Red's Bar & Grill Ratings and Reviews
We decided to try Red's again after it's "redo" . Very happy we did, the restaurant looks alot more updated and the outside dining has a beautiful view of one of the Wigwam's golf courses. The food is made fresh and it is delicious! I first ordered the Tortilla soup and it was fantastic, fresh tortilla strips on top, you can really tell it was freshly made. I also ordered the fish tacos, they were an app, but that is all I wanted. I got three small corn tacos with cabbage and onions and lightly fried fish... very tasty! My husband got the chicken enchiladas which he devoured quickly. We will be back.
My husband and I together with friends ate for the first time at Reds. We ordered onion rings for appetizers and thought the batter was delicious. As Brits we thought that the batter used for onion rings would be replicated in the batter for fish and chips…. WRONG….. very bready. Wouldn't order again. My husband ordered the True Blue hamburger… looked very yummy and my husband enjoyed very much. Would we visit again? Yes! But probably order a hamburger certainly not the fish and chips.
As a footnote the entertainment that evening was very loud and noticed that seating around the proximity of the duo was vacant.
The bar is great looking. The drinks were watery and we found bugs in two of them, which we were taken care of after waiter saw the problem. Service was slow and not to attentive to our requests had to ask more then once for utensils and sweetener for ice tea. We did like the atmosphere and the sports remodel was great. We used to come to the old Red's and were pleasantly surprised. We will try again hoping this was an isolated incident.
We wanted to try this new place for breakfast before going to the Litchfield Park art fair. We had the breakfast buffet, which was $15. The buffet had a good selection, but the items were not very hot. Our server did not ask us we wanted coffee refills. We had to flag her down & ask her for a refill. She never came back to offer more. She also did not make it clear that a choice of juice was included. The restaurant was not very busy at the time.
The brunch was just fine, but we miss the old menu! We generally ask to sit outside, but it was too cool the morning we were there. Service was great and we had made a reservation so we were seated right away. I love the history of Red's and the Wigwam Resort.
Took 45 min. to take our breakfast order. Food cold when arrived.
Tried to sell me desert, seemed insulting after being ignored.
Greeter at door, he very polite and helpful.
We hadn't been here for over a year. Wrote similar negative review last time.
TV's loud with sumo wrestlers. Seemed odd breakfast ambiance.
Service was slow but friendly when they were around. My medium rare burger was really well done and this after asking if I should order it rare. The waitress assured me they were really good about grilling--not so much. Tater tot appetizer was good tho. We ate outside and were able to have a conversation. When leaving and passing through inside, wow, was it noisy. Obviously a popular place.
Everything was great except for the noise level. We were there with another couple and it was impossible to hear each other. It was the same for the table next to us, they were screaming at each other. There were screaming children everywhere. This was the second, same experience we've had.
Enjoyed the crispy wings and enchiladas very much. The burgers and fish and chips were as good as they usually are at regular places...nothing to sing about. But, the service was so slow, we were exhausted just waiting! My father's food came out ice cold and had to be brought back and the dessert was microwaved apple tart or something. I'd go back just to try something different and give it another chance because I really like the Wigwam and I'd like to see if it was just a one time thing. When we left I noticed they had bean bags and video games in a corner near the bar which was cool. Wish I saw that earlier so my kids could have played while we waited and waited and waited some more.
We enjoyed the food and the view very much at Red's last Sunday. However, being that there was seven of us, and I had requested a table in a corner and close to the windows, I was disappointed when we arrived to find that the table they selected for us was dead set in the middle of the room. Red's had called confirming that we were coming, and at that time I requested the corner table. This was somewhat disappointing to me. I will say, however, that they did make some changes and got us by the windows and in a corner. However, as nice as the table was, it was right next to the bar. Made it somewhat difficult to carry on a conversation. The food was excellent and the servers were very nice.
The place is a great place to sit out on the patio and enjoy a burger and a glass of wine but not on this Saturday night. There was a huge party for the golfers and it was impossible to hear and have any conversation at all. This was such a bad night to judge -- the place was chaotic.
It was also too cold to sit outside with the wind blowing.
The burgers actually looked and tasted okay but the fries were cold.
No one paid much attention to us because the party was the ev ent and
they probably were really being nice by allowing us to sit in the corner and
have our burgers and ahi tuna. The Ahi was good just not served with anything but
It was hard to get refills for our drinks and just the noise level turned me off.
Everyone was really sweet when we requested something but it was not a fair night to judge
this place. Too bad we picked this night. Just bad luck.
My family travels a lot and whenever we land in a new city we always use Open Table to find great places to eat and have never had a bad experience until this place. Why so awful? We sat for 12 minutes before we saw our server for the first time. Our food was brought out in two stages...1/2 the table got their meals and then 15 minutes later the other 1/2. When we asked the server what the issue was she said 'your dinners got stuck in the kitchen behind a party of six'. Interesting answer given that we were also a party of six. The food was simply terrible-- I got the chicken enchiladas and there were three giant pieces of grizzle contained within. My seven year old son got a kid's grilled cheese sandwich and it was presented on little appetizer toast grilled with cheese and bacon (of course the menu didn't include bacon). Our-server said 'whoops...that's wierd'...that went back. My husband had a pork belly sandwich that was over-cooked and his fries were incredibly soggy. The only meal that was consumed in its entirety was my older son's BLT and I think it was because he was starving. On a final note (and this might seem petty) but the server's 'country plaid' uniforms are a ridiculous mismatch for a high-end, outstanding and gorgeous golf resort like Wigwam.
Room was clean, view to the course was good. But this is really a place to grab a drink and maybe a sandwich after a game of golf. The food was terrible. We showed up just at shift change, so had two different wait staff, which the departing person did not bother to say she was leaving or introduce her replacement. Fries were cold, corn tortillas in the fish tacos had tough edges you couldn't bite through. All in all, not a great experience.
After a great day of golf at the resort, we had dinner at Red's which has a nice view over the various courses. The restaurant is a huge disappointment for a high end resort. Food orders for my partner and I were dry, overcooked and served barely warm. Service was slow although the restaurant was only moderately busy. Staff was indifferent at best and bordered on surly when we asked if our server could be found for a second drink order and to ask for flatware and napkins which were not served with the food.
Red's would be fine for a drink after golf and perhaps an appetizer, but the food falls far, far short of what I expect at high end resorts such as those at the Biltmore, for example, where grill food and service are both commendable.
The area around the Wigwam has numerous restaurants, all of which can be checked on Trip Advisor or Yelp, and might provide a better dining experience.
Well, if you find yourself in the Litchfield Park area (3 miles off the I-10), and it's not dinner time, go to Red's - it's worth a try.
Service was v. good. Food was ok but it's the Wigwam golf course restaurant so you have to keep your expectations in check.
Did not expect a lot from a restaurant at a pro shop, but the food was quite good. Pecan coated Tilapia was done perfectly. BBQ ribs were a little sweet for my taste but my wife enjoyed them, meat was tender and moist. Best part was a very knowledgeable and engaging server on a night when few people were there.
