Reds Wine Tavern Ratings and Reviews
We were over charged for our meals and when we spoke to a manager they only took off $3 not the full $10 difference, our drinks sat empty for at least 15 minutes and we were rushed out after our meal.
The food was good and hot and the pre-fix menu was a good value.
Enjoyed a nice birthday dinner with the wife here. The atmosphere was buzzing, the service was terrific and the food was incredible. Can't believe it took me this long to visit Reds. Definitely will be back....perhaps when it's warmer to take advantage of the patio.
I had dinner with my sisters on a Saturday evening. It was a very nice atmosphere, not too loud. Food was great and our server was friendly and happy to answer all of our questions - even though he seemed slightly unfamiliar with the menu at times, he was able to find the answers for us. It was nice to have the prix fixe menu in addition to the regular offerings (our group ordered off of both). The food was all very tasty and nice portion sizes.
My steak was under cooked then recooked and a little tough. But everything else was excellent we had Caesar salad and Ahi tuna tostadas then Tandoori chicken salad, Masala butter chicken bowl and ravioli and garlic shrimp. The service was great and the wine and cocktail list was very nice.
A litttle too loud for comfortable converstion. A little expensive - $12 for an irish Coffee?! A nice ambience, a classy place, good lighting. My biggest issue was the volume of the music. Turn it down a few notches 🙂
We didn’t try the food but were forced to rate it, hence the 3/5 stars.
Wasn't too busy being a Saturday night in the financial district. We enjoyed the comfy chairs, seats by the window and phenomenal dinner. We especially enjoyed the Caesar salad, wild mushroom soup and apple pie with cheddar. The food arrived hot which you don't always get at other places! Thanks for a nice dinner out.
Much too loud for a downtown bar/restaurant that was half empty. I'm not really sure what vibe they are going for in there on a Friday evening but very loud music in a half empty establishment is far below typical Toronto standards. I will not return. Service was decent and the drinks were pretty good but pricey for the overall experience. If this restaurant wasn't downtown but in another city it would be hopping (possibly). In Toronto, with all the choice we have I would expect more. I don't think it was bad but just below average for the city.
They were apparently short staffed and so our drinks order took a very long time to arrive -- and we only got the drinks a few minutes before our entrees in fact, which wasn't ideal. The cocktails were lovely (almost worth the wait...) and most of the food was tasty and well cooked. The fries however were lukewarm and overdone which was also disappointing.
