The quality of the food had diminished tremendously.
Good food and drinks! It was my first time there and my boyfriend and I enjoyed it. Waitress was very nice and friendly
We've been at this place a handful of times and it always surprises me on just how good of a restaurant it is. Food was really, really good and price is reasonable.
I was disappointed that with the tables half full at our reservation time and the fact that I requested a booth, the main hostess assigned us to a horrible table closest to the kitchen. I could understand if the restaurant was full, but there were many tables open so why give us the worst one, especially when I had noted a seating request in my reservation. A nearby booth opened up as we were walking back to the hostess stand and I asked the young man who was seating us if we could take that booth, he accommodated us.
The waiter was confused about availability of wine and entrees. Misplaced credit card.
Isabelle was a wonderful waitress!
I had a taste for prime rib so I stopped in and enjoyed the entree at Redstone. The Mac and Cheese upgraded side was not exceptional by any means but doable. The staff took great care of me so that I felt like a valued customer
Our waiter was very knowledgeable and friendly. The dinners we ordered were generous and tasty. We will definitely return
Nicely appointed facility. Very good food options closer to what one might expect in downtown Chicago. Comfortable, clean.
We went for brunch, not our first visit. As always, the food was good. The server was very nice and she was very good with our kids.
Meh just ok. We were disappointed with our return here. Not horrible just not as we remembered. Last time we enjoyed drinks out by the patio and a great dinner. This trip we were seated quickly(inside) ,had a really nice server but the atmosphere was annoying. Three tv’s -playing different sports ,full volume , plus bad music .... chaos. Couldn’t have much conversation. We like a fun atmosphere but this wasn’t enjoyable just comical.
We ordered crab cakes and sea bass dinners. A little overkill on the seasonings/sauces but good flavor combinations. Seafood was very fresh and perfectly cooked though.
The food was great and Ive been there a lot. I was terribly disappointed we were showed to the private dining area with had no ambience (I can't count that large screen tv with the fireplace video!). Since we had 6 in our party it was embarrassing to ask to wait and sit in the main dining room. The hostesses should check with the patrons before they're banished to this room. ICK. Will not return.
Our waiter was phenomenal!
We go there quite often and never been disappointed. Great service n fod
We arrived at 6:08 for our 6:15 reservation, before our guests. I advised the host that we wanted to wait a few minutes for our guests to arrive and he was down right rude. He told us that we needed to be seated then, because he had a table for us and might not in five minutes. We were showed to a very small table in a crowded corner. When I sat down, my chair was uneven as there were two surfaces. When I asked for another chair, the waitress advised me that the surfaces were uneven, which I already knew. She proceeded to hand me two shims to place under my chair leg. One dinner guest repllied, "you mean to tell me that you are going to have your guest, who is all dressed up, get under the table and fix her chair/!?!" I actually did attempt to do so. Next, we asked to be moved to another table. The next table was a larger booth in another section which would have been perfect. However, a second hostess came over and barked that we could not sit at this table as it had been taken. FInally, we settled in a third table. The waitress was very pleasant, but had also had three other tables seated at the same time. Service was extrememly slow, mostly due to the fact that every table in the resturant was filled to capacity with not nearly enough staff. None of the used plates, glasses etc were ever removed from our table. There was no one bussing to remove anything. In the end we ordered dessert and coffee. Accidentally, the waitressed dumped a full cup of coffee all over our guest and his phone. He was soaked through his sweater and white shirt. The waitress immediately apologized and ran to get a manager. Our friend luckily did not get burned, because the coffee was luke warm at best. Thankfully, we grabbed his phone and took it out of the case quickly. We did not leave the restaurant until 9:18, more than three hours later. The food was good, but I'd never, ever go back again after this experience. The manager did comp his dinner and our bottle of wine.
Great service good food. The food was good a little on the expensive side for what you got. As I said good. The buffalo shrimp though were outstanding. I would go back.
The food and service is always great. Love this place!!!
I brought 7 others with me to celebrate a friends birthday, at the suggestion of my daughter. She couldn't have been more dead on. I, we love Redstone. The cornbread is to die for. The staff is excellent. Keep up the good work. See you soon!
The person who should have greeted us with a smile, did not say a word or smile. For the price of the food, the atmosphere did not seem like fine dining. The noise level was high. Our soup never came so we canceled that and the food did not arrive at our table for 40 minutes. The manager did apologize and graciously did comp our meal. The food wasn't anything to rave about.
