Reel Club Ratings and Reviews
We chose this restaurant for a birthday gathering. Made reservations on open table, we were seated right away. Ordered the gumbo which was good, would’ve been better if it was hot not just warm. I ordered the crab cakes and my husband ordered the filet minon. The food came out literally 5 minutes after we ordered. My crab cakes and string beans were ok nothing to brag about and my husband steak was dry with no flavor, he asked for steak sauce which you wouldn’t need if the steak was tasty. Overall everything was average but not good enough to recommend or return.
Great restaurant. I was celebrating my 60th birthday with friends and family and this was my first time at the Reel Club. We all had the brunch, the food was delicious, the service exceptional and the prices were reasonable. I will be returning in the near future.
Very disappointing. After several fair dining experiences we tried Reel Club one more time. We’ll not go back. With a reservation we were seated 20 minutes late. The staff in charge of seating patrons seemed indifferent to the issue. Actual server was good but Long delays in taking our order and delivering our courses. Food itself was fine. We have found Reel Club to be generally poorly managed.
After posting a less than stellar review about a recent experience here, I was impressed that management reached out and asked that I give them another try. I am happy to report that I had a much different experience the second time around. Food was good, service was good and noise level was appropriate for a Saturday. Will definitely be back.
The food was amazing. Our server was awesome. My issue was when we first got there, there seemed to be some confusion about what tables were open and it took quite a while for that to get figured out before they could seat us even though we had a reservation. That didn’t bother me as much as the woman who was seating guests, loudly and openly complaining to the hostess about how the people that work there need to get their act together and learn how to do their job. Right in front of us!! Very unprofessional. We also had a couple of dirty plates on our table as well. I’ll still definitely go back but whoever that woman was seating people needs to learn to keep her grievances to herself when customers are within earshot.
We've been here with our family of six four times now. The unlimited fresh oysters are delightful and taste of the sea and the buffet has excellent choices, from custom omelettes to prime rib to waffles. We especially love the ceviche, the smoked fish, and the sushi. Delicious and a tremendous value. Highly recommended.
We went early on New Year's Eve and it worked out well. Our entrees were delicious, perfectly cooked. There were some hot peppers on the Greek Salad that we don't usually get at other restaurants. There could have been more olives instead of the hot peppers.
We arrived and few minutes late for a 4:30pm reservation on NYE but were still seated immediately upon arrival which was nice. Server was very nice and knowledgeable about the menu. She checked in frequently but also gave us our space and was not too invasive. I had the Chilean sea bass which was amazing. Each bite had a burst of flavor initially which then became more subtle as the fish “melted” in your mouth, similar to a fine piece of filet. My girlfriend had the sea scallops which she had always loved in the past, and this occasion was no exception. We will be back for sure. My only gripe with this particular visit is that our table seating was booth on one side and chair on the other, which I personally don’t like for a one-on-one date, but it’s not that big of a deal.
New Years Eve Sunday Champagne brunch was PERFECT! Excellent service, out of this world buffet with salmon, sushi, oysters, shrimp, king crab. All the salads and also fruit & breakfast items, eggs, sausage, waffles etc...I can’t say enough how delicious the crem bru le & tiramisu was not to mention chocolate covered strawberries, mimosas & a great cup of coffee!!! LOVED IT
The rooms were stark, small, and other diners too close in these rooms.
I would rather be in a big room with maybe different levels. The food was good but the menu
selections were short of the reputation. No mussels and too many sandwiches offered.
The ambience just wasn't there for us, maybe we should have eaten in the bar area.
Christmas Eve dinner service and food quality were very disappointing. There was a long wait for our table despite having a reservation. The hostess was clearly overwhelmed. Our appetizers did not come out together. Our entrees were mediocre at best and incorrect. Hard to know if this was just one bad night or typical, but I won’t be back any time soon.
I was disappointed as we wanted the brunch for Christmas Eve..There were no reservations available till 430p. We were under the impression that the brunch was all day until our waitress informed us differently. The dinner was just ok the blackened Mahi was very salty
Met friends for dinner prior to taking in a play. It was a Thursday night and the place was very busy (Thursday before Christmas). We were seated promptly, drinks/wine came quickly as did the hot dinner rolls (yum). A second basket of rolls came to the table without asking...so good. The salads were very good. Crab cakes were good but not great. The Chilean sea bass was excellent. Requested side of Brussel sprouts did not arrive with the rest of the meal and was offered latter at not cost but we were too far into our meal.
Would definitely go back again.
