Redstone American Grill - National Harbor
Staff were very pleasant from hostess seating us to busboys, waitress and all. My friend and I hadn’t seen each other and had a year to catch up on, yet the staff were understanding and respectful of our need for quiet conversation and long stay. The food was exceptional (brunch items-eggs Benedict, French toast and, of course, trying their famous cornbread!). The view from the window seat was great and it was a very pleasant experience overall. We would highly recommend Redstone American Grill.
We had an early dinner when there were few tables. The server was quite friendly, and service was pretty good--until we had to wait a very, very long time before getting the check. The music was very loud. And even though there were few tables with guests when we were seated, they sat us at a table right in front of a party of 8, adding to the noise--when the whole restaurant was empty! Food was ok, but certainly nothing special beyond the typical chain restaurant, American high fat, high calorie typical menus. (But it might be worth a stop in for happy hour--didn't check out the bar option . . . )
Made a good date but not birthday celebration. The birthday dessert was just “eh” in presentation. I was expecting the fire candle from the online pictures, not just some candles. And only the server sang, it made my date cringe in embarrassment but I wanted it to be grand. It just wasn’t. The food made up for the night. I don’t think I’ll go back for celebrations.
Absolutely an amazing restaurant. We were please with the great outdoor seating. We enjoyed the great view and outstanding service. Definitely, a great experience and will return soon.
Great food, decent prices, satisfactory but not great service.
I have been to other Redstone, specifically the one in Marlton NJ. The difference level in service is quite large but the Buffalo Shrimp were amazing just like the NJ location. My advice is a bit more structure in assigning tables. Us and 2 other tables had to get up and ask for a server, that should rarely happen and I feel its the norm there.
It took forever to get our food (which tasted good). I initially thought it was just our table, but our entire section had to wait for their orders. It was so bad that several tables (including ours were given complimentary bread). However, our server (Duane) was really good. He made the experience a little better.
We had reservations for 11:30am. We get there at 11:15 and seated right away. 10 mins after we sat down the waiters were trying to figure out who would serve our table and then someone finally came over. We place our food and drink orders. Drinks come out - no problem. My husband orders shrimp and calamari appetizer with a wedge of cornbread and I order the pancakes. Another couple walks in 10 mins after us and they get there food and drinks in record time. 40 mins later with no food on the table, we are asking any of the wait staff who are willing to make eye contact to get us the manager. Finally the female manager comes over to the table and says she’s trying to fix the problem. That our food will be on the table in 3 minutes. This was after the waitress said our food would be right out 10 mins before that. The female manager says that it’s restaurant policy that it takes 30 mins from the time you order your food before it hits the table. When it gets past the 30 mins then they will contact the kitchen to see what’s going on with the order. We told her to cancel our order and we will pay for the drinks. The 2nd manager checks the computer to see when our food order was placed. The only upside to this bad experience was that we didn’t have to pay for our drinks. So honestly I can’t rate them on the food because I never tasted it, the morning mule was okay, the service sucked. I won’t be going back to this restaurant. The restaurant wasn’t busy, there were plenty of open tables.
The restaurant was good, the waiter was perfect our breakfast brunch was also good however getting in was strange. We made reservations on open table received confirmation text/email etc. proceeded to the restaurant and was told by the hostess that we had no reservation and that we are not allowed to book a reservation via open table for reservations on the same day. Lucky for us it was not peak time and we were able Robbie seated but that would have been such an inconvenience had it been peak time and no tables were available. Somewhere there is a disconnect with the Open Table service and this locations policy’s for reservations.
Great food in a great location! We loved sitting by the water. Our waiter was very nice and attentive to what we needed.
The service was spotty and not necessarily attentive. The portions were small for the price point. Since this was not my first visit to Redstone Grill, I know that overall performance can be better. An emphasis on better service can improve the bottom line and garner better reviews.
Server was spectacular!
My table had the buffalo shrimp w/blue cheese, crab dip, bbq grilled wings & the chefs breakfast & everything was delicious! Service was very friendly but a little slow. I overall it was a great experience.
We were celebrating my new job promotion and decided to eat here for brunch. The service was ok, they forgot my husband’s syrup to his pancakes, I had to wait forever for my mimosa, and though our server was nice, I think he had more tables than he could handle. It will be a while before I come back. Buffalo shrimp were phenomenal as always.
Wonderful dining experience!!! Terrific service ... Thanks so much!
This was my 2nd time dining at Redstone and I feel its a very nice restaurant. I had the salmon and it was perfect. However, I didn't rate it a5-star because of the flies. Both times I went there, I had a problem with the flies. It was very annoying trying to enjoy my food while swatting flies. This happened throughout the meal.
Great! The brunch was delicious!!!
