Redstone American Grill - Minnetonka Ratings and Reviews
The Breakfast brunch with family scrambled eggs, bacon, hash browns and toast was delicious. They started us off with an individual round of pumpkin with melted Carmel butter sauce. Yummy! I will
Definitely be returning with more friends. Service was great and friendly.
The Buffalo Shrimp were delicious as always. However, it took a little while for our entrees to arrive. We were also given lunch menus, this caused a bit of confusion after our orders were placed. My initial order was not available. My alternate order was delicious.
We waited on a Saturday evening for over 30 minutes to get our drinks. they were well under staffed especially on a Saturday evening in a mall setting that is 2 weeks out from Christmas. Everyone and their brother were there and we had reservations at 6:00pm got there at 5.45Pm were seated but waited as they only had 3 waiters serving a mass room of people how stupid can you be be not staffing up for weekend evenings like this before the Holidays. Everyone was shopping in the mall and then going to eat. Shame on you for making what was to be an enjoyable evening out with family into an aggravation.
Food at Redstone is always delicious. We shared two appetizers: the chicken (+bread, grapes and apples) fondue and the fig & prosciutto flatbread. Both are yummy. AND, of course, we finished with the best banana cream pie in the Twin Cities. Delicious crust, smooth/yummy filling, REAL whipped cream, fresh bananas - YUM!!
Our server was very patient as our party staggered in as a result to several traffic accidents in the area. I️ called to push the reservation back 15 minutes and the hostess was extremely accommodating despite the very busy evening. Our food was delicious and my entire party left feeling very relaxed and pleased with the evening. This will be the go to Friday spot.
We are usually very happy with our experience. This visit, we waited a long time for our food. The server and manager came out to let us know there was a problem with our food being over cooked and our new entrees would be out soon. It’s great they told us that and gave us free soup beforehand but we should have been told right away about the problem. We waited long enough in the beginning to down grade our experience. Tell your customers immediately about a problem instead of making them sit there and wonder.
Everything was great with the exception of the staff not remembering I booked my reservation for a birthday. I had to excuse myself from the table and track down the hostess to remind her. I had called in advance and had asked for a specific dessert to be brought to the table. This was disappointing. We also had 7:00 reservations and were not seated until 7:40.
We had a table of 12 to celebrate a courthouse wedding, it was early afternoon, so there was no problem with noise or us getting in the way of other diners. The staff couldn’t have been better. Always available, but not intrusive. With the backdrop of the decorated patio, it felt very festive. Food was very good, as usual.
I have been eating in your restaurant for many many years! I was just told by my waitress that you will NO longer have the soup of the day! Yesterday, I was eating shrimp chowder! But No more the waitress said and had no reason! I ordered the wedge with chicken! The chicken did not taste like it was cooked through and through! Disappointing!! We girls love salads!
This is the first time i was really dissapointed in Redstone. The service was below expection and the fries I ordered were cold, it took a while before they brought new ones but these were luke warm. The burger I ordered should have been done medium but was more medium rare than medium. The waitress also forgot to at theOjus to the box while my wife specifically asked for it.
I won't go back to this location and will stick with the Maple Grove location.
It was a little dark and hard to see the menu depending on what area of the table you were sitting at. The mahi-mahi special I had was great, but could have used a salad or other vegetable- for 27$, I would have expected more color and nutrition vs. just fish, rice, plantain strips, and pineapple salsa... all yellow/white color. The cajun ribeye, ribs, and burgers were good as well, but the other diners said the fries were nothing special (expected more from a nice restaurant), and the coleslaw was a little off in spice/flavor balance. Our server was great- smiled, positive, accommodating. Booths are comfortable. TVs in such a nice place always baffles me, and is a distraction and an eyesore.
We were seated promptly at our reservation time. Waitress came to table immediately. I asked for happy hour menu. She indicated that they only give it to people in the bar area but she would get me one. I wasn't sure on a beer so she gave me a sample. She described the specials in detail. We ordered and the food was served in a reasonable amount of time. Food was excellent. We've been to Redstone many times and always enjoy the meal.
I normally love Redstone at other locations but this one was LOUD. Just very, very loud. I am not sure if it is the way it was designed but there is not enough sound dampening effects. Our group of 6 people sat at a round table in front of the fireplace and could hear every conversation behind us but not each other. We spent the entire time saying "WHAT?" across this table to each other. I have never experienced this at any other locations. It was my 30th birthday and pretty much ruined the evening. There was no laughing or quick conversation from the constant repeating our every word. I went home and wanted to cry. Not the birthday celebration I was expecting. (PS it was a Wednesday. I can't image trying to eat dinner there on a weekend - Bring earplugs.)
The food was blah. Nothing exciting. The pesto pasta was bland. The Caesar salads were good. The fondu was basic. Nothing to say I must have this again. The sandwich and fries ordinary. Just nothing to say this was a place to repeat
Step up the flavor factor
Really nice experience! Met family who were visiting from FL, and they had a really good time as well. Food was very good, place is so nice. We stayed and chatted for 3 hours, and the ambience was perfect for good conversation. Server was attentive and responsive.
We had spectacular service and our waitress was very knowledgeable and attentive to our table. This inspite of the fact that it was extremely busy. The jerk chicken fondue is amazing and our party of five was quite impressed with the mains. I personally am pleased they brought back the Chilean Sea Bass....simply phenomenal. Great value!
Food was fantastic as usual as was our server . 2/3 of our party was on time for the reservation. However, when they were seated informing the staff of our reservation it was not recorded as checked in. When the last person arrived they were told the reservation was missed. The hostess was rude about this especially when told the party was seated already. Another hostess walked me around the restaurant until we found my seated party and said they would correct the error on the missed reservation. They did not correct with Open Table so I received an email saying the reservation was missed. Very disappointed in the reception at the host stand, totally coloring what would have been a lovely evening.
Service was terrible, they forgot part of our meal, location is poor, the previous location was better, food was just ok. This was my third time to this location and unfortunately all three times it was poor. Will not go back, too many good choices in Wayzata,Excelsior and downtown.
I love Redstone and love the food! Our experience at the Ridgedale location last evening was not up to the standards I have at their Eden Prairie location. It extremely loud last evening,
we had very slow service and a waitress that I felt was very new and not up to the speed
she should be for a lively busy restaurant. I ran into some business clients who said it
was really hard having a business dinner as it was so loud!
