I dined at Redbird alone. When the hostess realized I was a party of 1, she asked if I would like to eat at the bar. I reserved a table, not a place at the bar. She then tried to place me at an inferior table in the less desirable room. I asked to be moved to the brighter, main room. The hostess accomodated but the exchange put me in a bad mood. My waitress was friendly but didn't know whether or not the halibut was wild and didn't offer to find out. The food was good, but very expensive. I might return for drinks, but not for a meal.
So good. Everything. The drinks...to the food...to the choices. You literally want to taste EVERYthing on the menu from the drink menu to the dining menu). Service was phenomenal. Would recommend to everyone.
One of my go to favorites. Can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.
The food and service were good. We enjoyed the ambiance and had a good time, but found the flies to be a nuisance. I would recommend fly zappers. Other than that issue, I wouldn’t change a thing.
They need to get rid of the flies.
Great service and food was excellent...the open air made made the ambience remarkably pleasant.
What an amazing restaurant! The staff is incredibly attentive and knowledgeable, including being thoughtful enough to suggest how many courses we should have and fantastic vegetarian substitutes. I can’t even describe what the passion fruit dessert was like, but it was amazing. Highly recommend going there whether it’s for prom night (we saw quite a few prom dates there) to a really delicious dinner with your loved ones. Thank you for my experience!
Absolutely outstanding! Incredibly delicious food, great drinks & wonderful service! Perfect for entertaining clients, going out with friends or for a date night! I can’t wait to go back!
GREAT SERVICE - GREAT AMBIANCE - FANTASTIC FOOD - The service and food were amazing, and of course the ambiance was beautiful
The food was too salty.
Food is good, although our waiter seemed to take himself a bit seriously. This place is noisy and has New York style seating where the tables are basically inches from each other. We ended up sitting in the lounge which far less crowded. Make sure you check the price before you order a glass of wine. My date ordered a house cabernet and it was $30.
A high end restaurant with cuisine for vegetarians and vegans. The Malbec we ordered was so-so, but everything else was fantastic.
The wine was first class, the smaller dishes were excellent, the fish, halibut, was not special enough
Fantastic meal, incredible service.
Lovely space that we’ll be returning to.
It was a beautiful evening -- attentive but not obtrusive wait staff, beautiful location, warm ambience. The food was beautifully prepared, delicious, attractively presented. We had several plates and shared among five of us. Loved the goat preparation, lamb belly and barbecued tofu - vegetables and small plates were perfect if not imaginative, and we shared a very tasty dessert. Lovely "amuse bouche" small cocktail at the start, a gift of the chef. The bar seems to specialize in smaller craft names, not the usual big labels - if we asked for a name brand, they asked us what we liked about it and matched it up with another. For those of us who really like to talk during dinner, it was loud. But we came on the late-ish side, around 7:30, and after about an hour or so, the noise level was much less. By the time we left (around 10:30!) it was virtually empty. A very special occasion kind of place!
really cool place. I enjoyed the cocktails and the food.
Very strong smell of special food that made my colleague's lung issue come up again. We had to move to the front room.
The appetizers we're much better than the main courses. The complimentary bread and cheese puffs we're good. We really appreciated the aperitif of rose and Brandy mix.
Our first time to this restaurant. The cuisine and drinks are VERY creative, well prepared, beautifully plated, and delicious. This is not your "everyday" place or meal. It's definitely on the expensive side, but unlike other pricey restaurants, it's worth it - especially for a special occasion. The service was excellent. The patio is lovely, with a high open ceiling that feels like a large room. Very enjoyable. Great cocktails.
Excellent restaurant. My wife and I dined here with our two sons and their girlfriends. The food and service were both perfect and the ambiance was outstanding. We were seated at a large table and the room was quiet enough for conversation. The setting was so perfect we stayed quiet a long time but were never rushed.
Loved it ... have been here for dinner but brunch was lovely as well.
Loved the attention and service by all the brunch staff. All our plates were delicious! Will definitely be back for brunch!
