Redstone American Grill - National Harbor
We had a group of five. Excellent service and the food was exceptional.
The chef ran out of dessert at 8pm on a mother’s day. They should have prepared more and anticipation.
I had 2 reservations booked and my tables were not next to each other like i had asked them to be. I did not receive a call about my tables until 30 mins before my reservation started. That was very disappointing because me and my family were there for a birthday and mother's day dinner.
Everything was flavorful, down to the asparagus! A little pricey, but nice for special occasions! Great view of the harbor.
Their forte is rotisserie chicken, we opted for seafood (since it's National Harbor on the water). Mahi-Mahi with stuffed crab and risotto was absolutely incredible; Crab cakes (a signature dish) not quite up to par for area - the corn relish side was great, good string french fries. Other fish dishes also looked great. Flatbread pizza was solid as was kids mac-n-cheeese with fruit. Good options for kids -- $11 main with 1 side and soft drink or milk. Cornbread looked great -- and is a signature of the house -- wish we ordered at least a wedge; We went with regular bread with dips, dips were great, but a little pricey for only 1/2 a baggette. Service was ok, could've used a few more visits - water and sodas were long gone before refills were offered. One dessert for $10 (key lime pie), will serve 2-4 --it's a 1/4 pie, and very rich. Wonderful flavor - spot on crust! Good bar drinks -- a little pricey for the mocktails. Overall, fantastic -- we had table at windows with water views. Would definitely go again for National Harbor option, on the water.
The seasoned filet was very tender and seasoned to perfection. We really enjoyed ourselves and our waitress was wonderful and had the highest customer service. Thank your making my Mother’s Day special.
We were there on Sun May 12th to celebrate 3 special Moms. The food was wonderful, the service was a little slow for a buffet service. Drinks were forgotten. The table behind us was extremely loud and I feel the staff should have stepped in.
My mother likes Redstone Grill and we have eaten there previously. We have had a bad experience before, however , that was due to rude staff. Believing that everyone has a bad day, and because much time had passed, I decided to make a reservation for Mother’s Day. Our reservation was at 12;15p and we arrived a little before 12p. I checked in at the desk and we waited to be seated. There was a Mother’s Day buffet that was very close to the lobby and the people waiting to be seated. The salad, dressings, and other accompaniments were displayed openly and uncovered where every guest had to pass by on their way to be seated. My father saw two children playing with exposed shrimp and picking them up with their hands. Although we were surprised and appalled about the very unsanitary buffet conditions, we knew we were not going to eat from the buffet and instead order from the kitchen. After waiting to be seated for a curiously long time, my mother went to inquire about the wait since we had a reservation. My mom was told they had accidentally forgotten about us and they seated us immediately thereafter. We were seated without menus, however, after some time we were greeted by a very friendly server. We asked for menus and she explained that for special occasions the restaurant only has a buffet and does not serve from the kitchen. My father politely told her what he had seen of the buffet and also indicated that it was very unsanitary the way the food was displayed. She was very apologetic and indicated she would inform management of our concerns. Needless to say we did not stay. We went to McCormick and Shmick and celebrated with my mother. This is the second bad experience with Redstone Grill. I don’t want to imagine all of the unsanitary things about the buffet that we did not actually witness. After this experience, I do not believe we will dine here again.
Our waitress Cierra was outstanding! Friendly and attentive. Anthony the manager was accomodating. The food was 1st rate.
The traditional sunday brunch was not good and switched to buffet style. was not happy with food selection.
Everything on the buffet was good but our waitress was not up to par. In the middle of us eating she walked over to our table and gave us the omelette cards to order omelettes if we wanted. She said she forgot to give them to us in the beginning. Then as we were getting ready to leave we noticed that other tables were getting these rolls so we asked her and she said they were complimentary rolls. We all looked at each other then she said oh I’m sorry I didn’t know they were doing rolls today. The restaurant was full for Mother’s Day how did she not know? This was our first brunch here and wish she would have been a little more knowledgeable and focused.
A little loud and a little pricey. That being said, the food was great (Mother’s Day Brunch) and the staff were very friendly. Definitely kid friendly which was a concern for me with 2 small kids. I’d definitely go back.
Mothers Day Brunch was spectacular! The food was perfectly displayed, everyone was so eager and ready to provide service. The place was clean and I loved the music playing. I would totally recommend any day of the week!
Our server, Sierra, was outstanding. Food was great. Managers walk around to make sure that everything is just right; it gives a touch of caring. Chocolate cookie dessert was way too good! Overall, great experience.
The crab cakes and Brussel Sprouts was amazing. I ordered the grilled chicken wings and they were burnt. Could not be sent back since I ordered them to go.
I was very disappointed. This used to be my favorite restaurant in the harbor. The prices are way too expensive for the amount of food you're given. My mother and went to celebrate our birthdays. Her medium steak came out well done, and even the second one was medium well, but she dealt with it. The Mahi Mahi was dry and the portion was small even to eat in 2 or 3 bites. The buffalo shrimp came out 2 minutes I after we ordered them so I know they had been sitting in the kitchen for a few minutes and was not made fresh for us. I am thoroughly disappointed and I don't think I'll be coming back. The server and hosts were cool, but that's about it. The kitchen staff needs a lot of work. And it wasn't even a particularly busy night. So I shutter to think what a busy evening looks like in that kitchen
This is definitely a redo. Although there were a large number of very loud children that made it a little less enjoyable. But all in all a good joint.
