Redwater Rustic Grille - Aspen Estates Ratings and Reviews
This place has always been reliable as a nice place to eat with very good food. On this particular occasion, our food was terrible - pizzas were either undercooked or burnt, the steak was cold and we ended up having to order another entrée so we didn't go home hungry. Although the staff were apologetic and did what they could to make things right, the $200 price tag for dinner was outrageous. I will think twice about returning to this particular location.
Their online brunch menu looked great so we made reservations. We were seated and given a single drink menu. Eventually someone asked if we wanted drinks. We had to ask for menus to find out it was a buffet. We checked the buffet and there were three empty hot trays and nothing that was on the online menu. We left without eating. Disappointing.
We used to booked Redwater for many special family occasions, but after a previous extremely poor experience last spring (over 1.5hrs to receive food after ordering) we decided to give it one more try. and are now unlikely to return again. Unfortunately, this experience was just "ok". Speed of service wasn't an issue this time, but food no longer seems to be worth the cost - parmesan fries without parmesan, garlic bread that was the equivalent of their previously complimentary bread and had no garlic, and cold asparagus. Steak was unevenly cooked - mostly to order, but parts way too rare. Not a place I can trust for a special occasion any longer.
They had just opened so it was quiet. I ordered a medium steak and it came out still super bloody. He took it back to cook more and still came back bloody. It definitely wasn't medium, it was rare. They didn't offer a discount or anything, and I didn't finish my steak. Otherwise good service.
Choose Redwater Rustic Grille for our anniversary dinner because of the pond view and the possibility of getting to sit outside. It turned out to be too cold for that but we still enjoyed a good view of the pond from our window seat. The food was delicious and that service was prompt and friendly. We would definitely go back.
Sorry to have to report that we were very disappointed in most everything. The service was slow because there were too few waitresses--- 2 is not enough to do an adequate job. The waitress was very pleasant and accommodating but just too busy. She told us there were only 2 in the kitchen as well. We thought we were going to have lunch but no, only brunch was served on a Saturday. That was very disappointing! We did manage to get some soup that was Luke warm. At one point we were going to go to Original Joe's next door but the majority agreed to stay.
The complimentary birthday cake was a very nice touch. This restaurant will not get good reviews until the owner hires more staff.
Do not go this restaurant on a Sunday evening. Items on the menu will not be available. The substitute also had only one item. The quality of the Prime Ribbon was below standard, it would not yield to a steak knife. The later evening Manager refused to deduct from Bill but offered desert which was supposed to be included according to Manager at time of ordering. I will not insult anyone by recommending this restaurant.
The restaurant was pretty quiet for a Friday night, we had reservations but didn't need them. Had the calamari as an appetizer and it was good but things went downhill from there. It took an hour and a half to get out main courses, margarita pizza was cold and the medium rare steak was blue rare.
Had high expectations of Red Water but were extremely disappointed
There was an 'issue' in the kitchen last Friday night that resulted in delays between seating and serving.
We were not in a rush, and accepted the delay... the food was wonderful.
Other guest were less obliging of the delay, but we saw the Manager repeatedly intervene to try to mitigate the 'issue'.
We'd eaten here before and it was my husband's suggestion as a place to celebrate his birthday. Though we had a reservation, the table was not prepared for us, the table we were shown to had not been properly cleaned, even breadcrumbs on there. Overall we found the server brisk and not very interested. Our appetizer took a long time to arrive, and was not what we ordered but this was handled very pleasantly. Our main meals when delivered had obviously been under the warmer a long time and we thought later we should not have ordered them at the same time as the appetiser. We found the restaurant a bit grimy and run down looking. Would not go back to this location.
very nice place very good service very cool spot but the food was below average which was disappointing. i had mash potatoes with my meal and i didn't even get an ice cream scoop size serving and the taste of my small serving of mashed potatoes was horrible. the fact that i could get better mash at a chain restaurant disappointed me and would prevent me from going back. nice place tho
Food was mediocre at best. I had the salmon and my daughter had the "surf and turf" - both were very bland. I'd heard Redwater was not doing well, but thought I would give it another try. On a Friday night, the restaurant was almost empty. I think I've given up on this place.
I've been enjoying Redwater for many years. This time my two guests were underwhelmed by the Chicken Papparadelle they ordered - the chicken was not of nice quality. They did enjoy their sorbet dessert, while it was my turn to be underwhelmed by the chocolate dessert.
The service was initially good but ended with dirty dishes not being removed from the table for quite some time (server even running to get dessert menus without removing dirty dishes) and then taking a very long time to take a dessert order. I guess he was much busier then than when we first sat down.
Nice outdoor patio on a hot day that stayed cool and had a nice breeze. Staff were excellent in providing additional umbrella shade when it was needed. Service was prompt but the food took a long time to arrive, which was surprising considering the small number of patrons. Thankfully, we didn't have a time constraint and could be leisurely. The menu is limited, and didn't match what the website said was available. The food was less interesting than the menu suggested. I wouldn't recommend this as a place for foodies.
Even for an almost empty dining room, service was very slow.
We ordered a bottle of wine that wasn't brought out until after we'd already finished our starter and right before our meal came out.
The reason, It turned out they didn't have the bottle we ordered. Twice. Got stuck with the house white.
Also, they only had one type of ice cream, so the chocolate dessert my wife got had salted Careamel ice cream instead of chocolate. And the gelato dessert that was supposed to be three different flavours was just three scoops of the same kind lol.
For a babysitter date night out I unfortunately got would up and dint enjoy it as much as I was looking forward to.
