LOVE the atmosphere here.
Food - ok, average or a little above. Decent prices for a resort restaurant. The fish (fish and chips) and the onion rings LOOK great but the inside of the breading and fish were mushy. It is also surprising how boring cole slaw can be when it so easy to make it actually have flavor. Disappointing. Seriously. It would also be nice to have a non-spicy sauce option for people whose diets can't handle spicy food. (Sauce for the fish). Nice, and I will go back, but it could so easily be elevated in terms of quality.
Red's is in a good location, but it was loud and there were lots of kids running around. Ok for a quick drink. The deviled eggs were good. The Jesse burger was good. The deep fried pickles were not good. Soggy and over battered. Our server, and the other servers were very good!
We chose Red’s ONLY because the Wigwam website showed a menu that included tuna poke tostadas and a tuna salad. Upon arrival we were told that the menu I had looked at was “discontinued” a week prior. The occasion was our wedding anniversary ... we should have stuck with Litchfields which we’ve done in the past. Our “meal” consisted of onion rings and pretzel bites which were tasty but not the tuna I was so looking forward to. The food and service was just fine. $5.00 glasses of wine during happy hour was quite a deal. We won’t come back but will do Litchfields and/or Wigwam bar.
Restaurant Week experience was horrible. We were told from the get go it would take 45 minutes to have food delivered after ordering, and were also told some desserts on Restaurant Week menu were not available. About 20 minutes after ordering, was told my dish was unavailable and offered a substitute. After 30-40 minutes we asked for appetizer, were told it would be a while but we were offered chips and salsa to hold us over (this was good). However, 5 mins later he said they ran out of chips/salsa too!!! And, we overheard him tell another table the restaurant was out of steak. REALLY?!??
Finally our food arrived (about an hour after ordering) and food was cold. At least the manager had the guts to come out and ask how things were going LOL!
Overall, the restaurant should be embarrassed over this. Restaurant Week is a great opportunity to showcase your offerings- I can understand if a restaurant runs out of something, but not to this extent. Someone really dropped the ball on this. I feel bad for the servers, they were clearly embarrassed.
We were already on the fence about this place, so at least this experience helped make that part of it clear!
It has been awhile since my son and I have visited Red's for the Sunday Breakfast buffet and it continues to be amazing! They have a lot of excellent choices and everything is fresh and full of flavor! I love the view of the golf course, the modern facilities, and the relaxing vibe. The people are friendly and the food is great! What more do you need? :-)
GREAT food, we loved the black bean burgers. Honestly one of the best veggie burgers I've had. Ambiance is definitely on the sports bar kind of side. Very loud, hard to hold conversation here. Great place for happy hour or watching the game though. Eating out on the patio is probably quieter but we were stuck inside on our visit during the heat of summer.
Service is always hit or miss here unless you have Sam who is the best waiter there! I think it's because they don't do sections for their servers so we see our same server for our table inside running to the patio to her other tables. The food is good (recommend enchiladas, ribs and turkey and apple burger) but Reds needs to update their menu from time to time or feature more specials on the weekends to make it more interesting for their regular diners. Speaking of the weekends, there is usually live music on the patio and in the fall/winter/spring, the patio is THE place to be to eat! Right on the golf course!
Visited here for Mother's Day brunch used an app to book was seated quickly! Wait staff was very supportive of our needs and weather outside was perfect! Played with corn hole game, nice drinks, food was decent. This is nice little spot for some drinks, relaxation, and the Asia wings are delicious.
Would have enjoyed eating outside, as I made the reservation on Open Table, and requested outdoor dining.
When checking in, they said two large parties had booked outside, and we would sit inside. During the meal, three tables were unoccupied. The acoustics are terrible indoors, and our evening with our two older daughters was hampered by the noise of a very large party near us.
If there is a next time, I will call the restaurant and request outdoor dining, and if they cannot accommendate us, we will find another restaurant, as the noise level ruined our meal.
This place could use a hands on floor manager. Friday night and nobody working the floor. The personnel was very pleasant but entirely untrained. Menu was so so but could use a few more fun-food items and at least 2 more entrees. The special was very good. Prices were reasonable. It wouldn't take much to tune this place up but for now it will probably disappoint a first timer.
We had enjoyed Red's B&G on 2 previous occasions, so we were prepared foremother nice experience. We were seated quickly and with a nice view and little traffic. It was brunch and the serving trays were full of delicious, hot brunch fare, and it was easy again to take more than there was room for in the tummy. There is plenty of parking across the street and a nice walk after a meal is always beneficial.