The food was good, but the service was horrible. Will not visit again
Like so many restaurants lately, service is lacking. A server (runner?) brings food to the table and leaves dirty plates that have been placed on the edge of the table to be removed. Had to call him back and ask if he would mind removing the obviously completed dish. Then had to flag down the waitress to order dessert.
Celebrating new job
You will not be disappointed.
Like the restaraunt itself....food is hit or miss....probably the appetizers were the best part of a expensive bill. The buffalo shrimp and calamari are expensive for the portions you get but really good.
Service was slow and not attentive. Water remained unfilled. Order was incorrectly delivered twice. Food is ordinary.
Drinks and appetizers were amazing and service was very good. Timing of food to table was excellent. I had the prime rib and was not very impressed... not juicy or tender. I know the other dishes - walleye, pork chop and ribs - were all good. For the money I'd rather go to restaurants that are a bit more expensive but entrees are better.
We came here for my wife’s best friend’s birthday. She likes higher end food and we have enjoyed this place in the past. The jumbo buffalo shrimp are to die for, but they came out cool to the touch. (I don’t send food back). We ordered 2 appetizers, but before our waiter left, we switched one of the apps for another one. He brought 3 apps out and bathed us for them all. I didn’t want to make a scene in front of my wife’s best friend and her husband. The friend’s husband cannot eat pork (religious reasons) and ordered the loaded baked potato side WITHOUT bacon. It came loaded with bacon. The friend asked for a taste of a wine, which was brought out, she liked it, and asked for a glass. It took 20+mins for the wine to be brought (after the waiter was asked ya more times for the wine). I wanted this to be a flawless night. But it wasn’t.
We had a very bad experience dining at RedStone. The waitress was very pushy and not pleasant at all. She seem to be not happy about doing her job. We didn’t get the great customer service that We usually get when we go. After complaining to the manager he did get us a new server. I did appreciate him understanding our frustration. Over all the new server was great but the food wasn’t as pleasant as before. I just didn’t enjoy the dinner we had that day. Considering our bill was just over $200. The food wasn’t worth it this time around. It was pretty tasteless and not filling .
Service was not the best, however, the food made up for the lack in the former!
This is the 2nd time I have been at Redstone and BOTH times I specifically asked for a quiet spot away from the noise so I can celebrate my husband's birthday. The 1st time we were stuck in the corner booth right by the expo line in the bar the 2nd time we were sat at the 2nd booth away from the expo line in the bar. I don't know what quiet spot means to them but definitely not in the bar.. needless to say because we were in the bar service was not that great because I unfortunately our server had tables all over the place. And the manager was at our table three different times 1. to fill our drinks to2. for our dessert order and 3. I had to ask him for our check. So even though the food was good we will not be back because they do not know how to accommodate for seating. (we had A530 reservation on a Saturday night was not busy at all lots of open tables)
Food was rushed. We were not finished with the soup course when the luncheon main part of the meal came to the table. The servers shifted plates around to leave the food at the table rather than asking if we wanted it held until the soup course was completed. The table seemed very cluttered and it didn't give a great feeling for the meal. I've been at Redstone often and this didn't happen before. Sloppy service today and that's too bad.
This was my and my boyfriend's 2nd time at Red Stone for date night and the food was even better this time than the first. The buffalo shrimp and jerk chicken fondue is absolutely amazing!!!!
We'll definitely be back again.
Menu changed, folks in our group disappointed, especially with meatloaf not an offer anymore. Also took quite sometime to receive our meal, waitress was very attentive & letting us know it was coming soon, seemed short staffed as even managers were hustling the food line...
Server made a mistake on 3 different order times - and was defensive about the first one. Place is definitely aging and service is not as great as it used to be. Menu has changed......
Food took forever , appetizer was over 20 min. Food came out directly after the app came out . Had to track down server to get drink refills after our cups were empty for 10 min.
Server was excpetional didnt bother us too much but still checked in on us food was amazing
They were very polite and accommodated my special requests with great organization and care.
Definitely handsome good food and a great ambiance. The server was very prompt and helpful with suggesting selections.
I was most recently at Redstone with my friends for my Birthday. We have celebrated many wonderful times at the restaurant over the years. The food is always delicious, desserts are outrageous (skillet cookie sundae) and we look forward to the warm weather for the outside venue!
