We have generally had good experiences at Redstone, Eden Prairie, however, our experience with our family of six recently proved disappointing. First, two drinks had to be returned, then a prime rib ordered rare turned up at least medium well. Then we were told there was no rare left, and they substituted a higher-priced steak and charged that amount. Finally, though less frustrating, the service was slow particularly between entrees and dessert.
I really like the service of the people who work there
Nice-looking restaurant, but disappointing food - hamburger & prime rib French dip sandwich both served sloppy with soggy bun.
Took a long time for the server to greet us, then another 10 min to get the water for the table I requested. Apps - 1 was extremely disappointing (meatballs) portion was so small and we didn’t find any cheese (mozzarella stuffed, per menu) and buffalo shrimp was brought out with blue cheese (requested none at time of the order). Took another 5- 10 min to get a new one out. No manager ever came over, nothing was offered for our inconvenience. I’ll stop there- doesn’t get any better. We spent over $200 for 4 people and it was so-so. Disappointing Redstone... seems to be getting worse.
Even though we had a reservation, we still had to wait about 10 minutes to get seated. We were attended to right away and right up until our food was delivered, but then it was as if we were forgotten about for a 1/2 hour, never checked on, water glasses dry. The food was very good and our second round of drinks were delivered right away. You could tell our waitress was busy with other tables, but never made it back over for quite awhile, when she did, she stated she’d go get the check, my other guest asked to get desserts to go, we weren’t offered an option before we mentioned we wanted to order them. We were celebrating three birthdays in one family and it would’ve been nice to be attended to a bit more, even after the food was delivered.
The food was amazing but the restaurant was really dark and quite pricey. Our server was great and very accommodating. (I'm a picky eater) We will definitely go back
The food was awesome and fast! The server was nice but spoke a little too fast for one to really understand what she was saying. The ambiance was beautiful (quiet & dark but not too dark). My husband and I don't get out much due to busy lifestyle (4 children) but this was the perfect date!
Very pleasant way to spend Valentine’s Day. The food was excellent with a big variety to choose from. The appetizer of scallops and the house salad was ample for me. Hubby had hamburger and could only eat half. Want to go back.
Awesome service and great food very friendly staff
Valentines Day. Was nice. Food was great
Great food and experience as we always enjoy this restaurant.
Busy night for Valentine's Day - excellent food as always.
We've typically enjoyed our meals at Redstone so decided to go there prior to Valentine's Day for a night out. Unfortunately, the menu selections didn't include one of our favorites, the calamari recipe had changed (too much breading more shrimp than Calamari) and the sea bass was mushy. They did take the fish back and credit it. Since my husband already had his food, I just ordered a salad. In the end, we had a mediocre meal for too much money. Simply wasn't worth it.
The hostess has a horrible attitude
Way more hassle than have reservations should ever be.
Had to get the manager to even get a table where requested and confirmed when reservation was made.
NOT customer friendly
Busy Saturday night and had reservations, but had to wait 30 minutes to be seated. Brian, our waiter, was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu and offered to make substitutions if we desired. We ordered drinks and later our dinner entree - Pan Seared Chilean Sea Bass with brandy-garlic crust, stir fried vegetables with Asian sesame vinaigrette and basmati rice. My wife had the Blue Cheese-crusted Filet Mignon with garlic mashed potatoes and root vegetable medley. My sea bass was delicious and perfectly cooked and flavorful. I substituted grilled asparagus for the bell pepper medley and glad I did. The wood-fired asparagus was slightly smokey, tender crisp and delicious. Unfortunately, plating was a mess. There was too much rice (about 2 cups) covering the plate with asparagus spears scattered over the top then the sea bass on that so it made the sea bass look small by comparison. My wife ordered the 10 oz filet medium rare, but it came out raw to rare so she ate around the edges that were cooked correctly. Her roasted root vegetables (butternut squash, sweet potato and parsnips) were undercooked as well. We had to ask to see Brian so we could get the filet and vegies re-fired or replaced. When it came back, the filet was mostly medium to medium well with 3 separate pieces of meat on the plate and the vegies were untouched. They should have prepared a new dish to get it right but didn't. I ate while she waited then I waited while she ate. I hate when that happens. When the manager came over to check on everything, we told him what happened with the filet so he comp'd her dinner. The filet was tasty, just not a good experience. We ended with Sebastian Joe's ice cream with delicious caramel and hot fudge toppings, but it didn't make up for the disappointing experience.