Perfect location with a lovely view of the river. The food & service were excellent.
Excellent service and food! Our waitress, Keara, was so attentive and pleasant that we had to commend her service to the manager. Our kids loved their food was well. Redstone is one of our favorite restaurants and it never disappoints.
The scenery was wonderful but the service was sub par at best. My waitress seemed uninterested in our dinning experience and made executive decisions by way of ingredient substitutions as if we would not notice. When the manager came out to address these issues there was no sense of investment in the situation. Working In the service industry myself I am very empathetic but this service or lack there of was utterly unacceptable
We sat outside which offers a great view of the wheel and National Harbor. Had no issues getting a reservation on a Thursday. Our waitress was attentive when we first sat down, but after bringing waters was MIA for quite some time after we decided what to order. We ordered quite a bit of food to share, which all came out at the same time and was all cold. The food itself was tasty, but the fact that it was cold ruined the experience. We sat outside thinking it might be easier to have a conversation and it was quite loud. It wasn't really that crowded either from what I could tell. If we had quality service it might have made up for the noise and the cold food. I didn't touch one of the sides we ordered and said I didn't eat it because it was too cold and was still charged for it.
I was disappointed with my experience at Redstone, and will not recommend it. I was excited to try it at the suggestion of one of my friends, we were meeting for dinner and so I made reservations. When I called to check on the details of the reservation I spoke with someone, Cherisse (?) who was very kind and informative. But then when I actually got to the restaurant, the hostesses did not offer the level of service I would have expected. They did not acknowledge me even though I was at the podium and they were not helping anyone else. Once I got their attention, I let them know who I was and what time my reservation was for because I was about 5 min early. They let me know my table was being cleared and would be ready in 5 minutes. I stepped to the side to allow them to help the other people coming in behind me. I thought it was weird that so many people in the same size group as mine were being seated so quickly, but supposed they had reservations earlier than mine. After about 15 minutes, a guest in my party went back over to check on our table (because I was on a business call), and they said they had given it away, and offered for us to sit outside. There was no apology offered and no sense of urgency. They just looked over at me and back at their screen several times. After getting seated, the waitress came over (maybe about 5 min or so), and offered to start our order and open a tab. I declined to start a tab and she said that it was required for tables outside. I let her know that an outside table was not my initial choice and shared what happened inside with my reservation. She did not even acknowledge what I said and repeated that a card was required. I declined again to start a tab and offered to reseat myself if it was going to be an issue. She repeated it again and by this time, a guest in my part offered his card. Which as I suspected, became an issue when we were ready for our checks. I feel the whole experience was very unwelcoming.
Grilled avocado taco wasn't grilled. Needed a little effort to flavor for vegan who left off sour cream.
We really liked our drinks and the food was amazing! I apologize but I did not catch our servers name but he was a great person and very attentive and professional. He was very familiar with the menu and gave us great recommendations. Our many thanks to him!
Overall good experience. Service was a little slow, but not to the point of being unreasonable. Food was pretty good. I'm not a big vegetable lover, but the garlic spinach was really good. A bit pricey, but not too, too bad. Ambiance was pretty nice, especially with a front row view of the big ferris wheel.
Easter brunch was not impressive. The wait staff took forever to get drinks and food in the buffet wasn’t very good
Great food and vibe! They had all types of various food.
Redstone just never disappoints. From the homemade prepared food to the amazing views, and the professional staff, this place is always a win!
we were there for Sunday Brunch - food was very good - just thought was a little high - service was outstanding and had a view of the water - excellent meal
I have eaten at several Redstone restaurants. The one at the National Harbor by far was the most disappointing. Service was very poor. No refill on drinks and most of the food was served cold. I ordered the bone in rib-eye steak which was advertised as having the fat "hand trimmed" from it it and they must have forgot. 20% of the steak was fat. To me this steak at some point was frozen and not farm fresh as advertised. Definitely not a $43 steak. We also asked for ketchup for the kids but were told they were out of it.
Great location. Staff accommodated our request to sit by the water even though Fri night and busy.
Every dish ordered was Excellent. The Brussell Sprouts are the best I have had.
I made a reservation and even though that evening the wait time was over an hour, we were seated in minutes. Service was great and food was good..awesome view of the harbor.
Disappointed that the menu from one state differs from another. Plymouth Meeting location has beef Wellington and sea bass yet you didn’t have it in the national harbor. Menu on line showed Halibut but wasn’t on the in house menu. Otherwise I enjoy the service and atmosphere.
Great place to dine if you like American food. Also, our waiter Anthony was Awesome!!
Great old American food. No fancy smanzy! We both had baby back ribs with fries and they were fall off the bone and delicious. The fries were plain old thin fries without any special seasoning or breading. Service was excellent. Attentive without being overbearing. Only complaint was the noise level.
The assistant hostess was not friendly. Tables were open and I had to reserve on open table to get a table more quickly
Food is way over priced for the low quality. I paid $17 for a small burger that was just ok. This place is too loud. For average food Way over priced and service will not impress you. If you are not happy to serve people you should get another job.
The food was amazing- especially the steak, ribs, buffalo shrimp, and cornbread. Our waiter was extremely nice but either new or very uncomfortable. The view is also lovely over the harbor and of the Ferris wheel. The only negative was the hostess did not seem happy to work there and a bit rude. Made me feel iffy right away about coming there. The food is also a bit expensive for what it is but for a special night out it is worth it.
ive been there many times over the last couple of years and this was the worst experience ever and i dont plan on going back any time soon
