Redwater Rustic Grille - Northwest - Permanently Closed Ratings and Reviews
This was a short reunion of a long time friendship. We did have to move from the table into the higher back seats because of the noise at the bar but once relocated, we to enjoy the evening very much. The food we ordered was really good & very delicious! I would indeed go back again should the occasion be a fun night out with the girls. Thanks again for your hospitality, everyone was so nice.
The salmon was not fresh - dirty water taste despite a heavy sauce. Tamarind sauce very salty.
The pasta dishes were average.
My son's steak was gristly and he almost choked on it.
Left most of the food on the plate.
The server was pleasant.
This was in contrast to a much better experience food-wise previously. Must have been a change in cooking staff.
We were at the Stadium RedWater on Saturday evening July 16th. The waiter was helpful, but could only do so much. I was there with my family and was very disappointed. At a restaurant of this calibre there should be at least bread served gratuitously. Charging us $3 or $4 bucks for something to tie us over until our meals are ready seems like nickel and dime-ing us. I ordered surf and turf and it was the worst meal I've had at a restaurant in a long time, maybe ever. The meat was cooked to my request, but was of such a poor quality cut that I had trouble cutting it with the steak knife and couldn't chew it long enough to swallow it. The vegetables were so over salted, they were almost bitter. They were un-edible. When I asked the waiter for a veggie re-do, they came back, not only without anything on them (no flavour what -so-ever), they were also barley cooked - completely rushed. I saw no need for this as the restaurant was not very busy. We were one of only two tables there at the time, so it's not like the kitchen was overwhelmed or anything. We will never, ever go back to RedWater again and will tell anybody who asks, about this experience.
We went there for our granddaughters birthday lunch celebration . There were 5 in our group and no one raved about their meal. I had your zucchini soup of the day which was terrible . My husband had your feature soup which wasn't any better.
We will not be coming back.
We were meeting friends from out of town and met at the Redwater Rustic Grille (NW) for dinner as we were told the food was good. As it turns out the recommendation was spot on. The food was delicious and presentation was lovely without seeming pretentious. 2 of us ordered the beef medallions with prawns, 1 ordered the short ribs and 1 ordered the beef tenderloin. We all agreed that our cut of meat was of high quality and done to our exact asking. The sides that accompanied our meal were also tasty and well presented. Portions in my opinion were just right; not small but not huge. Our server was attentive and had a great sense of humor as we teased her a little during the evening. She played right along and served us very well. This was a first visit for all of us and will not be our last. We are looking forward to having many more lovely meals there in the future. Our compliments to the chef!
My friend and I meet for a nice supper and visit . Red water grille is a favourite of hers and my first time . We had a great waiter that let us have a visit before we ordered our appetizer and meal . We both had the salmon and I will be back again for that dish as it was awesome! Had a nice after dinner coffee to finish off a very enjoyable evening out. I would recommend this restaurant as a great place to dine. So happy my friend suggested it
We were meeting old friends in a central location. I cannot say I was mad about the ambiance but the service was just great and the food was delicious. We were able to converse easily and the lighting was just at a comfortable level. We had a enjoyable evening with good friends and good food. I would go again
Two of us had an enjoyable lunch at Redwater last week. This is a comfortably casual place for dinner or lunch with a relatively varied and good choice on the menu. In this instance we had the special pork wrap and the chicken pappardelle. Both solid efforts and very tasty. The side-salad with the wrap was particularly well dressed. So no complaints and kudos with the food we had. On the other hand, I was mildly disappointed to discover the salmon - which used to be on the menu and was always cooked to perfection and served with terrific accompanying sides - was no longer available.
Last minutes, where to go! Been there before and loved it. We booked and off we went. Were seated promptly, servers were great and the food was all amazing. Started with bruschetta, the had the steak and stuffed potatoe cooked to perfection. We lady room for dessert so we shared the Lemon Panna Cotta and the Creme Brûlée. All all amazing.
Ever since they reopened after the fire at the nearby strip mall, I've wondered if the predictably good experiences we've had would change. I needn't have worried. We had supper here right before Mother's Day and were glad for the relative calm and quiet in advance of the expected crush of diners the next day. We started with the stuffed mushroom appetizer, and I had the 7 oz. sirloin, medium rare, with chimichurri and a side of oven-roasted sweet red peppers. I finished my meal with the chocolate platter: a trio of salted chocolate gelato, flourless chocolate cake with berry compote, and a delicate pot de creme. Everything was delicious, of course.
The service and food quality seems to be sliding.
I ordered the chicken, and I guessed it was sou vide cooked, as meat was pinkish - but bloody !! Undercooked unfortunately.
Service seemed disorganized.
Mixed up our desert order too.
I will think twice before going to this location again. Sorry, my previous experience here was only a little better.
Met for a business lunch. Asked for a quiet spot, which seemed to be interpreted as - ignore these guys. I ordered the Beef Drip Lunch special. Sloppy with an over toasted dry bun and drip with little flavour. Because we only ordered regular water, the wait staff never seemed to return. It was OK but far from excellent, and not good value for money.
I really enjoyed my meal at Redwater. I had the Tuna Poke for an appy, which was delicious, followed by the Sable Fish for a main. The main was equally exquisite! The server was clearly new, and was a bit hesitant and forgot a thing or two, but overall the service was still great.
I'll be back here again!
only thing that could have been better, the waiter did not make it back around very quickly to remove plates and such. Probably out back studying or something...very few tables occupied so I can see how that interrupts the flow of waiting, having done it myself.
Went for a special dinner a year ago and was not impressed at all. (Service and food)
Received a gift certificate so went there for my birthday. Christian our server was fantastic! The food was delicious and the chef accommodated a special request! Christian was very professional, the right amount of attention and very friendly! The manager came by and wished me a Happy Birthday as well. Thanks for a great dinner!
