Redstone American Grill - Marlton Ratings and Reviews
My wife's meal had to be remade (brought wrong dish out the first time) and by the time they had her meal ready, I was done eating.
Then, they offered to comp her a free dessert. Then, when her coffee came out, the cup had lipstick marks on it. (My wife doesn't wear lipstick.)
In the end, the manager offered to comp the desserts and coffee for both of us, but even that felt too little, too late - and he lacked any sense of apology for the mistakes.
I frequent Redstone and decided to take a date. The service was slow and I ordered the Filet Minot (Medium Rare), and the steak was undercooked. I sent it back and it took more than 15 minutes to receive a filet cooked Medium Rare. When the manager brought the steak over, she just asked me to cut into it and make sure it was cooked to my liking - I said yes, and she just walked off not saying anything. No apologies, except from the server.
I was thoroughly disappointed with the entire experience and was very apologetic to my date. Next time, I will choose a different location for a date.
I have been going here a very long time. But lately it seems it is taking longer for the food to come out from the kitchen. This time we actually asked the server where it was. I always order the Steak Cobb Salad.. This is the 2nd time I have noticed that it has gotten smaller. The only thing I think is that it depends on who you get in the kitchen making it. The corn relish was all tomato hardly any corn. The asparagus tips very small.. Plenty of bacon..Not enough of lettuce and I request Romaine.. It was just not good. The Chopped Chicken Salad was much smaller as well.. So I think there might be a problem in the kitchen and the expeditors that are supposed to look at what is going out. Next time I will say something.. I just hope I can keep saying "next time."
We're from out of town and generally always go to another local restaurant we know and like in Marlton but, this time we wanted a change and tried Redstone, after not having been there in about 5 years. It was wonderful! From the service (we had a waiter named Jay – he is awesome!), to the food (braised short ribs AND key lime pie were both out of this world) to the ambience, we just had a great experience. I also ordered a mixed drink I had not had in ages – a Malibu Bay Breeze – and it was the best I ever had, and it came in a huge glass, not that I needed that. Not a skimpy drink at all). A lot of bartenders do not make it correctly but this one hit it out of the park. As I said to Jay that night when we were leaving – “What’s not to like about this place?” Very glad we went back after only having had a burger there many years ago.
For the price of the meal I expected more. The food was good, but not great -- I think stuff had been sitting under warming lights for too long which ended up making the toast (for brunch) so hard it wasn't edible, and the omelets came out crusty and cold. The flavor was good, but so very disappointed. Who want's to eat a dried out, cold omelet? I feel like our apps took longer to get to the table than they planned for, and so our meals just sat there waiting for us to be able to work through the apps. I would have been disappointed with the meal at half the cost, so given what we paid, I think my 3-star rating is probably generous. I so wanted to enjoy this special occasion meal, but I wasn't so lucky.
Treated my cousin for her special birthday and we really enjoyed ourselves. Our waiter,
Ron was absolutely the best, friendly and very informative making our luncheon experience most enjoyable and entertaining. Special surprise ending to our dining experience made my cousin's day. Don't want to spoil the surprise in case your celebrating a birthday, just inform your server ahead of time, secretly of course. Food and drinks were perfect!
I usually leave a great review for Redstone because in the past, my food was prepared perfectly & service was amazing. This trip? Prime Rib was tough & dry for a slice that should be cooked medium rare. Parm crusted fish was unseasoned & bland. Manager usually stops by table to welcome guests but was clearly unavailable this evening. Get back on the horse redstone or you will lose customers.
Treated my best friend to a delicious birthday luncheon. we had a great time and our server was really quite friendly and extremely helpful in explaining all of our choices. I surprised my friend with a dessert served with a lit sparkler, which made her smile from ear to ear. Tasty food, lots of options making it a memorable experience for both my friend and myself.