It was a good place for a celebratory lunch for a coworker. There were a couple of mishaps by the waitress but nothing to ruin the lunch. She was busy and was pleasant and friendly.
Service was Excellent!!! Love the atmosphere and the view. The food portion was VERY small for the price. That’s my only complaint.
We expected a special outing for a birthday, and told the restaurant staff we were celebrating, however the experience was just ordinary and the wait staff made several mistakes with out orders.
Great meal and even better service!
Food was not bad except they had two of our orders in correct (1. gave us sausage instead of bacon 2. was suppose to have no sauce but there was sauce on top it) and the eggs for the benedicts were over poached.
Service was not good. Everything we asked for took forever. We had to remind the server to bring things we requested and even didn't get a couple things we even asked for multiple times. Additionally, the server decided to tell us we never asked for something, when I know for a fact I ask him and another server.
It was just not a pleasant experience over all
Food was okay. I had cornbread and crab cakes but it took way too long to come out
Party of Six was a party of seven when we arrived. Thank you for accommodating for one extra guest!!
Had a great time, food was good, and view was awesome, just wish the waitress was a little more attentive to our table.. I would’ve understood if it was crowded but the restaurant was not. We had to have a staff member go get her several times.. she was very nice however just MIA!!!
Oh also the one alcoholic beverage that was ordered was non alcoholic and she forgot 2x to take it to the bar to get the alcoholic version:-(
Great food. Very loud despite not being crowded. Maybe it was the several TVs running although there was no one sitting at the bar.
Staff was wonderful. We waited over an hour for our food after receiving appetizers due to a “problem” in the kitchen. Our waiter and the manager kept us informed and recognized the delay, but I can’t give a high rating for service when we waited so long. Location was very nice and food was delicious.
Average. Nothing extraordinary.
It’s a great location but seems to struggle a bit to no fault of the staff. It was a rather hot day and the flies in the restaurant didn’t help the ambiance. Our waiter was very professional and courteous, however it appeared he was being asked to cover a very big area. He did his best to provide quality service and we tipped him for his efforts.
I ordered the kahuna chicken sandwich and it was less than appealing to look at. As a military guy, it’s rather easy to impress, but this seemed like a sad effort to provide a twist on a chicken sandwich. The lettuce and pineapple on the sandwich were complete dry, it had no evidence of sauce and the fries tasted like they were cooked the previous day.
My wife had the rotisserie chicken with gravy and it looked rather appealing. However, the half bird was dry in most parts and the gravy seemed like an attempt to cover that up.
This is my first semi-negative post regarding any restaurant we’ve booked via OpenTable. I’m willing to give it another try it we went on a Friday that was nowhere near busy. So I can only imagine what it would be like, if national Harbour was having a an event or such.
Our waitress - Sophia was amazing - her personality and overall service was top-notch. She was knowledgeable and attentive! I'll request her on my next visit.
The hostess who opened the door (we arrived before 11a) and seated us was not welcoming or friendly - she neglected to greet us and didn't have an inviting personality or even a smile on her face. That's not what I expected.
Thank you for reading.
Enjoyed our lunch on Sunday so we returned on Monday for lunch.
The steak salad was perfect and satisfying and the service was excellent.
Food was delicious. Service was good. Loved the non alchoholic drink options.
We went to watch the USWNT game and we were allowed into the lobby early to wait. We asked for and received our preferred seats. We were very happy we made reservations and because we followed the rules and arrived early, everything went as planned. We had great food for a good value. And service was consistent and efficient. Mikaela was a good service provider as well as the hostess! All in all a great way to watch the big screen at the National harbor while receiving good food and service!!!!
Received a last minute reservation on the 4th of July and was accommodated wonderfully. The food was good, but for the appetizer, it was more bacon than crispy brussel sprouts and the lunch entree would have been better if the Summer Salmon special have more of the tropical salad.
Awesome dining experience outside by the yachts taking in the view of the big wheel and planes coming in.
Went for Sunday brunch with a friend. We had a window table which was nice to people-watch. Our server was very attentive, and checked in a lot. Two different managers checked in as well. The only issue was the delivery, which was really slow. It took a long time to get drinks, and a reeeeeally long time for our food to come. Food was good once we got it.
I made a reservation and was very disappointed when I could not get a seat outside on there Terrace because they were saving seats for large parties and no one ever showed up to the table and then they continue to put smaller parties at larger table so I felt very slighted that I could not get to seat I originally requested that remained empty. However the corn bread and butter was delicious.
Took a co-worker to lunch to celebrate her retirement. Seating was fair, we could see into the kitchen. My burger was good, crab dip was runny. The honoree sent her fries back because they were cold, she received her brussell sprouts when the meal was over. I'm disappointed and let down
