Redstone American Grill - Oakbrook Terrace Ratings and Reviews
I was lookin very forward to enjoying my and my mom’s birthday brunch with our family at this restaurant. Initial host was awesome and seated us next to the fireplace per my request but I was very upset with the rest of our dining experience. Our waitress, Jodi, right from the start didn’t seem to want to serve us. Excellent service is when your waiter smiles, invites you to the restaurant, makes you feel welcomed to be there, comes to your table and asks if you need any additional coffee or water refills, brings utensils like spoons if any are missing on the table, is aware of our dietary restrictions which were written in the additional notes section in the open table reservations along with the note that we were celebrating life, simple things like this were just simply ignored. She decided to bring out the cake at a time when no one else but I was at the table; we had a newborn with us who needed a quick diaper change and our waitress saw my family leave the table to attend to the baby but again simply ignored it and brought out the sparkling candle and cake for only me to enjoy. My family was upset that eventhough they had asked Jodi on the way to the washroom to please wait a few minutes before bringing out the cake, but she simply shrugged her shoulders and said it’s icecream and walked to the table anyways. Just from the beginning of our service, the vibes were not positive and I wish it would have been different. The restaurant itself was warm and inviting and the food was delicious but lack of customer appreciation is why I gave this a 3 star rating.
We had reservations for my wife to celebrate her bday at 7 pm. It was very busy. We didn’t sit for 45 min but the drinks at the bar were wonderful. Then we waited a long time for our meals. We weren’t in a rush and loved the ambiance. No one recognized my wife’s bday though. The food was phenomenal! Sea Bass best ever cooked fish!
This is the second time we have tried brunch and will not be back for it. The service was good but our poor waitress was overwhelmed with tables and the kitchen staff made her life difficult. Only one person's eggs came out as ordered. The French Toast was also very good. The crab benedict was the disappointment. They did not put on enough sauce and the eggs were hard boiled which defeats the purpose of a real eggs benedict. So, if we do come back we will try dinner only. Perhaps if we had a smaller party it would have been better.
My server Pepe "didn't want to bore us with going through some of the menu" even though one of us hadnt been there ever and the other hadn't been there in years. The server didnt come off friendly at all. Didnt even crack a smile. My salad came out with no pecan (the kitchen ran out but didn't tell me) then I realized there was no cheese on it. I sent it back, should have followed my first mind and went to Bandera.
Our waitress was very nice but she had too many tables to wait on. Not her fault. Flatbread used to be much better. Couldn't eat crust because it was so hard. Seabees was delicious. Prime Rib was fatty. Just too many better places around for the same price. Hadn't been to restaurant in 5 years and probably won't be back. Nothing really bad about experience but nothing great, either.
We had to wait around 7-8 minutes for the server to come greet us and to take our drink order. The food took 35-40 to come to the table and the mashed potatoes that came with our ribs were cold. I had notated in my reservation that we were celebrating a birthday and nothing was ever mentioned or brought to the table. We had a gift card and used the entire value so that we wouldn’t have to come back.
Cold drafty place with lots of lowlifes. Mexicans speaking Spanish loudly in the hallway by kitchen. Had to send back food as it wasn't cooked. The flat bread pizza was re heated and burnt around edges. Did not taste fresh.recieved a menu with only one page out of 3. Finally was offered complimentary dessert. It was banana cream pie which was just thrown together in a bowl and just tasted like sugar. Did I mention the plank salmon was raw in the middle. Never again.
We went for NYE and it was nice, not as crowded as we thought initially. We were seated right away and our server was so very nice and friendly. She was a delight! I wish I could remember her name. Anyway, we enjoy the buffalo shrimp appetizer, I personally love the salmon and the steak options.
Everything was very good-food excellent. Bar service a little slow to table, but it was a busy night. Main problem is the seating that is an immediate right after you pass the hostess desk.
We were seated in one of the two tables that back up behind the hostess desk and there is an opening that goes between the two area. So, not only was it freezing cold because it is parallel with front doors, but we also heard most of the conversations of the hostess staff throughout the meal. It would be nice if they could put some kind of a barrier up next to the thermostat part of the wall to alleviate the dialog of the front desk and possibly cut down on the drafts that come from the door.
We enjoyed brunch again at Redstone. Love their breakfast items, but the brunch is really just a refill of what you already have. You can have as much as you want, but the initial portion is fine and filling. You really won't eat much more than one plate. So while the "brunch" is good, you might just want to order from the menu.
very disappointed that the website did not provide the restaurant hours for Christmas Eve. When I made the reservations all of the later time slots were blacked out so we selected the 2:30pm slot. We arrived in a timely manner were seated and were provided with a breakfast and lunch menu. When we asked our waitress she stated that they closed at 3pm. Very disappointed as we expected to have a nice Christmas Eve dinner and ended up having Eggs Benedict and a Philly Cheese Steak sandwich:(
I saw a dead mouse next to our table when we were seated. We were quickly moved, but management handled it poorly, I will never eat here again!! I have gone back and forth on whether to post this publicly, but as a person who dines our regularly, I would want to know if a restaurant has an issue as serious as this.
