I’ve been to Reds many times and was pleased that it was quieter than normal. Drinks and food were excellent, but expensive. Service was good. I wish the 2nd floor had been open when we arrived (4:30 PM), but the main level was acceptable.
More a sports bar then a tavern, extremely loud place at dinner time. Food and service was good.
Always a good stable indie town Toronto.
I came here with colleagues (for the third time in 4 months) on a Thursday night. The place was busy and vibrant. I love the atmosphere and food which is why I keep coming back :) The prices are reasonable and the decor is cool. Our meals were all excellent and we had a gluten-free, vegetarian and someone on the Keto plan all in the group and everyone found something they could eat without trouble. Terrific place!
Great food - everything went well for our business luncheon.
Great place, great service, very professional. Went for drinks only/meeting and enjoyed it.
Great dinner in a vibrant atmosphere. The food was delicious and the service was efficient and timely! A great place to eat before heading to the theatre - it was raining and we were able to walk most of the way in the underground!
The waiter was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. The fish special was amazing and great wine selection.
Our server was great, and funny. The food was amazing, apple pie was the best I ever had. And all the staff we came into contact with from the host to people who served our food were very lovely.
Went in and shared a bunch of small plates. Everything was delicious, our server was attentive and super nice!
My food was good, truffle fries were awesome. My friend was less than impressed with her food or drink but said everything was decent.
The food, as always, was wonderful! The noise level atunchtime can make it a bit difficult to hold a conversation but with such yummy food, who needs to talk!
Walked in to three staff at the front hostess station - all three ignored me. One had her back to me, when I said excuse me, I’m looking for my table (guest had already been seated) the blonde turned and looked me up and down and didn’t say a word. Obviously annoyed that I interrupted them. I called my guest and she told me where she was seated in the restaurant. I found my own way to my table. Which was upstairs and at the far back corner.
My guest said that she received the same welcome upon her arrival. She was not acknowledged by staff at all, was bypassed, spoken over and menus were handed off to a pleasant gentleman and he was told simply the table number.
These are three of the rudest hostess staff I’ve ever come across in the city.
Good food and service. Solid performance all around.
good place, good food, a little noisy hard to hear each other some times
Very impressed. Great atmosphere & extremely friendly staff. We were in a bit of s time clinch & they brought our food out super quick. It was excellent. I want to go back when I gave more time
Great service, food was delicious.
Always a great experience.
Brought my wife here on a date. The service wasn't awful, but we did wait quite a while after being shown to our table before the server took our drink order.
My wife had the Ravioli & Garlic Shrimp, and for $25, you'd think that it would at least be hot when it arrived at the table, and not "sort of warmish".
Had Chocolate Chess Pie for dessert. Seemed a lot like it came out of a pre-packaged box, and was microscopic compared to the apple pie (which I do actually recommend).
So yeah, not a great experience for a meal that cost $100. I can do that at the Keg and have a better meal every time.
I've eaten here three times, and each time have had a similar experience. Sometimes the service is good, and sometimes you get ignored. Sometimes the food is good, and sometimes no so much. I like the ambience, but not enough to come back after three "meh" dinners.
The steak was better than many high end Toronto steakhouses.
Pushy server who was trying to turn the table over as quick as possible. Food was very average. For the price, I expected better.
Our group had a wonderful time. Staff were attentive and took very good care of our group.
Appetizers were great. Our entrees came and steaks unfortunately weren't warm. Salmon was good. The staff immediately rectified the issue and sent out another order. Apple pie was delicious.
Service was okay, lettuce wraps are amazing but the dish I got was terrible (Red Curry Chicken) if it wasn't for the delicious apps I probably would not return.
Wait staff was very friendly. My wife and I were up stairs and really enjoyed the ambiance. Unfortunately, my steak was over cooked but they took care of that right away. Plan to go back.
Reds is consistently good. The food is always fresh and prepared excellently. Staff are friendly and accommodating and it has an upbeat and lively atmosphere. While the energy is fun, it can get loud and make it difficult to converse. While not at the high end for prices, neither is it economical. A lunch for two can run anywhere from $65 to $90 (without tip) depending on whether you add an alcoholic drink (or not). So unless you are independently wealthy or have an expense account, Reds will usually be a special occasion or on occasion....,,,but worth it when you do go.
Half price sparkling wine Tuesday nights. Quiet - good for convo, good service.
Didn't eat, so not sure about food rating.
Food was really good, service was terrible. Non energetic, somewhat rude when my girlfriend asked about the menu, cracked about a backside joke in bad taste... one server was rude, when he came back to fill up my water glass..felt like I was at a low end fast food joint type service.
We still come back because I know the food and overall service most days is fantastic. Whoever the staff were working upstairs close to the private dinning room should work on their servicing skills as a start..
My boyfriend and I went here for Valentine's Day. The overall experience was okay. The place had a relaxing atmosphere. The food was good but nothing special. We had the truffle fries and caesar salad for appetizer, butter chicken and quinoa with mushroom and other veggies for mains, and biscotti with cappuccino for dessert. The menu had very limited choices. Ask the servers for other options since not everything is disclosed in the menu.
The service has been unfortunately slow the last 2 times I have been at Reds
Red's is a favorite with my team. It is close by. Only draw back they have is a limited dessert menu.
We enjoyed a meal of different appetizers and lots of Prosecco. The Bangkok Nachos are incredible and definitely the highlight!
Loved the food, wine and service. Food arrived quickly and was almost perfect. Wine selection is amazing but a little pricey. Staff are very attentive and their recommendations on the wines are excellent. Great ambience for a dinner date.
Four of us went out to celebrate a birthday followed by a night at the Opera. We arrived early for some casual conversation and wine. We just ordered a variety of appetizers for meal and shared everything among the 4 of us. Every small plate we ordered was just as delicious as the previous one. We will definitely be returning to try other items on their menu as well as sample different wines!
We expected more from the place. Food was good but not perfect (steaks). For Friday night we thought would be more ambiance and crowded. By 12 already dead. Service was great but we wanted more since we saw it from outside the first time
We requested a quiet table for the business meeting and our request was met. Sometimes this doesn't happen at other restaurants and we appreciated the care taken in choosing the table at a busy lunch time.
Had a stake that I ordered medium rare and it came medium well. Not worth the effort to send it back as I didn't have time to wait for another one.
The check-in was crowded and had to wait 5 min just to ask at what table were my colleagues sited.
Found the venue to be a little too noisy for a business meeting.
You try to visit here once because here could be disappeared in near future. I will never recommend here to my friend.