We got off to a rough start but ended on a high note. Initially they sat us at probably the worst table in the restaurant (behind the bar, next to the servers station, in the flow of foot traffic). This is the second time the hosts at this restaurant have tried to seat me in that spot. Thankfully the manager was able to seat us in the main dining room. After that we had a stellar dining experience. We got the lamb belly over the chickpea pancake, sardines, cavatelli, duck and broccoli. Everything was exceptional. Every bite was better than the last. We finished off our dinner with the cheesecake. It was a perfect blend of consistency, fruit to cheesecake ration. Highly recommend Redbird.
We love Redbird! The food is delicious. The patio is light and beautiful. The seating is super comfortable. The service is excellent. Highly recommend!
Interesting menu, great food, service im a peaceful setting.
This was my second time to Redbird and I was not disappointed. The service is amazing (Anthony Castro is the best bartender I've known - though I admit to a bias). The Hostess, wait staff, and cooks in the kitchen are humble and gracious. The brunch was AMAZING and the drinks are comforting and creative. I will be back, and cannot wait. If I can find a restaurant in Minneapolis that is comparable, I will let you all know. There is nothing close at this time that I am aware of.
Dinner wasn't as good as 1.5 yrs ago. Fois gras was definitely not as good...fiberous so hard to cut & tasted like regular liver. Pork rib dish was ok-ish, not worth $50. What's best about Redbird...the inventive cocktails. Next time, we'll sit at bar with appetizers & drinks...no dinner.
The food was good overall but a few dishes were disappointing. For instance, the "home-cured" sardines appeared to have just a single sardine chopped into sections (for $16). However, other dishes were copious such as the pork and lamb.
Grace was great and accommodating- server was the worst ever. Ambiance was super
One of my favorite spots in Downtown Los Angeles!
Service was great! Very attentive and detailed. Appetizers were all great but larger size dishes were all too salty. Cheese bread... omg, heaven . Wine list is great but pricing was little too high for what it is compared to other restaurants in DTLA.
Outstanding evening at redbird !. Wine, food, ambiance. Great little evening out with some good friends. Food met all our expectations!.
Wonderful ambience. Great space. Complimentary cocktail was super sweet!

Was very much looking forward to Sunday Brunch at Redbird. The food was very good--not outstanding, but very good! I was disappointed in the room. I had heard so much about the patio, the former "church" setting, etc... but, it was nothing special.
Really great ambiance and EXCELLENT service. Limited menu but really good food.
My husband and I ate at Redbird for his birthday dinner on a Saturday evening. We loved this place! The ambiance and decor are lovely, and we thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered. Our drinks were well-mixed & extremely balanced. I got the Maple Leaf- it was one of the best bourbon cocktails I have ever had. For food, we ordered the duck and goat entrees with a side of rainbow carrots. Everything was well-prepared and tasted wonderful. Our server and the rest of the staff were very attentive & professional. The plates are a bit pricey, so this isn't an every weekend kind of place, but it's perfect for fancier meals and special occasions!
Overpriced and poor dinner food. Disappointing give the brunch we had there two weeks ago was exceptional!
This was my second visit to Redbird. Previously I had their steak plate, which was shared between three people and more than enough. It was delicious and perfectly cooked. Their complimentary appetizer is amazing— bread things with cheese that are gluten free. Wine and drinks menu is also fantastic. This second visit was unfortunately not great. Service and ambiance is beautiful, as it was the first time, but the food was extremely disappointing. We had the scallops and while the scallops themselves were delicious, the accompanying sauce and oxtail were pretty gross. I didn't even eat them. Dessert was good, again not spectacular. Overall it was a very expensive meal and I left really hungry. It was not worth the price at all. I had $10 tacos earlier that day and they tasted better than the meal I experienced. Service was awesome though and I'm sad to have to write a negative review about their food.
We had a great lunch. The chicken sandwich was delicious. Moist and tender, cooked perfectly.
The hamburger was made as I ordered, true medium rare. I asked for and got extra slices of onions, tomatoes, lettuce and ketchup.
The bun was really good too.
The french fries were really done right, slightly spiced and partially crispy.
The service was attentive.
I love this place for dinner too.
