Redstone American Grill - Oakbrook Terrace Ratings and Reviews
We have been to Redstone 4-5 times in the past usually with good to excellent results. I was a little disappointed this time though. My wife and I ordered a Caesar salad to split. It never came. When we got our main course we mentioned it to the manager but he seemed very ambivalent and actually kind of grumpy. I will say this, the main courses we had were very good but the attitude of the manager really turned us off. If he was a little more apologetic and offered an apology, this would have been forgotten right away. But now it sticks in our memory a little.
We will probably come back again at some point but not for a while.
I wanted to celebrate my birthday here since I heard so many great things about Redstone. Let me tell you...this place is superb! This was my first visit to Redstone and I absolutely loved the food, atmosphere and coziness of this place! I had an amazing time!
My friends brought a cake in and the crew at Redstone placed a sparkling candle on it. I love fireworks so this was absolutely delightful! Thanks Redstone for doing such an outstanding job! I will be back to visit!
Had a wonderful steak dinner there. A nice blend of some unique offerings as well as traditional foods. The steak was excellent and done perfectly. We had the grilled asparagus and root vegetables also, both of them being very good. The service was excellent. We did have a bit of a difficult time locating the restaurant, as there is not a sign outside that is visible from the street. We followed our noses to get there, but it was definitely worth it. It was a bit pricey, however, we visited on Veteran's day when they were offering a discount to Veterans, which was great.
The most awful dining experience of my life. From being seated 45 minutes past our reservation time, to running out of bread and half of our table’s entrees (and not being informed until 30 minutes after order placed) to the sputtering manager who was appalled when I suggested we be compensated for the horrendous experience we were having, I will never set foot in this abomination of a dining establishment again. After wasting two hours of our time, we cancelled our entrees and headed across the street to McCormick and Schmick’s where they welcomed us with open arms and actually fed us.
We were celebrating our 36th wedding anniversary. We were welcomed at Reception by first name, which put the evening on a more personal level. Our waitress was attentive and food was excellent. I had a wonderful piece of Prime Rib and my husband had the Parmesan Crusted Walleye. Both were very delicious, along with the Lobster Bisque soup. We decided to have the Warm Chocolate Chip cookie for dessert, and they served it with an extra special sparkler for our anniversary. Someone was there to take our picture too! A very wonderful experience and meal.
It was our 39th anniversary, so we thought we'd spoil ourselves to a nice evening out.
I believe that for the money spent, we could have gotten better food/service elsewhere.
Don't think we will be returning.
Service was just ok, nothing special, food the same.
The food was great. That is the only positive feedback I have.
For the prices the ambiance was lacking. I made reservations for a special occasion, I listed that in my reservation mentioned it to the seating attendant and nothing was done.
We were seated in the 'party' room off in the back - it was packed and so loud we could barely hear conversation at our table.
The wait staff was understaffed. Meals were forgotten, our dessert was delivered to another table and the waiter - it seemed was new. Not someone that should have been waiting on a large group.
For the over $500+ bill we had I walked away not impressed - and very disappointed.
If you are looking for high end dinner options go somewhere else.
This is one of our favorites. The Sea Bass is always excellent, and when I see it on the menu, no question as to what I'm having. Other favorites are the Salmon and Barbecue Ribs, garlic mashed potatoes and roasted root vegetables. We always have a flatbread, which are always excellent. Stoli Doli is a favorite drink of mine. All the food is good here, these are just my preferences. Good service too, always friendly, and helpful.
2/3 people had orders sent out incorrectly. One entree a salad was served with meat. The person who ordered the salad does not eat meat, glad she was paying attention before she started. When she told the server she ordered a particular salad but without the meat she responded "yeah it comes with chicken(perhaps turkey)" ..which she knew because it was ordered without meat. Think the service could have been better. Food was just ok.
We go to this restaurant a lot. We always request a “big” booth because our husbands are bigger guys and their regular booths are very small. They always honor our request. Last night we arrived early for our reservation and were told immediately that we could not get the Big booth. We said we would wait but after waiting a good half hour still no big booth. So we go to a table. The waiter walks up and tells us the soup of the day and the fish of the day is out. (Its 7:00 pm). The hostess gave us the wrong daily specials menu which we ordered from. The waiter came back 10 minutes later to tell us our items from specials menu were unavailable. We asked to speak to a manager. When the manager came over she told us it was her last night and basically didn’t care. We won’t be back.
We ate here about 4 years ago, it was excellent on that visit.
We arrived, seated right away. The staff were very nice. The food was not good. You can't get a steak at lunch time? Youngest daughter and I went with the Prime Dip. Good sandwich and plenty to eat with a side of fries. Though, I must say, I didn't feel full when done.
My oldest daughter ordered a Thai Chicken Salad. She didn't eat a quarter of it. She's picky, but I tried it. The chicken seemed to be some sort of shaved deli meat from a local grocery store and not chunks of chicken breast. The dressing was putrid. To call it awful would be a generous compliment.
My wife decided on the Parmesan Crusted Walleye sandwich. I think the tartar sauce was spoiled. Either that, or they know nothing of how to make a tartar sauce. The wife naturally slathered in on her sandwich before attempting to eat it. Scraped it off and the sandwich was bearable. The tartar sauce made the Thai Chicken taste like an Emeril Lagasse signature plate.
Worst meal I have ever paid for.
Save yourself, go to Wildfire.
I could live at Redstone. I've been there soooooo many times because they always take care of me. Me and two great friends of mine decided to get together midweek for dinner. We had a wonderful time. My friend's wife was a little disappointed that the Banana Crème Pie was sold out but we were fine. Cozy, friendly, and great food. Great place for any occasion.
Redstone never disappoints. Service is always excellent. From the friendly staff that greet you to the managers and wait staff. The food is also very good quality, tasty, and innovative. They seem to constantly be changing and improving their menu. We had the crab dip, Parmesan crusted walleye, and flat bread. Everything was excellent. The only knock I could possibly give would be that the bartender this particular night was a bit stingy on the wine pours, but that has not typically been the case. I would definitely recommend!
Redstone used to be relaxing and quiet. Seems now a lot of trash comes here and makes silly demands like putting tables together to watch a baseball game when clearly this is not a sports bar. Staff is nice but they cater to people with any requests and it takes away from clientele that just want a good meal in a relaxing atmosphere.
The food is very good with a nice variety and nicely prepared. Service was good but not overly attentive or remarkable. I was disappointed in the specialty drink. Ordered one of their special mixed drinks which was very disappointing. It was a small glass completely filled with ice with a very small drink volume. The ice made the drink taste watered down and hard to drink. When I inquired about it to the server she said that is their standard. Obviously won't be ordering mixed drinks there again.
