Redstone American Grill - Eden Prairie Ratings and Reviews
We had 8 women. Birthday lunch. Ryan our server was so accommodating! Fabulous food, great service, good gluten free menu( they could add gluten free flatbread and all corn tortillas for tacos!)
Surprised us with two big wonderful birthday desserts! ( one gluten free)
This was a birthday dinner. We arrived in the waiter took our drink order and delivered it minus one wine. It took several request to get the wine. He was so intent on getting the corporate spiel out that he did not realize people were talking. He twice tried to take order when everyone was not present at the table. Once the order was placed it took 40 minutes for the food to arrive. Unfortunately only four of the five meals arrived, the fifth the hamburger we Saul being slapped on the grill after they realized it hadn’t been cooked. Two minutes later it was served browned on both sides and raw in the middle. It was inedible and no one came to check on it. I gave my daughter half of my meal so she had something to eat. There is more but I am not going to list it. We have been eating at Redstone for over a decade, this was our last meal there.
Not our best experience. We are regular customers of Redstone and go 10-15 times per year. Just had a bad experience this time with having to send food back because it was prepared wrong. We had to ask to have it removed from our bill after the revised order came 15 minutes after everyone else at the table got their food. The management should pro-actively discount the bill when an error occurs of this nature. The customer should not have to ask.
Our normal experience is excellent, just had a bad one this time.
Still pretty new to the Minneapolis area. We were looking for a place that could please a variety of diners and this succeeded. Our server was absolutely excellent. Charlie, I think? Charles? I wish we could remember. He had an ease and intelligence about the service and was friendly and thoughtful. Serving is not easy given all the expectations of customers, changing menus, etc. We hope we are seated with him if we return.
Food was good. Not as seasonal farm-fresh as we tend to enjoy most, but everything was good with balanced flavors, served at the right temperature. Food was just interesting enough and nicely presented.
Gluten-free menu was very small compared to the regular menu, but many dishes on the regular menu looked like they would easily be prepared without gluten (find a great gluten-free bun for the burgers, and gluten-free bread for sandwiches). Not sure why salads weren't on the gf menu?
The room is beautiful and the bar looked amazing as well.
We went to Redstone on Friday especially for their shrimp corn chowder. They were sold out. We dine at Redstone a lot and more often than not are never disappointed. Friday was not the case. Out of the soup, my husband was served his alternate soup choice before we received our waters.
Had spoken to receptionist 2 hours before reservation & asked that I be given the check because it was my friends birthday. She assured me that she would let the server know, & that something special would be done for the occasion. A "fill in" server took our order & gave incorrect information on the "farm raised" vs wild caught fish. When our check came it was given to the birthday boy & nothing special was done until I complained. Communication is poor! Very noisy with all TV's up hi with game on.
I am a longtime customer of Redstone's Eden Prairie restaurant. I've never had a bad meal there, and the service is always quite good - attentive but respectful and usually not overbearing. The server we had yesterday was exceptional, exactly what you'd want for a meal in a business setting.
Service staff was great, good recommendation, food was hot and flavorful.
Host interaction was horrible, no greeting at all, not welcoming, didn't even say hello, just awkward silence until I stated my name and said 2 for dinner. Then I was asked if I had a reservation, yes that's why I stated my name and said 2 for dinner. Noted an anniversary on our reservation and it was never mentioned. We declined dessert and went to another restaurant for after dinner drinks and dessert, 2 chocolate martinis and 2 desserts, lost opportunity for you. Good experience overall just a couple things would have made it memorable.
We sat in the upper area near the rotisserie chicken and noted how it was quiet enough to talk and hear each other comfortably. We had the day's special catch, scallops. They were excellent! Good wine and nice desserts topped off a great way to celebrate the birth of our grandson.
We enjoy Redstone for the food and ambience - and the service is good, too. We were disappointed this time initially with the service. I had noted in my reservation it was a special occasion - a 50th bday with a surprise guest. The first table we were seated at was in the bar which was too noisy to have a conversation and right in a traffic path. We asked for a quieter table, and they seated us at a table near the kitchen, right outside the bathrooms and a back door to the outside that was in constant state of opening - blowing cold air on us. NEITHER of these tables were suitable for a special occasion! So we moved a third time to another booth in a quieter area where we could talk and the waitress was outstanding! She made the ocassion fun and memborable for us. We will be going back, but now I know to specify: not in the bar, and not near the kitchen, bathrooms and backdoor.
I made a reservation -- 1 week prior to our special occasion dinner - and I asked for a table against the wall because my father has difficulty hearing. We were given the WORST table in the restaurant. In the middle of the main aisle. That ruined the entire night.
Went their for my wife's birthday. I got the ribs. They were good, just wasn't a ton of meat on them. Wouldn't order them again for the price. Waiter was very good. Ambiance was very nice.
One thing that questioned me was when did they stop giving a free dessert on people's birthday? Obviously not a huge deal. But don't remember the last time I went to place and didn't get one... (told the waiter about it before the main course and thought we might get one since we have in the past at other Redstone locations)
Nice place to eat though with friendly service.
