprouts. Both the walleye pike and stone crab claws were excellent; however the brussel sprouts seemed to be quite under cooked. After dinner our server presented us with the dessert menu, and we shared the New York cheesecake. Unfortunately he did not tell us they were also bringing a complimentary “anniversary dessert”. We ate the anniversary dessert (a small chocolate cake with whipped cream), and nibbled on the cheesecake.
The atmosphere was very nice and we were not rushed at all. The service was excellent. Only reason for four stars instead of five was because of the crab cake.
Service was slow. Took long for drink order. Brought entrees before appetizer
This was our second visit to this restaurant and it is now confirmed we will not be back. Overpriced menu for the quality of food served, a salad that was not fresh, a loud dining area. Why go back when there are so many other choices.
Great service, very attentive. cold seafood platter was a great starter. Sushi was very good. Take a pass on the stone crab. Entrees were very good and proper portions.
A very nice place for seafood. Lots of choices and the quality of the fish is excellent. The cheese puff bread was great. Had a great cup of gumbo. The scallops for dinner were done perfectly. Most at our table had the sea bass which was also done well. Service was excellent. Had the lemon meringue pie for dessert.
Great for seafood in the Oak Brook area. More economical than Gibson's
Consistently good. Lettuce Entertain You does seafood right.
This time we shared several appetizers...sushi roll (fresh and awesome), Stone Crab Claw (delicious and the sauce...yum!), jumbo shrimp cocktail - just right, and a chopped salad. The pacing, the service, the experience...top notch.
I have been to Reel Club in the past and found it to be a very good option for getting seafood dinner in the West Suburbs. During my recent visit, it's nice to notice that the great service and outstanding food are still a part of their charm.
The appetizers ranging from soups to salads to small plates are always a hit. The selection of fresh fish is also a winner. Add to that servers who never seem rushed or inconvenienced, Reel Club will continue to be the "go to" restaurant for me when I am indeed in the mood for seafood.
We frequent Reel Club. They have a nice variety of dishes. Their food is delicious and waitstaff is excellent.
Ordered the walleye, it was undercooked. Not good. The piece of fish was not good.
food was good only complained is we had an oddly shaped corner table which meant one of our party of 4 was a little further away.
Had to wait about 20 minutes to be seated - we had reservations.
We dined at Reel Club last night with my parents. It was their first time here for dinner. The restaurant is a large venue with a good size bar area. The noise level, though, is extremely loud. That is the one drawback about this place. Love the food, hate the noise. Javier was our server and he was fantastic! He was friendly, accommodating, attentive and his service was great. The famous popovers never stopped coming to the table...it was like he knew that was our favorite part. Those popovers are so light and fluffy and good. I had the spicy tuna maki for a starter which I shared with my husband. Very fresh fish and 8 pieces on the plate served with a spicy sauce on the side, ginger and wasabi. I suggested the Greek salad to my parents and my dad said that was the best salad he's had in a very long time. I had the seafood salad for my entree and it was jammed packed with goodness...large pieces of lobster and crib, shrimp, egg, kalamata olives, scallions and avocado over fresh greens with a green goddess dressing. So fresh, full of different layers of flavor and delicious. My husband enjoyed his fish tacos and my mom and dad loved their scallops and mahi prepared Greek style. It was a very good dining experience. If they could only work on that sound level!
Food and service was excellent as always. I decided to try something different...I highly recommend the Chilean sea bass. Excellent fish!! Was not disappointed.
A very average restaurant with above average prices.
All good but was not overly impressed with their sushi
As always really good seafood and sushi , cocktails are pretty good too. Our favorite place for a special night out
Food and service was excellent. I will definitely revisit and recommend
Food was excellent. Very fresh and generous proportions.
We have eaten at Reel Club in the past but it's been a few years. When we walked in at 7PM there were only a few tables occupied. This should have been our first clue that the food would not be as we expected.
We each ordered salad and main course. The chopped salad was excellent but it was large enough for two people or an entrée for one. The iceberg wedge was also very good. The meal was off to a good start.
The runner brought out our main course before we had finished the salad course. This was a bad sign; a lack of coordination between the two courses.
The entrees were pricey, especially when the quality of the food is taken into account. The haddock I ordered was greasy and chewy. The fish and chips were quite good but cost $23. We don't mind paying premium prices for premium food.
A disappointing experience. For a Lettuce Entertain You restaurant this place is sub-par.
We enjoyed the easter buffet so much. The food was fresh, there were plenty of great choices and the service was wonderful. I highly recommend The Reel Club.
Food was good but add more gluten free hot dishes and desserts and return to previous unlimited mimosa's.
I was there for the Sunday (Easter) brunch. It's the best in the United States.
Our server brought whatever was requested and was polite. The hot food on the buffet was dried out and unappetizing, the prime rib was of lesser quality than on a non holiday Sunday brunch. Evidently, the high buffet price now only includes one glass of champagne or one mimosa. We have eaten many Sunday buffet at this location, Easter 2018 was very disappointing.
Excellent seafood. Wide variety for brunch. Good choice for relaxing lunch. Service is outstanding
The Reel Club brunch is the best brunch we have ever experienced. If you love oysters, crab and shrimp this is the place to go. We did not have one thing on Easter that disappointed us.
We had a late dinner. The restaurant was nice and quiet, the service was excellent and the food delicious.
First time at this restaurant greeted by friendly and kind host. We had a friend in our party that was lost and she patiently stayed on phone with her until she found her way to restaurant thank you for your service. I didn’t get her name. Food and service was excellent will definitely come again.
We had lunch at the bar. Fantastic service!
The food was fantastic, we had Chilean sea bass which was great, also swordfish which was very tasty. The only negative was when we sat at the bar first the bartenders liked to talk to them selves and not take care of their patrons. Also had to wait for the heck at the bar awhile.
Room was almost empty so noise was not a factor.
Found it odd that they say 2 woman right next to ya when there were 10 other tables.
The food and service we good. I didn't like it that the waiter asked for a bigger tip than the 20% we left him. I thought tips were discretionary.
The place was pretty empty tonight. Not as busy as most restaurants.
Fresh seafood and wonderful comfortable setting
Had a great birthday brunch. Excellent.
I love this restaurant. I finally took my family and they loved it too!
Been to this restaurant many times, this time the food was really off. Staff gave us a free dessert but $28 for whitefish and the quality, not good👎🏼
Not going back for a long time!!
