Redstone American Grill - Eden Prairie Ratings and Reviews
Good atmosphere, average noise level. Hamburger was very rare , ordered med./well for one of our guest. They were very accommodating to make a new order, although it took quite a bit of time for a new order to return. In the meantime the others had finished our meals , asked a couple of times if they could take our plates and if we wanted to order DESERT. Our guest was still eating! It DOES make a big difference in the dining experience. No comp meal, no next time you come in appetizer no comp desert. A little disappointed!
Redstone always has excellent service and the food is always good. I love the meatloaf and they discontinued that item so a small disappointment for me. However, I found many other items of interest on the menu and had a lovely meal. Drinks are special....the 'dolie' is a favorite. If you haven't had one, try it next time. The banana cream pie is to die for. Our favorite dessert. We go there once a month and have yet to leave disappointed. It is our 'go to' place. Give it a try and see for yourself.
Overall was good but would be much more enjoyable if music not so loud. Asked for it to be turned down a bit and manager informed “affects entire restaurant”...well, I think most people wouldn’t mind it a tad softer so that conversations could actually be heard without screaming over the music! I am an Audiologist with two hearing impaired parents and level was too loud for even normal hearing persons. Let’s get back to background music!
This is a very pleasant environment, with good food, reasonable prices and great service. Good parking is always available, and the restaurant is comfortable and inviting. The food, while not very inventive, is generous and well prepared. I would have preferred a bit more originality but the lunch menu was adequate to satisfy my taste and the rest of the crew. Service was excellent, attentive and considerate. Overall a good place to meet up and enjoy your friends.
Our waitress didn't tell us about all of the specials. The food was really only ok, not great. Our plates weren't cleared all at once. The waitress would leave half of them on the table and not come back to get the rest. Some of the food was barely tepid when it came to the table. The delivery was off. Drinks weren't refilled promptly. The restaurant wasn't busy and the service should have been better.
The food was amazing. The host was very nice a friendly. Felt very welcome. The server wasn’t as pleasant. He was just rushing us to get out. Did not recommend or even tried to make conversation. We felt unwelcome. Although the next table he was helping, he provided excellent customer service to them. They were chit chatting and he made lots of recommendations from the menu to them which he didn’t provide to us.
We’ve been going here and other red stones for 10 yrs. they have the best ribs this is the 2nd time we experienced the worst for both service and food. With the same waitress. She ha short blond hair. Is she having pms ? She appeared tired cranky. They changed their menu esp kids Mac n cheese is so small. Most kids only eat Mac n cheese please don’t scale back the Mac n cheese. They are cheap to make. My calamari w/ hot sauce was horrible. So spicy even after I rinsed it off with my old water. The waitress was the worst. Not attentive to anything the only time she was friendly when she dropped the check. No water refill no checking on the food quality and service. I have 1000$ worth of gift cards. I’m gonna give them out to my businesses. I won’t be coming back here again. Different management, different chefs, and menu. I’m over red stone. This will be the last time for my husband too.
We both had the steak salad. Steak prepared perfectly (though there was not much of it). Salad was delicious (I changed out the dressing to blue cheese, which was much better). Greens were fresh, asparagus salad was tasty though a SMALL part of the overall salad. $17 was a bit pricey for 4 small, thin slices of steak.
Corn bread wedge is now FIVE DOLLARS, which is ridiculous. Tasty, however.
The overall review suffered due to the fact the the lamb that I ordered was tough and flavorless. I was very excited when i saw that the lamb shank was a special. I am huge fan of the New Zealand lamb and was VERY disappointed about the plate that I ordered. However, two other members of the party ordered the rotisserie chicken, one plain and one BBQ and the flavor was amazing!! But they were not too hott... lukewarm at best. I felt the plates and they were a reasonable temperature so I felt that they came out almost immediately. The fourth member of our party ordered the baby back ribs. I also tried a little of that and it was delicious and hot.
Not sure what happened but I would be willing to go again and order something other than the lamb.
The food is great and the place looks great inside and out, but it is INSANELY noisy. With their meal prices as high as they are, I expect to be able to have a conversation at my table without having to yell. They play music relatively loudly (for a restaurant - it's not night club levels) in order to try and mask it, but it doesn't help.
If you're planning a group event then Redstone will be great, or if you plan to have a happy hour outside in the summer it's great for that too. I would not recommend it for a couples or family dinner though.
We have been coming to Redstone for several years on Saturdays, in particular, because we love the Lobster Bisque that was only available on Saturdays. We were quite disappointed this past Saturday when we learned that they no longer served this soup. The food is very well done in general, and apart from the soup, it would be really nice if Redstone would have a few vegetarian options.
